  1. Is everything in the drivetrain powdercoated, or did you use some other stuff on the wishbones etc?.... Haven't made up my mind just yet what I'l do with mine, either powdercoat or some sort of epoxy.
  2. Was what I was thinking also, about the power wash........:) atleast the wheel bay I cleaned seem to be in good nick, seem like I only come down to the original paint, and not bare metal...:)
  3. Yea would be cool if anyone in here owns that one!......:)
  4. yea, was looking at that thread, must confess I haven't read it all, but quite a bit.....:) So bottom line then is that I could well go for the V1 over V3 f.ex (I'm only be doing road driving). thnx...:)
  5. I'm soon going to order new suspension parts for my VR6, and I'm looking for setup that's not too "harsh" but still firm, would either of the KW's V1, V2, V3 be an OK choice for such?. Also tips on what I should choose of the ones would be appreciated, can't decide between V1, V2 and V3....;)
  6. sorry to see that.......looking forward to go off my shift again in 14 days time and get things going again, getting these things in for blasting and having a trip to a collegue to get them coated.......some of the drivetrain things I think I might just get coated at the place that does the blasting.....
  7. thnx for the offer, but I live on the other side of the country (west coast - Bergen), and guess the shipping here would also be quite a bit......is he going by car btw?.
  8. Anyone know if the heat shield in the rear bumper (the metal plate covering half of the bumper) is same on a G60 as on the VR6?. Also anyone got any idea if the stealers still have them, and a rough price?.,... mine is rusted to pieces.....;)
  9. Tryed to contact AwesomeGTI with some questions, but doesn't seem they reply, is there anyone else that might ship overseas?, doesn't seem like venom offer shipping oversead (living in Norway myselfe). Also fab if they have things like samco's also etc....:)
  10. Just recently started to clean up the wheel bays for dirt and loose underseal, most of it seem to be in good nick though, and if I have understood you guys correct I could leave the old underseal that's ok, and just paint on the VW underseal thingy?.. Does it matter if some of it comes on top of the old one?, ie does it have to be masked of?. Also any tips on what one could ude to paint it afterwards? Also could I clean it with a power-washer and water?, or should I keep water away?.... cheers!
  11. ok, I presume it was totaly down to bear metal?.. Also did you have any base coating on it?
  12. oki, do you have a picture of the block, just before you painted it?, how did you strip it down/clean it?...cheers!
  13. looking good, what paint u used on the engine/trans?.
  14. not mine in the pic if you thought that. Mine is on standard speedlines, It came with some 17" borbet's but they rubbed a bit in the rear, and I think they where to big in the front, so put them over on my Passat VR6 instead. so realy can't say, sorry..:)
  15. What you recon on the suspension yourself, I'm having a dabble with myselfe either go back to original suspension (trying to keep it as original as possible), or going for some of the KW's suspensions..........I want "driveability" not "kidney crusher"......:)
  16. I'm afraid I'l never stop.........ohh well.......
  17. hehe, yea I can order online, but these parts I would want to have the originals from VW, not sure if I can find a dealer online that sell those......ohh well guess it eventually will be a trip to Berlin....lol...:)
  18. Good to hear there are more people in the same boat.........it's turning into an obsession........I'v gone as far as buying new bolts from the stealership for the drivetrain ++......I guess there will be more....lol......:) we'l get there in the end.....;)
  19. Nice to see a ripped up Corrado taken back to it's former glory....:)
  20. thnx, will take some time though, so not sure I get it "road" ready this summer, but anyway will hopefully finnish it during summer........ready for next summer (taxes on it will go down by roughly £1000 next year also so might want to hold on doing it road legal in Norway...;) ) Might end up going to Germany to get some of the oem parts as the local stealership have crazy prices.......(a bit under £300 for the 3 engine mounts)...;)
  21. sonicriot: It's this guy (as if you didn't know)...lol:
  22. Or why not just rely on this guy:
  23. hmm, ok, will be an eventuall future project (somewhere far into the future I guess), but would it use the same sensors etc?........or much difference here?
  24. If for some reason, and I highly doubt it TORX should let you down, there is one last thing I could reccomend: Drill crown from a oil well drilling:
