  1. Was hoping to meet you with the car at a show sometime, congratulations on a successfully project and goodluck on the next one!
  2. Make sure you have the wierd orange rubbery bit at the front in, else that will make it wobble aswell
  3. Unquestionable a beautiful car and i bet the hours spent on it are frightening (let alone the ££). You'll cry when that thing drives of into the sunset!! Are you planning on sticking with corrado's or trying something different? Cant wait to see what you produce next.
  4. My bolt-like fixing wasn't long enough to retain the original oil cooler so i had to bypass it by joining the water pipes. My cooler is in the same location as CorradoVR6-n.o.s but a little lower and fixed to the crossmember as i didn't want it connected to the slam panel.

With the lighter days and nicer weather ive actually done some work to the corrado. Powerflex bushes front and back, which forced me into swapping the front subframe/wishbones because a bolt snapped. FK Highsports + 4wheel alignment, Front engine / Gearbox mounts, Mocal oil cooler. I think shes starting to come together and cant wait to sort the odd paint blemishes / lack of beige leather
  7. Am looking to start taking mine to the track but i doubt the car will be ready this summer. Ive also gotta get some light 16" alloys which will fit over my brakes before i even think about it. Im a little weary because i'd prefere to go around relatively slowly at first to get a feel for it but it would probably piss everybody else off.
  8. On my 1.8 16v Corrado there was a vacuum hose to the back of the clocks.
  9. Despite the empty wallet, scraped knuckles and dirty fingers owning a corrado is still really rewarding. The corrado itself is very reliable and would have cost me nothing sofar if i treated it like 'car'. To outsiders (girlfriend / parents) I look like right wierdo spending hours battling against a rusty old bolt and taking pleasure in my victory over it! But it makes me smile when i get it back on the road on a sunday night ready for work on monday and the car feels even better. Even the girlfriend is starting to secretly enjoy the attention you get from strangers, especially since ive chucked some shiney alloys on!
  10. stupid question i guess but really didn't want to break the little bugger.
  11. Going off topic alittle, how do i remove the plastic bracket that holds the ABS cable guide to the strut? It should just pop apart by the looks of it but im a little heavy handed and dont want to break it!
  12. This hose went on me last week, cost me £37 from the stealers.
  13. nearside looks to have alot more positive camber than the offside?
  14. At the moment im wishing i'd bought a nice £3-4k vr6 instead of this 1500quid heap of junk parked on my drive at the moment! arrrgh! Still love the bloody thing though for some reason
  15. get a nice vr6, cant go wrong!
  16. I have updated the vag-com codes with the descriptions, i was thinking the dirty plugs are a seperate issue (cylinder 1 burning oil) and might not be linked to this problem. When i cleaned the MAF connections it ran like a dream for the rest of the day then was shit again the next morning :/
  17. Thanks for the idea, i will check the plug/wiring tonight but is there any way of checking if its dud without replacing it? Perhaps with a current/continuety tester?
  18. Forgot to mention that cleaned the MAF connector with electronic connection cleaner but it hasn't improved things. I also unplugged it while the car was running so that might have caused one of the fault codes? fyi once unplugged the car gasped for air but kept running and only stalled when i tried to give it some throttle.
  19. The corrado's has developed a pretty bad idle problem. When you start the car you have to throttle it gently for 2-3minutes. If you dont gently caress the peddle at all it simple stalls and if you dont do it for long enough it will hunt for a while until it settles. Once you get going you are generally ok, but 2/10 times it will stall as you put your foot on the clutch at junctions. Today i could feel a very strange but slight pulsation of power as i coast along at fairly low speeds (30odd) and it even went through a wierd kangaroo stage of what felt like short stalls which lasted around 5seconds (4-6 mini stalls in total). I got home and plugged in vag-com and got the following readings: 00543 - Maximum Engine Speed Exceeded 00553 Mass Air Flow Sensor - G70 01257 Idle Air Control Valve -N71 00533 Idle Air Control Regulation 00513 which could be: P0506 Engine Speed Sensor - G28 - Idle RPM Too Low B P0507 Engine Speed Sensor - G28 - Idle RPM Too High B Engine Speed Sensor - G28 - Signal Malfunction I then cleared the codes and took it for a short trip around the block where it stalled once at a junction, but no codes came up on vag-com when i got back. The car seems to be running rich, as the exhaust tip is very black and on startup the fumes smell like petrol. I changed the plugs/leads three months ago and checked them tonight: Plug 1 - Very very bad, coated in burn and totally black. Plug 2 - Electrodes darkish gray but rim below them had burn on it. Plug 3 - Same as 2 Plug 4 - Electrodes lighter gray than 2-3 but rim below them had burn on it. Plug 5 - same as 4 Plug 6 - Electrodes nice shade of gray and only a small amount of burn around the rim. Any advice greatly recieved.
  20. Look good mate, mine are still sat in the corner of the living room waiting to be fitted :E
  21. You have to give it some gentle throttle for 5minutes after startup to stop the fucking thing hunting / stalling.
  22. Sounds good! Ive booked the whole of next week off so i have 9 full days to work on the corrado! Things waiting to be fitted: Subframe / ARB / wishbones with poly bushes Highsports and topmounts etc 310mm 6pots and braided hoses 17" cup 3 turbo's Oil cooler with oil change / new filter Hope it goes relatively smoothly
  23. Not keen on ford Ka's but you can write "Ulrikakaka KA" on the back when its dirty! haha
