Ive a mate whos currrently got his MK2 Golf GTI at TSR, for alot of engine work - one of their packs with rebored block and new pistons etc. Was supposed to be waiting a week, currrently been 4, and wont get it till this w/end. Apparently the pistons werent ordered from Germany until theyd had the car for a couple days. Where abouts are Big Boys Toys? Got a website?

Ive only seen 2 in the 9 months ive owned mine... :( -
Because mine is broken :( Ive got the dreaded G60 oil light flashing at me once its warmed, and after a garage inspection i have been told its on its last legs with next to no compression. On the cards is a TSR 2.0 G60 engine, or just a new G60 engine. Agreed, until i get a black one.

New engine... audi door handles, alarm, and bit of smoothing. Then Ill be saving for some new wheels, and seats!

I spent saturday cleaning the car, and managed to get out to take a few pics, so thought id post them up. Apologies in advance if the pictures do something bizarre, as i seem to have been having some trouble recently. Spec: G60 with drilled airbox and k&n panel, FK Highsports (lowered about 80mm), FK de-badged grill, de-side-stripped (?), all red rear lights, Aero Wipers, German plates, Powerflow exhaust, JVC touchscreen cd/mp3 player complimented with infinity 6x9's.

Ive only just started to read this post, and saw this comment. May i just say that is an amazing change, and awesome to hear. I personally really appreciate this. Had a look round the site too, and looking very flash, but i wasnt allowed to look at the adaptors for some reason, but it maybe a work in progress. :)

Thanks, its all just a lot of numbers to me! I didnt think 4 to 5 stud was possible without changing some of the running gear, but its good to know!
-
mike_g60, surely yours is a G60 with 4 stud wheels, whereas the porka rims are 5 stud? How are you fitting them? Or are the adaptors 4 to 5 stud?

Do you have acid rain in ireland...?

I would certainly be interested in a group buy for these, but am in no rush, so if or whenever it happens, ill just keep my eyes peeled. They are a bit of a marmite product, but i like them personally, and hate marmite.

Does anybody know what wheels they are on the red one?!

Is that not the dub-design industries car without audi lights?

I saw a dark (blue i think) VR6 (again i think - it was dark!) just past the bath & west showground on Friday night. The guy driving was wearing a suit too!! I dont see many. I did give a little wave, but no response - he looked to be on a mission. -
Ive been babbling on about it a bit recently, but Audi Door handles are a must for me.
-
OK, i prefer by the plastic you mean the white membrane stuff, that i had to peel back (and just removed) in order to remove my door handle. I think I was more alarmed by the sight of all the wet crap at the bottom more than the holes, but i guess it is a 14 year old car, and the membrane looked factory, so its not too bad!
-
For the last week ive been driving with no door card in my drivers door, and ive noticed that, along with all the crap at the bottom of the door, there are holes in it too! They dont look bodged in or anything, but its letting in water, enough to make me wonder whether its a good thing or not. Pic attached to show hole and moisture (oo-er!)

Im looking at buying a couple of doors from ebay and chopping and then fitting to my door now, rather than the kits. Has anybody actually done this? It makes sense if its cheaper, but ive never heard of anybody doing it! Also I know there are the A3 and A6 conversions, but would an A4 door handle fit? Im sure it could be 'made' to fit the outside, but what about the mechanism on the inside?
-
daves16v - I bought one of his door handle repair kits but was too dumb to fit it myself. So i sent back the kit and my door handle, it was returned the day after he recieved it. Good as new, or actually better than new!! Cannot thank him enough. Not only a good salesman, but clearly an awesome bloke aswell.

And can we see?

Youre sick you are!! -
My reaction too!! Im absolutely stunned and amazed at how much detail youve gone to. Cant wait to see this car in the metal.
-
Im sure youve parked in tight car park spaces with less space than that, and had no problems?

I had a Powerflow system put on about 2 months ago by Top Gear in Bridport. I went with the closest thing they had to standard for the tailpipe, and 2.5" through. Its the first upgraded exhaust Ive bought, and im pretty pleased. It is a bit loud for me, but bearable, and has a nice exhaust 'burble' at idle. The welder had a problem with the end of the pipe getting it out the back because my car is so low, but they managed and the welding is pretty neat.
