  1. If everyone merged alternately, one car in the left lane, then one in the right and so on. BUT NOOOOO....... they all want the same piece of road at the same time. Im happy to let someone in from the right lane, as long as they arent agressive about it by trying to force you to let them in. Some even drive onto the hatchings rather then give in. Even worse when youve spent the time to queue like everybody else and they swan in from the right lane. Parts of the A63 between York and the coast are bad for bottle necks.

Ive got that prob though. Has the Cig lighter stopped working too?
  3. UPDATE: took car to coast on sunday, spoiler DOES work, however seems to have a mind of its own. Sometimes it goes up and stays there until i drop to a low speed. OR sometimes, say travelling at 60mph the spoiler goes up and then back down and back up back down etc. It doesnt seem to go up and down at the speeds it should. I was going down the motorway and it stayed down until i hit 80. Other times it will go up at 50 and then back down when i drop below 50. Could this be the sensor that goes into the gearbox?
  4. Ok, this problem has just come about. Theres a knocking noise coming from, sounds like, under the floor below the pedals. Seems to get worse at higher speeds, but doesnt seem to do it all the time. Ive had a quick look under the car, but cant see anything obvious. Car has been off the road for 7 months, id heard it happen before it got taken off the road, but thought it was just the exhaust rattling. Exhaust has been replaced and since car has been back on road (a mere couple of days) the knocking has become more frequent. Any ideas?

    welcome mark!
  6. I see your point Jim. Its like anything, produce a 5000 engines, at least one could have a gremlin. So is the problem not covered by warrenty and if not why? Its not general wear and tear thats for sure.
  7. Yeah i think youre suppose to have a plastic bit on the end of the wire goes through the small loop the wire feeds through. Its tapered and can be tightened or loosened to adjust. look on ETKA
  8.:lol::lol: LMFAO! Well im convinced. Automatics are fun! That engine sounds powerful! I was waiting for the gear lever to break off in his hands.
  9. nice one! Wish mine was that cheap , only a few more years til Full NCB! :)

really, ok ill give it a shot. Thing is if those fuses were blown wouldnt the MFA not work at all and spoiler not work? Cheers fellas
  12. yeah there is a special VAG tool for it, wonder how much that will set you back!
  13. 99ron at Tesco in Leeds £1.08p  madness! At least Optimax seems cheap in comparison

What about if the MFA works, but clock and trip reset when ignition is turned off and back on. Also the interior light doesnt work, nor does the light for the vanity mirror, any connection between these probs? checked the fuses and non seem to have blown.
  16. Someone may come along and correct me, But when i changed the belt (along with pulley), i had to remove the nut at the top of the tensioner and slide it off of the bolt. It then slackens the belt and allows you to remove the belt to replace it. I found that getting the tensioner back on was the tricky part. Its a case of pushing down on the tensioner as hard as you can and slipping it back onto the bolt. I spent a good hour if not more trying to get it back on and i ended up snapping the end of the bolt off, So had to be replaced. Nice to see another Yorkshire lad on the forum! :)
  17. IMO i prefer the grille eyebrow combo over the seperate grille and eyebrow. I used to have the seperate and i think the combo looks better :)
  18. HEH, i used the Halfrauds stuff too, cant remember the name, but you probably all know what it is anyway. I got a real Sh!tty finish with them so i bought the remover (also from frauds £10 for it  ). I found the remover made the paint go gunky and was a b!tch to get off.
  19. Slangwerks, in my case theyd insure me just with higher premiums until the they saw the certificate.
  20. Whats the snag on getting the rado insured on classic insurance. Is there limited mileage etc?
  21. Again my girlfriend has said (due to myself losing the certificate in a home move) i could go down to VAG and they'd take a look and give me a new certificate. Apparently anyway, ive not actually rang and asked yet.
  22. hmmm, i had mine insured for around £950 fully comp 4 years no claims, 23 years old. I also have a IN10 (no i dont make the habit of not having insurance, picked new car up with out ins... my bad) and also 3 points for speeding. Still not too bad premiums
  23. I dont know why they need the exact make. My girlfriend used to work for Tesco insurance, the actual make of your immobiliser doesnt change the premium, only the fact that you have one will. Obviously they'll need to see the certificate
  24. Supercharged, will a later wing with a early bonnet and slam panel make the top of the wing sit out a bit on the leading edge to the bonnet? If so this may solve my bonnet problem.
