Tickets just bought for the Sunday. Must admit didn't realise how far across it is but the drive up should be great regardless of which Corrado travels.

Tick VG Original had compression test at DG, 2 cylinders not good which in theory explained why at Stealth when everyone was bang on the money mine was 174BHP. Not that good when it had a rebuild (obviously not that good about 10K before that). I haven't found any differance in spped though if anything its faster as I drive it harder

I too was "thats a Corrado" on seeing the rear quarter for the first time. Did he sell the Corrado as the end picture I saw a VW Carvelle. Now does anyone know the lad Andy. I believe there was a forum member on here who lived in the Oxfordshire area with a blackberry and they turned up at John Ratcliffe which is Oxford. He is obviously a VW nut as pictures and Statue of VW Camper in house

I know where you are coming from there. I am toying with the idea of selling the Turbo and I am getting terrified thinking what sort of loss I will have The fun has been had so time to sort the original.

The corrado enjoys the odd stall or two. The problem with an erratic idle is and I speak from personal experiance it can be anything. ISV, MAF sensor, Cam shaft sensor, hole in pipes etc etc. I don't want to dampen the spirits but mine still has the problem 6 years on. It is very isolated which makes it worse. It wont stall for weeks then 2 or 3 times in a day.

Gents sorry will not be attending this show now. Was hoping to have 889 back from DG so that I could use the Volksfest as a tester for selling. Since I won't have it back I have decided to re-adjust what shows I go to what with the cost involved. Will catch up with you at another show Cheers

I have agreed with all the comments on this thread. The Government really needs to re-think this, but will not. People who don't insure their car now will not do later. Insurance needs to be cheaper or if you do not claim go down each month until you are paying a minimal amount. 20 years of driving not claimed once, cheapest insurance 400 dearest 980 so lets average at 600 x 20 = 12000 pounds given in insurance FOR WHAT!!!. Kid brother and I where talking about insuring the driver. We reckon the best way is in valuation order. So insure is put in catergories 0-10000, 10000-20000 and so on. If I drive my dailies the beast is worth the most; so I would pay to be in the 10000 and below category and am entitled to drive any car full comp valued in that category. All we need is backers, an office, admin staff, knowledge on running a business and we'll get straight on it. I reckon we would have every single person in the UK changeing over to us. To end with an insured driver can only drive 1 car at a time.

My passenger door handle on the original has been getting a bit difficult to open, anyhow having a day off work waiting for a boiler repairman to arrive (you know the customary anytime between 0800-1800) just to narrow it down meant I was able to clean the car. Once hoovered / polished I decided to fix door handle, after messing a bit with it I went to put the handle back on and realised the retaining screw was missing lost in the void that is a gravel drive. After numerous attempts at raking and a keen vision at the stones I gave up and took the screw from the beast. So can anyone provide me with a retaining screw for the door handle please

Sorry to hear this Jake. Same with my original when it went to DG, only two of mine though snag is its still returning 30ish on fuel and not burning any oil. I know it is fubar'd but it makes driving it so much better as you can't break something thats broke. I will be going for the 12v originality with the 263 cams and obd2 rewire when she does finally give up.

Not quite today but at the weekend I had to fix my drivers door after the internals snapped. Luckily having been with Corrado's for years this was the 3rd time I have had to do this and it went without to much trouble and now the door handle feels as good as new again.

I'm in please. Will do the campin if I can find a tent :lol:
