I've had enough - I'm selling the Corrado
Critical_Mass replied to djmac56's topic in General Car Chat
Ozowan- The ISV is next to the throttle body, its a metal cylindrical shaped piece - you will have to remove the rear most engine plastics to see it. It has 2 plugs attached to it and i held on by a rubber ring shaped piece that it slides into. Simply remove both plugs and slide it out of the rubber holder. Once done you need to lever the valve open with a flat head screw driver and spray some carb cleaner in there - would be good to leave it to soak for a while. -
yeah, that's why I asked the question, as the Gatso takes two pics on the grid at a set time interval to prove the speed in addition to the speed sensor triggering it in the first place. Whereas the Truvelo/traffic light cameras use induction loops laid into the tarmac. So a gatso has to be facing the right way to take two pictures of the rear of the car, I triggered one years ago on a single carriageway, facing it, never heard anythjing from that, but then in some areas less than 1 in 3 gatsos has film or even the camera unit in it as they are so expensive, they move the camera unit around from box to box so you've got a good chance of avoiding a ticket anyway. Oh and apparently on a gatso if you do over 165mph they'll only get one pic of you on the grid  Didnt they 'test' that on TG?

YES! Anything other the the original paper filter will let larger particles through = not good for a charger.

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
Critical_Mass replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
Tweaked the suspension height before it goes in to the garage on Friday, to get laser aligned. Also found and fixed an oil leak coming from the cam sensor... Is this sensor supposed to have a O ring seal around it?? There wasnt one, so just put an O ring on an voila, no more leak :D -
Tornado red, Foreign Corrado with bodykit at the BP garage near Wakefield - spotted Saturday afternoon. Another Tornado Red corrado spotted this afternoon at about 4pm ish, heading into Crossgates on the A6120. I got the thumbs up, i hope you saw that i gave you a nod back - i wasnt ready to wave or give the thumbs up, as normally when i see nother tornado red corrado there's no ackowledgement so was caught out

ebay stainless steel exhaust manifold for vr6
Critical_Mass replied to hendrikbmx's topic in Engine Bay
Is the engine laid out the same way on lhd cars. I know the manifold comes close to the Steering column boot. But that would be on the other side. -
ebay stainless steel exhaust manifold for vr6
Critical_Mass replied to hendrikbmx's topic in Engine Bay
Looks like a Raceland Mani. Good quality if they are the same manifolds. Im not sure you'll gain any BHP. Not that i noticed, though i havent had it on a rolling road. THough the throttle response seems slightly better. -
Take a look at the illuminated gear stick thread on there. Ok, its not just changing the gear know but also the gator. The gear knob lights up - tastefully. There was a group buy but not sure its happening anymore, though there is a link to the site that sells the sticks.

Great news. Nice one :D

The gatsos need to take 2 pics i.e. 2 flashes. I think you'll be safe.

Which corrado do you have - 93 VR6 Any modifications (DECLARED)- Yup, coilovers, air filter, exhaust, wheels, New VR engine (valuation purposes), smoked lights, manifold. Do you have a thatham 1 alarm - Yes How old are you - 26 how many NCB do you have - 4 Who are you insured with - HIC Is it TPFT or Fully Comp - FC How much do you pay - About £800 - £250 excess, includes breakdown/recovery AND agreed valuation of 4k
-
I didnt go classic in the end but i did go with HIC. £800 with breakdown/recovery, european cover, able to drive other cars TPFT. 26 years 1 conviction no claims in the last 5 years.
-
 i like how you ignored the joanne comment :D Every time i see a scirocco i say to myself 'i want one of them'. But i really would miss the corrado AND what will it be like in 10-15 years time.
-
Do they take the car off you there and then. I thought it would at least go to court before you're banned as opposed to being banned at the side of the road.
-
Someone called me Joe?! Holy sh!t.... They were convinced to lend me the Scirocco because of my immense driving prowess. They couldn't say no.  Unfortunately it's the 140 PS Diesel DSG so I'm kind of over it now really. 2.0 TSI all the way. 8) But we don't have one of those at the moment so I have to content myself with a mk6 GTi whenever I want some turbo petrol fun. Life's a beeeatch.  I meant Joe as in Joanne   Putting the engine as side, whats it like to drive? driving position, seats, space etc?
-
The corrado didnt come with a sub. It maybe a idea to see where they lead to.
-
Surely if there was a car infront of you then they wouldnt have been able to tell what your speed was. The gun fires a laser at your car and it bounces back. If a car was in between then it would have bounced back off that car. and.. anything over 96mph is a court appearance and an automatic ban isnt it, anything below will be points.
-
Good work Joe  How did you convince them to lend you a Scirocco? Looks nice, what model is it?
-
Ignition switch, tried changing that? They are a common fault and are cheap so worth changing.
-
Im no expert. But WHITE smoke is water vapour, blue is oil and black normally indicates engine running rich. When you replaces the cylinder head i gather you got it skimmed before fitting a new gasket?
-
Surely Ford would still take an interest and investigate if possible though. After all, although he's not naming garages he's putting their engines into disrepute?
-
HIC do expect it to have a CAT1. To be honest, i'd get one fitted anyway if money permits. I wouldnt want my pride and joy been taken by some scroat.
-
Interested Wendy? :D
-
i'd like to see a pic too - sorry not interested in buying just curious. :D

Inpro style headlights + Phillips X-treme bulbs...how much?!
Critical_Mass replied to MonkeyVR6's topic in General Car Chat
I'd say minimum of £100. I bought a set of these from the forum over a year ago for £120
