Same here, my steering feels TOO light. When i go over a straight bumpy road the steering wheel goes side to side, its like the steering wheel is too lose or the tyre just arent gripping. No confidence with it at all :( Ive had a laser wheel alignment done and its spot on, no worn ball joints noticed in last MOT or during the wheel alignment. May be worth chaning the ball joints anyway just to rule it out

Cheers Jon I will take a look when i finish work, i cant seem to view that at the mo
-
Well thats what i thought, its faily thick metal. I reckon/hoping the its just the gasket or exhaust, i will take a look tomorrow. im looking for an excuse to get a new exhaust.
-
VW exhaust manifold, cylinder 1-3 £154, 4-6 £135. Said he'd give me a bit of discount too. Seems a bit pricey.
-
Hi fellas, Yes magnex do stock a Corrado Manifold. Im a bit worried about the prices though the manifold alone looks to be as much as a full exhaust? Or was a i reading the site prices incorrectly. http://www.magnexexhausts.com/product_finder.asp I looked on the above site and chose manifolds and it came up with a full cat back system, not sure if that includes the manifolds too though. Selected the full exhausts tab and it came back as same price!? EDIT - nope, you're right Magnex dont. Any recommendations to which manifold, assuming i need one, havent checked yet?
-
Cheers for the input Griff. Ideally id want an OEM exhaust but the price of a whole system (possibly minus the cat) would be rediculously high and i dont want it booming either. Ill take a look at the magnex system. Do magnex do manifolds also?
-
Will do, dunno when its gonna be though  just spent 3k on the car, this is all i need.
-
Yeah good manifolds cost a bit, but are worth their weight! To get the rear axle off, there is 4 bolts holding the beam to the floorpan through a plate on either side (2 bolts each), then you'd need to undo all the brake lines and handbrake cables, plus the top rear suspension mounts.... anything I've missed people? But... the much easier way is to just take each part of the exhaust off in sections and rebuild it in sections also, leaving the rear beam hassle out! ^ that's how I did my golf one.[/quote:38whben5] Cool! 8) cheers for the help monkeeey. Thats ok as long as the new exhaust just slides back together.
-
Cheers guys like this Monkeey - http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-CORRADO-VR6-2- ... dZViewItem? How much do they retail for elsewhere? EDIT - heh not for £500 for just the manifold. I cant even spend £500 on the whole exhaust. Another question, If i was to fit a new exhaust myself. How do i undo the rear axle so it can be dropped to get the back box off?
-
Hi guys/gals, Ive discovered that my exhaust is blowing and popping away under the bonnet. I think its either the top of the down pipe or the manifold. I also dont know if its the gasket or if theres a slight hole. SO to check it out, would i be able to disconnect exhaust from cat and then from the manifold with out taking the rest of the exhaust off. Also whats this air duct do that joins on to the down pipe of the exhaust? For now i want to see if i can patch it up until i can afford to get a new exhaust.

I know what you mean, but then you get all disappointed when you dont get a wave back -
 Id have loved to have heard that in person! Good stuff Andy. Though i guess its back round to what i said in a another thread recently. But I personally cant help but feel dealers will tell you pretty much anything to get you to bring your car into them.

Look under the steering wheel mate, there's a shelf and to the far right theres a small shell. Take that out by the 2 twist clips and it pulls out. The fuse box is behind it.

Ditto. I can't really see the point of 2 [or more] road cars tbh, but then I'm not known for my conformist or balanced views  One road car, 1 track car, or one road car, one company car.....I can go along with that, but 2 privately owned road cars is like having 2 wives, but you fancy one more than the other. And why pay to insure and tax the 2nd wife and only bang her once a month? Besides, nearly everything I've driven in recent years is just dull next to the C anyway. Fun for a week..... then I want the C back.....so I'd rather just devote all my time and money to one wife :-) 2 of them is just too complicated. Beautifully put.

Ah, so what IS the official CO2 output of a VR?
-
From what i gathered it would only affect new cars from 2009 onwards? Though im going to look on the print out i got at my last MOT, to see the CO2 emissions read on it, that was with my old engine too not the new one, so id imagine it'll be a bit lower with the new one.

 ditto, i only have the ONE corrado. Drive the girlfriends Lupo 1.0 SE very occasionally. Im loving that porsche 911 speedster YUMMY! :D

Does the other side work fine?
-
Is there 2 elements in the bulb, one for side lights the other for brake. Or is it just the one element that gets brighter for the brake light?
