  1. Chris, not used snow-foam so can't comment... However, bin the A-Glymm shampoo, I too used to use it but now use the Megs Gold Class which gives enough suds and "slides" better over paintwork (again swirl reducing). This next statement will send some people into a fit but I still use a Chamois Leather to dry the car, tried a "Water Magnet" type drying towel and just didn't think it worked as well as the Chamois. It's just a matter of looking after it properly and it's fine! Also to other products I use? Megs Clay kit. Megs Stage 1 paint cleaner Autoglym SRP (best product for hiding any swirls I have found) Autoglym EGP (Extra Gloss Protection - Gold label) an excellent and easy to use sealer, makes the shine last longer. Followed by Colinite 915 wax which is a really good "wet-look" wax and has a long life, brilliant for winter. As most have said it's a case of trial and error, in the valeting bag I also have Megs stage 2 (replaced by SRP) Megs Gold class wax (nice but only last a couple weeks), Zymol cleaner wax (only used to clean mirrors/glass in the house! Rubbish on cars) etc etc.. With all products it's a matter of use the correct applicator (megs foam pads are great, give them a spritz of QD first to stop product sinking in, you use less that way), and use a good Microfibre for removal. Also when applying try to use as little product as possible, and layer them. I generally try to get 2 layers of each down. A good final finish is all down to time and effort I'm afraid, bad prep will show no matter how expensive the wax! I can spend upwards of 5hrs on the car doing a "full detail" but that's only couple times a year. After that is just regular washing and applying wax! For external trim I still find Autoglym Bumper care (or "Snot as it's lovingly known, - green gel) is excellent for the Black plastics. Again thin layers is the key! Saying all that, I'm looking at Poorboys stuff for the summer as apparently they give great results and can be aplied in direct sunlight as well! (If we get any sun this year!). If you need a site to spend too much money, I suggest Elite Car Car, owner Alex is a dubber and always there for good advice! Sorry for the essay but, HTH.
  2. What have you been tiold about accepting free gifts from Junkies? :norty:
  3. No chance you can hardly see the 3rd screw (mine all came out OK and have been out 3-4 times now! Always Cleaned and copperslipped each time though)... You can see both top screws easy (on teh slam panel) the 3rd one os down the round hole between the two upper screws. Have a peer in there (thin torch helps) and you should see it! Bit of trial and error first time! Good luck in getting them out and remember to protect them once they're out!

    Door handle

Wanted ad here? Or if you "Broken it" see dave16v's repair kits!
  5. Bugger sorry to hear that chap... More details/photo of car/location etc will all help though.... Hope you get it back though!
  6. Drew's Ma Heeero! :cowboy: Don't you worry, Jaffa-boy, plans are afoot! :doc:

    tire size?

16v, G60 or VR? I'd go with 195 as a minimum to keep grip levels up! And 15's should have 50 profile tyres so the stretch won't be that great anyway! If you love your wheels then put the correct sized tyres on them, means less damage from debris/kerb-kisses etc. :norty:
  8. I got this too! Watching with interest! Stefan, do both pins have their rubber grommets? and are connected in the A-pillar?
  9. Because I have a life outside the car! How's the R32 coming on?
  10. Love the part about self-levelling and not blinding people.. Someone e-mail that to the X3/5/6 dept of BMW and ask why their self levellers seem to work independantly of each other! The number of badly aligned 4x4 lights is scary... we know our heads are right in their beam patterns!!! Well another nail in the HIDs in non-HID light units coffin then! Only a matter of time before Plod Jump on this too! Added to insurance companies not paying out etc etc etc... Neil, I may have missed something, when did they deem your car "Unlawful"?
  11. Nah if I'd done them you'd be asking why a 3 yr old did it! BJV's handywork! At a very reasonable price too! :norty:
  12. Had one similar from there... Bag o Cr@p... no better then doing it by hand... If you want to geta decent finish go for a Kestral or Megs one... pricier but MUCH better...check out Elite car care's site for starter packages. if you are lookng for polishers though get a random orbital as won't put as much heat into the paint... As to the "worse finish because it's mettallic" Testicles... most of the swirls will be in the top couple microns of the laquer... don't get a bodyshop to do it as they allmost all leave "buffer trails"... have a look on ED or Detailing world for a local valeter to do it properly. Once done with the right washing techniques you can minimise swirling coming back... HTH...
  13. Hmm the 28,000 miles Storm that's been sold for "£8775" also has 15 stamps in the service book... that a service every 1800 miles?? Pinch of salt taken with ALL car ads I'm afraid... Oh and the Lotus Carlton pic used on his banner looks suspiciously like a screen shot from Forza2/GT5??
  14. Give it a go Stuey-B Give it a go... Oh and report back too! :D
  15. Good shout Chris, let us know what the damage is too! Slightly sorter strap would be good as I tend to only open the boot 1/2 way in wet weather to stop dripping from rear lights/plate surround into the boot anyway. So a shelf that rises a bit more than it does currently would be good!
  16. Yeah well a dirge of "non-corrado-life" stuff's halted that for the moment... the Winter's will now become my Summer wheels and a couple more things in the pipeline!
  17. Found using a bit of cotton helps lining up the rod in it's hole... Good luck though, pretty straight forward to do...
  18. Sounds like your trunking has been dislodged... Case of removing as much dash as you're brave enough to do and putting it back!
  19. New GHD product to go with the new Haircut? Or taken some styling advice from James' Ibiza wheels?
  20. As most have said there's an undefinable "something" that keeps you locked in.... one of the few cars with a "Soul", unfortunatley all Soul-cars also seem to come with a tube attached to the Wallet! Best comment I had so far is a "geezer" came up to me when I was filling up in London and asked: "Nice car what is it?" "A Corrado" "Wikked! I'd love one when do they release that then? " I actually coughed so hard I almost poured super unleaded on his feet! But yeah I'm stuck with this bug too... still find myself glancing in shop-windows when I drive past, and at the mirror at about 40mph.. Just to make sure "it" is still working... :norty:
  21. Stop slagging my for sale off :censored: ... I spent many minutes thinking about these mods....
  22. See now that was the sort of thing I was thinking about! My un-cut shelf's got 2 good straps, just the one in the car with the 6x9's has broken one and the other's starting to go under the weight of holding the shelf on its own! :(
  23. Ok Guy as the rubber straps are obsolete, what alternatives are there out there that work with a Rado parcel shelf? Apart from old Boot-laces!
  24. so what would work on Spoiler allen bolts? As they're recessed...
  25. Chris, what's the cost for a set of Amber VR ones?
