What americans do to corrados on there spair time
Critical_Mass replied to ToffeeRado's topic in General Car Chat
shame on you! poor rados :( I would put mine on the drive not going anywhere, rather than chopping it up. Still plenty of glue and itll be good as new. -
tried the website for corrado club UK. does work. seems its moved. Anyone got the sight that works, id like to join. Thanks
-
yeah thats right mate. Yours will be the later one. Do the earlier ones have no bulge at all and its a flat bonnet? mine has a bulge but its not too noticable
-
i feel for ya chrishill, had a red 2.0 8v (ok the slowest out of the bunch, but still it ws my first rado). Someone in front of me coming off motor way pissed the driver off in front of THEM, he subsequently slammed his brakes on to get back at him. bloke in front of me stopped, i didnt. Was doing 45, what a mess. What made it worse is it wasnt a straight out right off. It was a technical right off.Still it enabled me to get a G60 :D loads more fun. It takes a piece of your soul with it when you right off a rado :(

LOL GO GREEN, dont forget the corsas. It doesnt matter how fast their festers, novas or corsa are, Theyre still festers, nova or corsas. Fecking hate corsas. Every young lad has them. Bar me, i went the big boys route of getting the rado
-
Erm yeah sorry those smiths were ugly things. Youre likely to be seen on a corsa or a old nova. You got some pics of the wheels on the car ilovemycar?
-
oh and the little dial type thing next to the lights is the dimmer for the clocks and digitals. Not much use really, just leave it on high. Sounds like you need to check the bulbs in the buttons, they may have blown.
-
lol simple way of finding out what they do. note the heated rear window switch wont do anything too noticable straight away. But yeah the pics on the buttons are generally self explanatory. Incase you dont know, the headlight/side light switch to the right of steering wheel has to be pressed in once for for sidelights and again for headlights.
-
ah yeah of course, the arches are wider on the late rados. They turn up??? any pics of both to compare anyone?
-
me either mate. Like what was explained to me earlier, it was a progressive transition rather then a sudden change. Arent sure what the differences are though
-
Ahhhh savage ey. Now i know what to get when i want to do it again (stuck the standard lights back on). That stuff from Halfords was cack. Cheers for that gradeA. :)
-
nah i dont think you can put it all down to how people open the door. granted yeah people do pull the door rather then open it properly. but regardless you they have a tendancy to break
-
mine cant be too bad suspension wise then. Standard suspension with 17s and 205/40 17 tyres. Its stance is slightly higher then dazzyvr6's
-
the kits are well worth the money. Looking at them they dont look fragile, look tough enough to last another 13 years.
-
Aye i have to agree with jenks. I sprayed the bottom half of my clear rear clusters. The section in rear lights and fog on the boot lid were ok. They could be held flat. But spraying the corner clusters was a nightmare. You ended up with the paint running if you put too much of a thick layer of paint on. So take it easy. BUT also you can get bubbles in the paint. That paint from halfords is quite pricey. 15 quid for a small aerosol and if you need it 9.99 for the remover. Which just seems like nail varnish remover. Strong stuff if you have to remove all the paint again. Ventilation is paramount.

You'll need the door open to have a look at the lock. Theres a screw on the depth of the door to take out, it allows you to take the handle out. A common design problem on the rado. The handle on mine has broken on both sides (at different times). If it is the door handle thats broken, it will be a little bit of metal thats inside which, when you pull the handle it pivots up and lifts a springed mechanism and releases the latch of the door, heypresdo the door opens. The metal will have broken off, god knows why VW didnt make this out of tougher metal in the first place  Easy to fix, though the bit of metal you need is 30 quid for each side plus pins on ebay. Still its better then buying a new handle for £70+ from VAG and then having to have a seperate key for that door. Look on ebay the bits you need will be on there, search- corrado door handle repair kit. Some thing should come up.

yeah ive got the problem with my G60. The clock and the trip counter keep resetting, could be a lose wire or a fuse. I havent bothered to reset the clock as it happens everytime the ignition is turned off.
-
nah looks fine. Lowered, they look sweet too, but nothing wrong with 17's without lowering. Before i bought the 17s i had the standard BBS 15s. The black trim under the front bumper used to scrape of speed bumps. Hated that. Arent sure why as the wheels are basically the same size. Now i dont have to worry about it. I dont really want to go back to it scraping again thanks.
-
sorry i dont think 17s look too bad and the car isnt riding that high
-
no no no go for the inca blue. look boutiful as benard matthews said.
-
by the way anyone got a G60 grill badge they would like to sell?
-
it has the early grill. And i know the door is a tad off colour. Hoping to get it resprayed soon :) I used to have a 95 2.0 8v and the only difference i could see is the grill
-
so my '91 J registered G60 will be the early one then. Or did it say H abov e and doubt full that it would be J too
