  1. Try giving the foam pads a quick spritz with the QD too, helps stop the product sinking, means less used again! Persoanlly SRP's better than stage2 I find, but depends if on the Valver (dark) or the VR (light). If teh valver you may want to try A/glymm UDP bettr for dark cars. Gave mine to mate with a black Ibiza and worked a real treat! What you finishing with? Stage 3 or something else?
  2. IIRC the physical size of the plate's not a legal but the lettering/spacing is. so if you have a 3-digit reg (eg JMC) then you can run a tiny but legally sized letter plate... Guy who had mine before me ran a US spec raer holder as he had silly 4-digit/letter private plate
  3. Yeah exactly the same and he's confirmed I'll lose rear tyres in 3 miles without arch work! :mad2:
  4. Will there be any issues with scrubbing? :help: Any-one else running this combo? Late 16v so a wider front end... Quick answer would be good as have a deal hanging.. :ignore:
  5. It's either the end if the world or the 0X have been visit Kev! Looks good though Kev, get Roberto round to "do" the Big Turbo and you may even feel happy washing and polishing that too! Not even washed mine for over a week now even with all this good weather, havd a choice of off to Helfrauds to get more kit or a 150miles drive to pick all my stuff up as I left it in the parents garage :brickwall:
  6. I think he did...moved now though :) Jon, no I lived near Aylesbury! Just moved down to Beckton, near Docklands now though, closer to work!
  7. Mate Compered to the roads here in Esat London, Oxford's pretty smooth!
  8. Cheers am really impressed with the Magnex good quality and fitted almost straight on. See my For sale thread dude!
  9. Few little updates: First off at 7am my "Walker quality" back-box lived up to it's name and walked clean off the car with no warning, just rusted so thin on the pipe/box join it must have clean fractured, no warning blowing sound, just BAAAAAARRRR.... scrraaappe.. So quick call to Magnex and then a company called Roadrunner and the next day: One Magnex Cat-bacl s/steel system... Fitted next night at mates workshop, only took about 40 mins end to end (including putting the "famous" rear braket on upside down!), aided by the fact where the old system went into the Cat the "grease" the factory used still worked! So some rather dark shots (taken at 2am that night when I finally got in, ahd a Caddy to lower that night too!) All beded in and great and "grown up" sound, only slightly louder than factory, and a good "bark" when it's opened up! Also had a quick play with some clay new polish on the bonnet: Can't really pick it out on that, but it's sharpened up the edges of the reflections. More recently have picked up a Good Late Black interior which will go in as soon as I can get a Late mirror switch and some late mirror/window harnesses. Just need to add a black carpet as well I guess. Will see when it's in. Also bought some KR cams to go into the engine to free up a few more ponies now I have a decent flowing filter/exhaust system. And BIG thanks to Billcor for selling me this: will also come with a carbon cover too so can chose the look as I feel. Will get more photos done as the work progesses. But things on hold as I've just moved down to East London, and need to get my stuff down here with me (and a shed to put them all in!) Unfortunately the move here means I need to sell the 17's as the roads here are really really rubbish and if i don't get more sidewall I'll start losing my teeth to the potholes!
  10. Any-one recommend a E-London Specialist? Just moved down here and my old mechanic's a good 2hr drive away now :(
  11. Rofl @ Bill Cause I do and so loking forward to getting some quality "Rimmage" in my hands! So far its either 22/23/24mm anyone got a 92 (crossover, late shell early interior) that they can check on for me before I go to Helfrauds and buy the wrong socket? Cheers!
  12. Hi Guys, search came back a bit ambigous... What size nut and splines am I likely to have on a 92 9a16v? Early interior but a 3-spoke wheel? Wondering ahead of a wheel change..
  13. To go to 1900 don't they have to open the bores out? Hence less metal between the combustion and oil/waterways so more heat? Try a fan on the Mocal if you are worried. Wouldn't be too paranoid about oil temp through the MFA as sender's probably a bit inaccurate too! My Valver sits at 108 motorway and 112/4 traffic, but a mate's "dip sender" down the dipstick tune said 102.
  14. Yeah just don't want to be the Crash-test-monkey on this one! Esp as I just moved and have no idea where my local VAG is now!
  15. So has any-one actually fitted the KR Samco kit to the 9a in a Rado? My top hose is showing signs of age and becomming a little incontinant! (decided to leak enough to flash my coolant light in the Lion enclosure at Longleat! ) So would like to do the old Three birds one stone, as want to pop a new Rad and front mount in for Piece Of Mind at the same time... Just need confirmation that all bar the two small bore (heater?) pipes fit the 9a engine. Cheers!
  16. Just bought a pair of KR cams but how do I tell which is which? Part numbers or a physical difference? Sorry for a stupid question but after a quick once over to make sure they were ok they got shoved away "somewhere safe" till I have time to fit them. Didn't note differences or numbers
  17. Front end shot looks wierdly like a pikes Peak UR-Quattro... but side shows front end really needs the Rado "Chin"... I can see why the side windows if you had to fit a proper MSA spec firewall in there behind the driver compartment... Purely Function over form, and I've seen a lot worse on tracks and hill out there... Not sure many here will like this I'm afraid...
  18. You mean me... Who text you to tell you about this???? Nah mate, cheers for the text though.. Glad this all sorted now. Stu, still have that bottle of You know what hanging about courtesy of Mic's niece arriving... If Mic's not at Big Bang I may have to replace it! :drinking: :drinking:
  19. S'ok as long as they are 16v items... So could be Neuspeed discs then? Done a search and think the possibly could be Pagid like the pads?
  20. Right Now I've managed to get on here for a while.... Been blocked through the work server and don't have i/net at home at the moment. I'm amazed that so many people NOT involved managed to get onto this thred (Mods included). I've explained to Stu the whys and wherefores of payment (which I'm not going into on a public forum) and I hope he's happy as to why it's taken a lot longer than I would have liked to get money to him. Stu as an aside Mic didn't make the 'Pod so I still have that Little something waiting for you. 8) As to Dan (Stony) comments, I picked up the breaks from Mark at the weekend as I didn't want to be accused of using stuff I haven't paid for... But to my surprise the "Black Diamond" discs aren't.... they appear to be some sort of groved disc... so not really happy at buying one thing and recieving another... but I accept mistakes happen and I hope they are the 16v items and you've not got confused with some other discs lying about?
  21. Mate, Wheatley services (Oxford) is one of the most expensive in the country! Ironically there's and Asda about 1/2 mile on where it's dirt cheap compered! Mind you Asda in Beckton (E6) had been doing U/L for 100.9 till last week, now it's 102! so only £50/tank Whoohoo!

thanks walsey. i agree with you on the colour, as this is the second one ive had in "pearl grey". the rado never turned out to be as good as i thought as the previous owner lied to me about its condition, and that it had been written off- in a very deceiving manner! i have already decided it will be resprayed and have almost collected all the parts needed. my first grey rado: It was me actually but I'll let you off as I'm far better looking than Walsey! Pearl Ghay is probably the most understated colour the Rados came in, and personally I think It suits the car to a T... (Esp with my LM'S ;) )
  23. As much as I'm shooting myself in the foot by not considering one, I just don't think I can bring myself to. Stupid I know, as it's only a badge. De-Badge it? :norty: I sling at least £50 a week in my Valver!! :help:
