Hi Jon, Yeah I'd be interested, will you accept paypal? Think i will try a new bulb first as that seems to be the most likely cause, as the car hasnt moved for a few months and the ABS was working before. Im sure power is getting to the plug itself - between the yellow/red and black wire i was seeing 9v and between the black and brown wire i got 11v (if i've checked the correct wires). I'm just wondering if ive knocked the bulb whilst its been out of the holder. Hope its NOT the ECU :? But like i said the ABS always clicks when i turn the ignition on, think its the pedal. Im guessing an ABS ECU fault would show on VAG-COM?

Hi all, I have used the search regarding ABS bulb/light, but only one short post was found about a similar problem. Recently dismantled the centre console on my VR and also the clocks came out.. this was to change a heater vent cable. Which i've managed to do. Now the ABS light came on as it should do before i took the centre console apart and also the dash switches. Now when i turn the ignition on the light doesnt come on at all. You can here the ABS click as it does when the ignition is turned on. VAG COM doesnt detect any faults either. Does this simply sound like a blown bulb? If so can a new bulb just be soldered back on or does a new circuit board need buying containing a new bulb? What size and type bulb is it?

Ill be giving this a go. :D

Is it possible to take down rear axel without removing brake
Critical_Mass replied to Mawrick's topic in Drivetrain
in which case, take them off at the hub and leave them hanging until its time to refit. -

You can take the ABS sensor off either at the hub or under the seat. You'll porbably have to fight the allen bolt a little to get it out of the hub (depends how tight it is. Personally i'd just remove the rear seats and disconnect the plug there and feed it through the hole under the seats, its easy enough to feed them back through once the axle is back on. Your choice really. Obviously depends on what you're doing with the axle as to whether the ABS sensor needs to come off the axle or not. -
Other then something like Mer silicon gel or 'back to black' i think the only other option would be to spray matt black.

CF F1 Fantasy League 09 -Final results...who won, who lost?

...I'd love to believe that, but it's only going to happen if everyone except BMW and Force India disappear!  harsh, but true. Spain should be a good race and i feel there will be much improvement with Mclaren, Ferrari and Renault. But I cant see this helping Massa or even Koveleinen going by their past performances, they've had alot of bad luck. -
Apologies, cheers! I rang HIC back and they said 7.5K a year. Its also no use to me if you cant get NCD. :( Im getting agreed evalution with the modified policy too.

A quick Q regarding insurance. Just taken out a modified car policy with HIC and was speaking to someone about it. They said i should have taken out a classic car policy instead, but i didnt consider it due to me thinking i would be limited to the amount of miles i can do. Now my question is, will i be limited to say 3k a year, or can i still state 13k as my annual mileage on a classic car policy, also can my car still have modifications on a classic car policy? Thanks

Left stranded, car towed cos of insurance error.
Critical_Mass replied to VR6Joni's topic in General Car Chat
I agree, no one should have to go through with it. Im sure its not an isolated case though, so i would guess the insures wont get 'taken to the cleaner' - even if maybe they should. The insurers should have an legal obligation to keep the database up-to-date. -

I think its a simply case of, when he says police he means the courts (the law). It is the courts that issue the fine and points. However you would think that if it went to court he would have highlighted the mistake the insurance has made. Thus points/fine not issued. -
