Thanks for your advice Henny, but I changed the lambda probe last week. The CO levels were super high before I did this but haven't checked since. It definately didn't make a difference to the fuel economy though and I'm not sure if I'm still spitting flames. The next thing to change is the flange that attaches to the head that houses the coolant sensors, as I can see a bit of white residue underneath so assume its leaking water. I have also got new sensors as well as I have been told the blue sensor can cause running probs if its dead?! I will check boost hose and other vacuum pipes as well over weekend. Cheers

I worked out after topping up a few times that I'm only getting 12mpg  The MFA has a much more normal reading on it though. I'm having idle problems as well so I don't know if it is related. I've got a few parts to whack on this weekend which hopefully might make a difference

Quality.... I have to admit that when I did my driving experience I was a bit dissapointed with the F355 as well. I had a go in a Formula Ford and a Formula Renault at the same time and they were both amazing- definately recommended! The next one for me is going to be a Rally driving experience!

ok mate I think I might take it up to mastertech and let them have a go. Apparently they have got all the kit that you would find at a dealer and its about the same price that stealth charge. I don't like rsr in sutton they always do a rushed job IMO. If you haven't had much luck with mechanics my mate does all the work on mine, he used to own 2 g60's so is used to working with them. If you want I can give you his number. He's not a VW specialist by any means but he is a good honest bloke, works in a garage on Garth Road if interested.

Thats a bargain. Is it the full 4 wheel laser alignment thingy. Where abouts are you getting it done mate, wouldn't mind having the number if poss? I'm going to get the suspension next week. I've decided to go with the H&R cup kit from g-werks now as it is supposed to be better suited to the 4 cylinder cars than the Koni + H&R combo. Can't wait!

I used to be of the same opinion as you. I used to think that the handling on the standard setup was good anyway so why mess with it. However I have now seen the light! Lowering the car/stiffening suspension will keep the car much flatter and stable through corners. The only downside is that it makes the ride a bit harder so it will not be as comfortable. To answer your other question a car that has been lowered will go round a corner much faster than a c with standard suspension. If you can afford it go with the Koni H&R combo as it is still quite comfy on a vr. Have a look at triggermyson's gallery as he is running speedlines with a 35mm drop... http://www.the-corrado.net/.archive/forum/viewto ... sc&start=0 I agree with Kev though, if you want to keep the standard height then just get VW parts and forget about the improved handling.

I used gap security on my g60 as well and have had endless problems. They have been out so many times I can't be bothered any more. They now say it is problem with my car

are these camber settings the same for a g60 as they are for a vr6 considering the weight difference?
-
Just given them a call and they do the full geometry setup including camber settings for £90 +VAT. Bit cheaper than £130 quoted by VW! Has anyone used them before? http://www.mastertechs.co.uk/ If not does anyone know anywhere else in the area that can do the geometry setup?

Saw a dark blue VR6 in stoneleigh lunchtime today about 1.30. Very nice and clean. I'm glad who ever it was didn't see me because my car is filthy at the mo!! I think the plate was something like N1 JDU but can't quite remember. Anyone here? -
From what I have heard the Koni Kit has got cheap springs so the ride can sometimes suffer. If people are saying that the Koni TA + H&R combo is a bit crashy on a g60 then what would people recommend? I'm not bothered about adjusting the height and want something fairly comfortable. Has anyone used the H&R cup kit? What is the ride like on this?

nice 1........... :thumb right:

Hi Guys, The water temp gauge on my dash isn't working. (91 G60) Anyone know what sensor it is to check? Cheers
-
all jokes aside.... I have never owned an RS turbo so probably not qualified to answer this but IMO they aren't nearly as bad as RS turbo's (I can remember 1 of my mates having endless problems that ended up costing him a fortune).
-
How dare you! This is a far superior car to an rs turbo. How can you even compare the 2 :D I thought you said you wasn't a boy racer

Hmmm..... they are not the best if you are looking for something fairly economical to run to be honest, but it depends on your priorities. You have to be realistic and any car that is about 15 years old will have some problems even if they are just minor. There are a couple of g60's on autotrader at around the 3K mark. There is a green one with very low mileage or a red one with a private plate worth a few quid! The red one used to belong to my mechanic it has just had a recent supercharger rebuild, although it was done by Jabba, I'm pretty sure it was stage 4 with a chip and pulley as well but it doesn't mention it in the ad. I don't know how close they are to you though?!
-
have to disagree there, I don't know if this happens to all Rado's but my G60 had quite bad laquer peel on the original paint. It looked as though it probably started from stone chips but the way it peeled back was terrible. There was actual bubbles under the laquer that could be moved around if u pressed down on them. I saw the same thing on my mates 16V so don't know if it is a common thing?! Maybe VW used rubbish laquer back then? P.S. If I were you I would spend £2500 on the car and save the other £1000 for all the bits you will have to fix on it!!

Saw a red C this morning in Worcester Park as I was scraping the ice off my car. Didn't get any details though as I was running late for work. The driver shouted something when he drove past. Anyone off here? -
ok cool, cheers trigger

Getting Koni TA's and H&R springs at the end of the month. I have got new top mounts already but was wondering if there is anything else I will need? OR anything else worth doing at same time?
