Thats it. There will be a difference in weight between tyres too. Would be interesting to see a comparison of brands and their weights.
-
Nope was just curiosity to be honest. Wondered what the wheels i have on now weigh compared to the standard speedlines and if it would affect the cars performance. I wouldnt normally be too bothered put with having 9j on the rears then it got me thinking about how the car would be affected.
-
:( So thats 9kg plus the weight of the tyre and air... 18-19kg maybe? The fronts are only 7.5 wide so maybe they will be sub 16kg? How much will having heavier wheels affect performance/handling?
-
I thought its best to use mineral oil for the first 100-500 miles. Then switch to synthetic or semi synthetic after that.
-
Ah cheers Toad :thumbleft: i should have looked harder  Looks as though sub 16kg is a good weight.
-
Hi all, Can anyone give me an idea what would be an average weight of a 16x7.5 and 16x9 alloy wheel? Also, what would be a light wheel in each of those sizes and what would be an over heavy wheel in those sizes? Also can anyone tell me how much OE Speedline alloys weigh? Cheers Gaz
-
Nice I like them, will be worth the wait though ;)
-
What alloys did you try order Andrew?

My Autowatch had a "hidden" button fitted with it, where i press the fob to get in the car, keys into ignition and to the on position. Now, the ignition lights wont come on, thus car wont start until i press this "hidden" button. Maybe its the same sort of thing. However this feature can be turned off, for when you take car into garage or like.

Not something to do with an after market alarm?

Nice rado, what else you got planned for it? I dunno, those rear lights look pretty good on my bordeaux rado. :D

Speaking of HIC. I've been waiting 2 weeks for my agreed valuation to be accepted or declined, despite ringing to see whats going on with it and to be told its going to be done as soon as possible (yes as vague an answer as that).

Should have bought a VR.... i only said that to wind Sonicriot up HA! -
To be honest i wouldnt listen to what someone who works in Halfords has to say. I'd go for something less abrasive first off, like Jim said. Then if that doesnt work, try a cutting compound after - but always as a last resort :D

No not at all. The 2 Toyos i got from there were a really good price. Just a bit disappointed with the discount. Nevermind ey. Cheers for contacting him.
-
I'd have to agree tbh.... the savings very minimal indeed. I thought they'd have given a better discount then that, i really cant believe how little the discount is. I dont think i'd be out of line for saying pathetic, £100 and they'd only give you £2 off :confused4: Oh well, i suppose thats the end of that.... if you dont ask you dont find out.
