  1. ok, so it's not like the gas itselfe is "toxic"?......but will try to get it vacuumed if I do anything to it.........maybe I should just get it checked and keep it as it is, it's just some of the connections seem to be a bit corroded on the outside.....
  2. yea, not doing the bottom end, only blasting the block and paint it, atleast the plan, will do chain and clutch, and blast the intake etc, blast the drivetrain and paint it, and treat it inside with some underseal cover. changing all the bearings etc......:)
  3. hehe, yea, found out today, ther was one ba*** hiding for me, took me 5 minutes after a fresh start today....ohh well....:)
  4. yea, would hope it should do that, but all the aluminium on the car have all these white "salt" dots on it (why much of it will get powdercoated), or blasted and set in with WD40 as I'v been tipped about. So hopefully will work out in the end..lol...:)
  5. yea, the pump works find, it was me who bent the bracket, or rather I eventually broke a piece of it, but still can't get this freakin pump out, it's been soaked with WD40 but still no luck.......have called it a day for tonight, will continue tomorrow....:) Any tricks welcome.....I think it's because the car have been sitting still quite much during it's life time.....I see many bolts also got much corrosion etc, but luckily the body itselfe is in great condition, pulling the engine now to fresh it up, change the chain, fresh up the drivetrain ++++++....:)
  6. Anyone know if there is any danger with the 134a gass in the A/C system, reason I wonder is that I was thinking of opening up the system (for all I know it might be empty) cause I want to replace the A/C lines, now that I'm going to pull the engine, and the get i refueled at a shop later on...as many of the pipes seem to be in bad shape....:) Any danger for toxicity or anything else ?
  7. this is a 95 model, but any idea if it's the same bracket on a car with A/C and one without ? (as I have one old bracket on another engine laying around here...:) ) (The bracket on the other engine only seem to have 4 bolts on the power steering pump). What's the "union" ? Been working on this ba** for quite some time, and it won't come out, eventually have to break the bracket I guess......tryed to start working from the top, removing the alternator first, but can't reach the bottom bolt on the A/C compressor...:(
  8. yea, but the other one came out without going thru the hole in the wheel.....they are only 4, but it still sits like he****** Any idea about the cost of that bracket, as I'v already broke a small bit of it.....:) Soon going out again to see if I can get it to move some more....(WD-40 is good to have it seem...lol)
  9. hmm, ok, I have taken one thru the holes but haven't seen more, will have to take a closer look then....:) cheers!
  10. Anyone have any idea if the power steering pump is hold by more then 4 bolts?. On My VR6 it seem to be sitting like he*** in the bracket, starting to bend the bracket itselfe when trying to pry it out of there. Also any tips on what's the best way to loosen the A/C Compressor, and maybe how many screws is on it, I think I see 2 ones holdin it but realy not sure....:( (they are going off due to engine removal)...
  11. ok, thnx, what I thought but they sat so hard that thought I should check first, before wrecking anything...:) After some more persuasivnes they came out....:) Now I see I will not be able to remove all of the front, due to the A/C system, so guess I will have to undo the A/C compressor from the block to get this thing out of there....:)
  12. How would one go about removing the support bends for the radiator (the 2 ones going thru the top of the "front"...), and do one have to undo anything on the radiator before the "top of the front" comes of?.
  13. thnx guys, figured it out, I was 100% sure there was only 2 bolts per side, but there is also a 13mm holding the cross member, I had removed the 13mm and one of the 17" was still in there.........well, it came out...:) cheers!
  14. Just started to pull the Corrado apart, for quite a bit of "overhaul", but having some problems removing the bumper. I'v removed 4x bolts going into the frame (2 on each side). Also removed the bolts holding the lower black lip, and removed the "iron clip list" holding it. What else am I missing, and do I have to remove the headlights? (I'v removed on one side). Any info/pics regarding this would be great, hoping to get the front of this evening....:)
  15. Anyone know where I could get hold of replacement MAF Connectors (VR6). I presume Bosch makes em?. As one of my wires seem to be cut thru the isolation very close to the connector itselfe, so was thinking of cutting the wires and connect them in a new connector if possible?.
  16. Well, that info is AFAIK wrong, as the G60 where for sure made from 88. Just som adds from Germany: 89 G60: http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=lzskaf2dbiid 88 G60: http://www.autoscout24.de/Details.aspx?id=lzqsdd4idghf Cheers!
  17. naa, the G60 where made from 88 to 92, so guess there is quite few of them...:)
  18. You sure they cam with 70A???.. IIRC the one I have in my Passat VR6 is 120Amp, and that doesn't have AC or anything....
  19. 18 seem to be "Load reduction relay" (Think it cuts out power to things you don't need at the time you "start" the car). Relay 100: Secondary Air Pump According to this thread: http://www.vaglinks.com/Docs/VW/MKIII/V ... on_DIY.pdf (if you search for relay 100 you should find it). Not sure about the fuses though...:( EDIT: you sure 18 is for ABS???, doesn't seem to be in bentley???, if I have read correct...;)
  20. This one is apparently taken from a old U.K Brochure: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/MacMan2626/brochure6.jpg This from a German Brochure: http://i59.photobucket.com/albums/g281/MacMan2626/seite05_gr.jpg Atleast for me the U.K one seem to be fitted with a blaupunkt. More in this thread: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?i ... d=51852724 Also found some from the Canadian brochuere, seem to be using the heidelberg there...: http://forums.vwvortex.com/zerothread?id=4113879 Any way to get this forum to accept larger then 800 pixel wide pics (or enable "auto scaling"), nice to have when linking to pics already on the net...;)
  21. How did you treat the subframe?. primer, paint etc?.........gona do pretty much the same with mine soon....:)
  22. Ok, anyway I'm soon going to do a thorough clean of the coolant system, and changing the coolant (doing the chain), so might change the things a bit, not to worried though as they seem to keep it quite steady around 90C's....;)
  23. hmmm, been a while so can't say, I'v never reacted to the temperature, I think it is roughly around 90C......I will have to check it again when I take it out of the garage it's been in over winter......but roughly 90C I'd say...... How often do you recon the fans should run btw?
  24. Ok, so it's quite normal for the Corrado to run it's fans quite often then I guess?
