Corrado spotting! Was it you - [October 2005]
Nick replied to Andy Brookes's topic in General Car Chat
My mate saw a black (or at least dark colour) C parked outside his house in Templecombe, dorset... I didnt see, but said id mention it. Its been there a few times. Any takers on here? -
Can i just say that i like your car very much!! And that link you gave in your first post...picture number 6...makes me sick with envy. Beautiful.
-
Why? If you dont mind me asking...
-

-

Just went to see a local garage about getting some advice regarding my coilovers. They said they can fit them, and do the tracking and camber for £140. Seems like a good price, i was expecting more like £200 - £250. What has anybody else paid?
-
Ok, just searching around, and found this pic: http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/download.php?id=22846 in the 'wanted' section, belonging to ross.taylor. Ignore his arrow, but look at his top mounts, they look to me to be raised slightly, just like mine! (here http://public.fotki.com/Nickers/coilove ... e_top.html ) But they werent like it before!! Whats right? AARRRGGGHHH!!
-
Coilovers still... Got my new springs: http://public.fotki.com/Nickers/coilove ... pring.html And my old springs : http://public.fotki.com/Nickers/coilove ... pring.html I need to clarify what parts from the old i transfer to the new, as after an unsuccessful phonecall to my local VW garage, they dont know what top mounts are... On the old springs, under that rubber mount (pictured - top mount?) is some bearings that sit on another rubber piece? Correct? Do i then transfer just the bearings and top mount onto the metal top part of the coilover? (pictured) and bolt up? Also, does anyone have the part number for the G60 top mount so i can annoy my garage? Front and back. :)

24V Renshaw - 24V V6 - Just read the whole thread!!!!

I think it was an excuse to do a few more things before any shoots!! lol. Looking good, as always, looking forward to 'finished' pics. :) -
gradeAfailure, I stole it from the 'favourite C pics' thread in off-topic chat! lol.

Right, ive seen the picture attached and its just one of those things id really like to have on my c. As i understand these are Audi A4 lights? How? Are they a direct replacement or is there alot of messing around involved? I dont think its a very common mod, so i imagine theres quite a bit of work involved to do it. Any comments are appreciated.

I know for a fact that my car needs its tracking sorted, but thats because i played with the suspension, it was doing this noise a long while ago, so ill check the belts and my fluids (if you pardon the expression)
-
My C seems to have developed a problem. On most occasions, when at full lock, my car starts to make a horrible squeeling sound. I thought it was just rubbing, but it happens even when im at full lock stationary, in both directions. Any ideas?
-
Are all of these legal? Pass an MOT etc?
-
Theres quite a few rado's from people on here. All throughout. A20 LEE's is used as in the 'subscribe' section or somewhere like that.
-
Have you tried the venom website...? Click show cars and you can see a red C is still owned! http://www.venommotorsport.com/
-
Mate, thats spot on. I appreciate you taking the time so much. Are those VAG ones? Expensive?
-
The pic of my car with the top mounts slightly protruding (sp) is as they are now, without the coilovers on. (it isnt however standard, its got 80mm lowering springs on) But once built, and coilovers on, it still looked the same. Could anyone else provide a pic of their engine bay with fk's? *edit* Just realised - what exactly do you need to re-use from the old set-up with coilovers?
-
Ok...im a little confused. If i asked you very nicely mr Haywire sir, is there anychance you could take a pic of what yours looks like. And also, could you draw an arrow onto the pic of the blue G60 posted up by Bix when you refer to "the big nut that shouldnt be there". Sorry to be a pain, but i want to get this right.
-
The pictures of the top mounts are taken when the cars wheels are on, and is sat on the floor, ready to drive. Is this still how it should be? And yes it can be moved around when jacked up. Thanks, youve all been most helpful : :notworthy:
-
Thats right? Thats how it should look? Poking out the top 5mm ish? That means it was wrong in the first place?
-
I made absolute sure what it was like, and then even took measurements of the length of thread of top screw, and things like that because i knew it wasnt gonna be plain sailing! it never is! The roads around here are pretty bumpy, and i took it out for a quick hard spin at lunch and it seemes fine as it is, no clunking. I'll get some top mounts ordered up, but if that doesnt solve it i dont know what ill do as i dont want it to be a temporary, and have to drive around slow everywhere! Cheers for your help though guys. :)

I figured it must be reasonably safe to drive on as it isnt going to "pop out", due to the construction, but it wasnt like that to begin with! Bix, thats exactly what mine look like now. How long have you been driving like that? Any problems? Can anybody else shed some light? As many different photos or opinions or experiences as possible would be very helpful! Thanks in advance!
