  1. Thanks for all the advice guys! I've looked into the Toyota one a little more and they seem to have a high turnover of staff, looking deeper and it's not the job it's cracked up to be, especially if I gotta drive 80 miles to get to it every day! So I've turned it down and gotten a couple more lined up (interview on saturday!). But I'll follow your advice and take whatever I can get, then if I do land the VW one, I'll go for it! (can you say G R O U P B U Y???)
  2. Yeah, but all our cars would be knackered! No break pads, no tyres, dead suspension........ Would be fun though!
  3. Just what I was thinking-If you don't like the noise, move! I'll have your house! Come to think of it, you could make a small fortune renting it out to petrol heads like us!
  4. I've been applying to a few jobs since the loss of my last job a few weeks ago. I've applied for a position in a VW dealership local to me and would love the job. Yesterday I was offered a position in a Toyota import centre fitting the alarms in all the new Toyotas as they come off of the boat, there's potential to make good money from it, but the thing is it's 7-4 shifts and an 80 mile round trip to work! However today VW have contacted me saying that they'll let me know about interviews by the end of next week, when I told Toyota I'd let them know by the end of today. So do I take a job that could end up not being what I really want, but could make good money from, or knock it back and hold out for a possibility of the holy grail?
  5. The miserable locals have been trying to close Castle Combe for years, recently CC were forced to impose sound restrictions because of the complains of four locals! Please follow the link and show your support, cos I, for one love going round there! http://www.support-castlecombe.co.uk/ Cheers guys !
  6. Cheers Si, I wonder just how many drugs you have to take before something like that starts to look good! :confused4:
  7. Think my internet explorer must be knackered, because I'm seeing a saxo....I think!
  8. Whatta site!!! Found this:
  9. How about a MK2 Gti 8v? You can pick up a half way decent one for under 500, there's more parts for them than you can shake a spanner at, mine averages at 33mpg (and I DON'T drive it nice!), it's quick enough to scare other 'fast' cars on the road, they can go on forever and if the engine does eventually let go, Big Boys Toys can get you a brand new, fully rebuilt one for around 500! Not to mention you still get to drive a VW!!
  10. How about 2k!!!
  11. Think so, back pressure is quite important. Correct me if I'm wrong but I think book speeds, a standard G60 is slower than a MK2 16v anyway.
  12. You could ring up Jabba and ask them very nicely if they'll tell you what they've done to it.
  13. 10 seconds??? I never rag ANY car from cold ESPECIALLY a G60!!!!!
  14. Errr, no you don't!! There's nothing wrong with a healthy (or unhealthy) Volkswagen addiction!!! 8)
  15. That's nothing short of amazing! I've got a VW motoring mag where some guy has a Mk1 with delivery milage that he'd FORGOTTEN about and left in a barn!!! Mint just isn't the word!
  16. Had to raise it up on the back today due to scrubbage, it wasn't fun with completely seized coilovers! All I can say I'm now a believer in wynns super rust penetrator!!! Thanks to rallyejimbo too, for his help with the beating stick! :thumbleft: Olly, no mate, it was the original reason for going up too! NOT amused! Si, didn't get a chance to look around it, only noticed it as I was going out, what was it having done?
  17. At the risk of repeating everyone else Those rims sooo suit the car! :thumbleft: Looking good mate!
  18. Cheers guys :) 2 Months! Bet your missing it! Mind you know just how you feel, they had mine for 3 and a half when they were doing the turbo conversion. You car was just outside the gates, it was so dirty I nearly missed it! I was at Jabba to fix the actuator bracket that broke when the turbo was hit against the bulkhead when the engine mount let go, and to get the fueling sorted after I swapped the head. Unfortunately, one of the screws that held the bracket on ripped the thread out of the hole on it's way out, so now I gotta take the turbo off and re-tap the hole in the turbo so I can mount the actuator safely! Remember, if your front mount looks a bit ill, REPLACE IT sharpish!!!
  19. Cheers guys, IHIG60 Thanks for the heads up, but i think that's my mate rallyejimbo so it's all good. Will let you know how it handles once i've been able to give the arches a little loving! By the way, did I see your car up Jabba today? Bally Yeah mate, he seems like a nice bloke, they were a real bargain!
  20. Well the turbo is still out of action, I've got the actuator bracket fixed, just neet to re-tap the turbo where it bolts on. But more importantly, I have just put some new rims on the Raddo and it's looking better then ever! They're Brock B2's 7.5 on the front and 9 on the rear! Just gotta do a little arch modding now.......
  21. Valve amps are still the clearest ones you can get! Bloody innefficient though! Fair play Neil, if it sounds half as good as it looks, you should be deaf by the time you read this!!!
  22. Phat is deffinately the word for it! :thumbleft:
