Im not sure if it is illegal or not. Itd be nice to be able to remove them, but what are the safty implications. If a car is facing the side of you will it be able to see your rear indicator showing your intentions.
-
can that be done without ruining the finish on the wheels?
-
what if you do it and either you dont like it or it goes wrong? what then?
-
ah right, cheers for that. Bit of piece of mind.

As a write off??? Another quick Q. I had a crash in my G60, not a bad one. But bad enough for it to cost too much to fix. So technically its a write off. But i decided to take teh car and fix it myself. What happens now? do i have to inform DVLA or IS it wrote off at all?????
-
yeah thats true. just hassle though

So is there any truth in what ive heard on here, about them introducing a policy in march 06 where all cars (if they came out of factory with a cat) must have the cat fitted? Need a new exhaust and i was going to go for the de-cat but since hearing that im not too sure. Dont want to spend cash on the de-cat if its a must!
-
yeah, ive being living with the annoying matts that have minds of their own. Gets under the accelerator prob. Velco sounds like a good idea, done properly like. That SHOULD hold em with a plus side of being able to remove them when cleaning.

ok mate cheers, will do. Ta very much!

Its a nice healthy (ish) addiction!

yeah thats it you see the intercooler on ebay is at a tenner at mo. Had offers for some for £60. Looked on g-werks site, it £135 for the intercooler on there, presumably its a golf mk 2
-
Hi. Is it the intercooler or oil cooler (or are they the same thing) which is behind the front bumper pass side behind fog and indicator?? ive had a bump and i need a new one. Seen a corrado G60 one on ebay going cheap and ive bid on that. But can i replace it with a MK2 Golf one as ive heard this is the best thing to do isnt it?

Crashed: Car at home now...to assess fixability
Critical_Mass replied to Taggart's topic in General Car Chat
yeah sorry to hear about that mate, glad youre ok. Had a crsh myself christmas eve of all times. Not much damage at all, but enough to rack up 1600 quids worth of parts from VAG tutut. Therefore insurance wouldnt fix it so ive taken the task on. Got all the parts i want for £260 YEY! Dont be too suprised if they write it off mate :( -
There possibly was but it happened awhile ago and the memory is vague. Yeah it scared me sh*tless too. Its visible when the pipes are attached and tightened together correctly. Not just when the pipes are seperate

Running a '91 G60 Ive noticed that that is some oil round the join between the harder plastic pipe and the rubber one coming from the throttle body. Where the jubilee clip holds them together. Is this right? I was driving down A1 once when i heard a pop but car didnt feel too bad. It was the pipe that had come away from each other. (didnt notice i wasnt getting any boost, car felt normal). When id got my car back from having charger rebuild. The garge that took charger out and back in, failed to tighten the jubilee clip. I noticed there were traces of oil around the pipe. Should there be oil in that pipe. It leads to the intercooler doesnt it? That cant be good!

What an idiot. Yeah i know what you mean by feeling vunerable when not wearing a seat belt. Amazing how safe it makes you feel.

Hi all! You may have read my post requesting parts. This was due to an accident i had last week. I damaged the front pass corner of car. Its fixable but insurance are saying its too expensive (cos the barstewards wont use second hand parts). But back to the point. After i had the crash the rear spoiler has stopped working, any ideas what it is? Thought a fuse, but how has the crash caused a fuse to blow. Now its stuck up. It was down when i had the crash and i used the manual button to put it up, but down on the button doesnt work. It doesnt go up or down automatically either. Least of my probs at mo but i need to find out why incase it effects anything else.

is it a double filament. I put a single one in my brakes once accidently. the front side lights came on when i broke. Dunno if this is similar prob.

Critical_Mass replied to H8RRA's topic in General Car Chat
Post pics tomorrow. Some fool decided to reverse into his drive on a dual carriageway. Had to stop in road to do it. i hit side of him. Was hoping itd be ok but after seeing that fence incident im not to optimistic, not sure if they'll fix or tech write off..... pics to follow -
PLus you can only drive one at a time. yes each one will have their own characteristics BUT id still much rather have a veyron
-
Yeah i agree with steve_16v. It looks especially like the F1 at the front but as for the rear not sure. Still, has to be the Veyron all the way, BABY I WANT THAT CAR! come on santa ive been good over the last year! sort of! hehehe. Id have both if given to me. But if i had to spend the cash on one and money as being no object, id get the Veyron. May be stupid saying that but still. Thats my dream car, bar the rado. Is the spoiler on the veyron actually automatic. First time ive seen the Veyron (other then the prototype) on Topgear. Old Clarkson had to pull up, open the door and put the key in the key slot to lower the spoiler. If it IS automatic that would be so sweet! Apparently according to Bugatti you have to do a series of checks once spoiler is lowered. Imagine doing that all the time.
-
Veyron no contest, but i wouldnt say no to the saleen. Still a nice car.

Ive turned into a old fart since ive had the C ????
Critical_Mass replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in General Car Chat

[Whisper] 7/10 you say, theres better tyres out there you're saying then. What about firestones? OR Pirellis with the wise slogan, power is nothing with out control, how true!
