  1. Get a manky chromed one and spray yourself... uber cheap! The more manky and not chromed anymore the better! Use Plastikote satin black as it's hard as nails!
  2. Ah this old chestnut... Have spent upwards of £500+ on MOT welding in the past (Not on my rado I hasten to add!)... Well if you wanted rid as is it'd be about £300 on the open market, or about £1500 if you break (assuming you can flog almost all of it, but this takes a long time to achieve). As to the cars listed, would any of them make you smile when you look out the house in the morning and think "Yeah that's my car" as I'm sure the Rado has done till now... If it's still with the garage, I'd ask them to give it a really good going over, see what's just passable this year and likely to cost next... then decide, you may sort this and then be all good for a couple years!
  3. With US Spec Bumpers and healights can understand the Civilian's mistaking there for DeLoreans! So what' the spec on the Schricks?
  4. Junkie, massive difference eh? Do you notice a slight dip in dash illumination when going to high beam? Am going to bang a set of Osram Night Breakers (a claimed +90% output, same voltage) in mine, and put in the better reflectors.. should be able to blind the fekkers in BMW-X5's that seem to always have at least one headlight set to "Rado mirror" height... It also upgrades the side lights too which is nice! If anyone is thinking that their lights are a bit "Lacking" this really is the BEST mod for your car! Just don't leave the lights on overnight!
  5. Sonic... Try getting the bonnet macine polished, that will remove all the oxidisation of the paint, should help. Then just a matter of keeping on top of it using a good polish/sealer/wax combo... As to the Steelies, I like tham TBH... maybe a different colour would help you love them again! BJV do a Black Chrome or a high Sparkle silver, either would look good!
  6. And that explains the low rpm as it's looking for 6 impulses rather than 4.... so will be 2/3's of actual revs...
  7. There's nowt on the website for our local store which is strange... they may be on there with your store though... Maybe they were last wek's "Special" As they only seem to have them there for a week at a time! Stanley stuff's there though.
  8. For all the Wheel Whores out there... Lidl are doing a 4-wheel stand (to keep the wheels stacked up) for just £8 and this includes, tyre seperators, a pressure guage, tred depth guage and a cover as well... And for transporting your precious wheels about, they are also doing "Tyre" covers (from Germany) whic will cover wheel/tyre combos up to 18" for about £6 Also doing cheap Stanley Screwdriver and 1/4" Socket sets...
  9. Zak, will swap that "nasty" 3 poke for a more OEM 4 spoke BBS wheel! ;) Love your car, ideal colour and interior!
  10. PM "ICY" on E-38 he's the guy who replaced his bolts with BBS ones after getting his LM Reps Ball-burnished... Or speak to Paul at R-Tec in St Albans about the replacements...
  11. Yeah Baby! I Love Goooolllllddddd... Schmoke and a Pancake anyone?
  12. Strange as mine have been on since early March so have almost done a complete "winter" if you like... and are fine...even taken a couple hits to the polished surface and that's all good too! Call R-Tec in St-Albans they can supply you with new studs for these, and have gold versions too if that floats your boat! All I've done is made sure they had a good couple layers of wax on them before using, and have slung a couple light coats on since.... as you would with more expensive alloys... I started off with Aglym EGP and Megs Gold class as that's all I had... Use something like Rim-Wax, Jestseal109, Poorboys, or as I'm doing Colinite 915 and they'll be fine! Are you using any form of acid wheel cleaner/stiff brush? These will affect the finish too! If you protect them as above all you need to use is regular Car shampoo...
  13. Yup BJV all the way mine were custom paint over powder coat and only £150! They're nr Hemel though... Or Dav @ Pureklas and he has couriers to pick up/drop off...
  14. Phile what were the specs on yours Size/et/adaptor sizes?
  15. Need some ideas about what porker rims to go with... Have a couple of ideas in my head... and not D90's or 928's please! So lets see what you have on/stored in your hard drive....

    Crap Blowers?

Tis a fun job, had the dash undertrays ect to bits recently to remove the "Professionally" installed Stereo (Yes I seemed to have paid some bandit to cable tie stuff to my fuse box! ) Best advice, get a kneeling pad and a mate, removing front seats will make life a tad easier too!
  17. All I'll say id you get what you pay for... Think the one's you'll get are mk2 ones and their spring rates just won't be man enough... Save up or pay to have the Koni's re-sprung...
  18. Andy, like the Homage... subtle... Would have gone "Piano black" on the walnut, or tried a swish of dark laquer over it first? Wheels are a bit Marmite... but look good...
  19. HAHA you don't have alignment stuff though Josh! Cheers Jim, was that front and back?
  20. BACK ON TOPIC... Do I go buy VAG VR Topmounts? Or stay with 16v ones??? Help! Want to get the car booked in to have the KW's done soon as wheels etc rides on getting this done...
