What controls or affects the air/fuel mixture on a VR?
Critical_Mass replied to martyjmcfly's topic in Engine Bay
What he said ^^ Just right of the suspension turret. Its further down towards the bottom of the engine bay. -
definately worth buying. Can also be used on the front calipers too. I didnt realise they were car specific, ive had the same tool for the years, me and my dad have used the exact same tool on various different cars.

I think the loose wire on the lambda plug in the engine bay is a common occurance, it happened to me too. :s -
Should have thrown your wheel brace at the kid. Kids these days :bad-words:

£1,600 is cheap yes, but that doesnt mean its 'too good to be true'. Corrado prices are dropping same applies to the VR but 1,600 is still cheap. I'd ask if tensioner and chains have be changed, list for any rattles etc. Sounds like it could be worth a punt.

3corsemeal - when you bought the shocks/springs are you sure they sent springs for a VR? I once got some shocks and springs and once fitted the front was really low for a -40mm drop. Turns out i had been sent valver/g60 springs which are different as they are lighter on the front to a VR.

Mine sits too far into the recess, how did you adjust it quicky? Simply rewelding the hanger? I'll get a pic up.

Rebuild the original engine and turbo/supercharge it :D

a bit of vasaline or grease around the headlight seal might help to keep the moisture out of the light :)

I think they're M12, but not 100%. Didnt see any M11s when i was at the shop. Toad - I've contacted a distributer of Koni kits and have emailed them - no response yet. I've also gone onto the official Koni site and emailed the address I found on there, but the email came back as 'unable to deliver' !? This is the distributor i contacted - [email protected] This is the koni address - [email protected] http://www.koni.uk.com/home/component/o ... /Itemid,3/ - telephone number on there mate. I'm going to try give them a ring tomorrow.

Ill get some pics up. But the washers im referring to are the one above and below the rubber mount that are in the boot - you know the ones. Any idea what the thread pattern is? Been to B&Q and they had the right size bolts but not the correct thread width. :(
-
I've got a vice in the garage so will secure it in that and see how i get on? I know Koni will definately be able to provide the nuts, but what about the 3 washers in the top mount? I've emailed a Koni Distributer... ill wait and see.

I was just going to drill the washers, bad idea?
-
no worries. 17mm, cheers!
-
I thought that was a pretty good effort. Gets coat....
-
Hang on 21 mm, is that the fronts? I need the nuts for the rears.
-
Yeah it put an abrupt halt to me finishing fitting the suspension :( Cheers for the size boost. I wasnt sure how bit they were. Going to nip to the hardware store today to get some.
-
trip to B&Q or like?
-
Where do i get the right size high tensile bolts from? :?
-
Thought about that already about the washers, but wasnt sure if i could get new ones that were bigger. Where can i get the nuts from, are they just 'normal' nuts?
-
Hi all, I've bought a set of koni TAs off a member on here. I've fitted them today with no problems, until........ I came to refit the the top mount inside the boot and found out the nuts from my old suspension are too small to go onto the new suspension, but also the upper and lower metal washers also have too little diameter holes to fit onto the strut? Surely I could buy bigger nuts, but where from and what about the metal washers?
