Can't make a decision.....what engine conversion to do????
_Monkey replied to mrbeige's topic in Engine Bay
I know for a 2ltr 16v turbo for 3 grand, you even get the car thrown in...with leather!!:D -
Sweet looking ride mate! I was gonna flush off the handles, but could never get the door poppers reliable enough!!! :? As for ideas, I'd t-cut the damn golf!!!
-
Or I always wire the switched live off the same as the permanent live (yellow). You have to switch off the stereo when you're done, but you can have it on when the key's not in.
-
Sounds like a dodgy switched live (red wire). Like joebloggsVR69 said, probably your ignition switch. Happy Birthday by the way!! :new-bday:

Slightly off topic, but is he the guy to get in touch with to organise stands for the show?
-
Looks good mate, think I'm gonna have to join up!
-
Not sure about the 24, but on the 22, the fitment is VERY tight!!!! I ran with a buggered front mount and broke the actuator bracket against the bulkhead! Lesson hard learnt! It is a little laggy, but when the boost kicks in, the torque is excellent!
-
Ever heard of swg motorsport? The guy there is desiging an airbox for twin inlet chargers. Picture's a bit pants, but you get the idea.
-
I'm just on the lookout for a bottom end i can build up while i'm still running around in mine. Wanna build a 1900 monster so i can really wind the boost up!!! As for the shopping list, i still need: 1900cc : JE Pistons : Forged Rods : Lightened & Balanced : Piper 285 : Aquamist : Pro Alloy intercooler : Greddy Boost Control : Mocal Oil cooler : : 440cc Injectors Oh dear, looks like i'm gonna be spending some cash!!!
-
Well i'm definately on the lookout for a bottom end! (If anybody knows for one!) just realised, we've hijacked the thread!!!
-
I GOTTA get a remap first!! I've just realised tho, your sig is my shopping list!!!
-
Sub installed...........and room for the shopping!

Know what you mean mate, I once had a single 15" hit 142dB only powered off of two rocky 120.2 amps, all that was down to the box. It was damn ugly, but served it's purpose!!! But if you do decide to knock out any more moulds, chalk me down for one! -
You'd see a benifit straight away without a map, but a map would bring more out. I can't say what it would do for a normal G60, but a big valve head made a BIG difference to mine!
-
STOP SAYING THAT!!!!!!! I keep wanting to wind out that bleed valve!!!!!
-
I'd sell 8 of them now, Then hang on to the other two for a decade or so and then make some BIG money off of them!
-
Hey mate, Def liking the interior mods! :thumbleft: Gonna have to do that heater control one myself!
-
Thing is, the turbo has to work harder because the engine is using up more of the boost in the system, it's a good thing. For example, my car was pushing out about 220bhp on 14psi, I've put a big valve head and flowed manifold on and it's producing more power at only 8-10 psi. At the end of the day (and someone correct me if I'm wrong) boost is simply unsued air in the manifold. Ask henny what boost his G60 is running!
