  1. Yup my 9a has those relays there too! Jim, in the (coming up) 3 years that I've had mine my oils always sat slightly on the high side (110-114) on the move, but apparently (according to my mechanic) that's more than likely down to an old sender, oil's changed and comes out looking fine not old and thin. The Rad fan kicks in at 110 too so think this is right as well, strange thing is mine normally sits with W/temp at mid-gauge (90?) but last Saturday, on a beating up the A12 following an SLK in the heat, it was constantly showing slightly lower (about 5-7 deg) wehther moving or in 40 mph traffic, which was wierd... :confused4: I wouldn't stress too much about it.
  2. Foxster, have a look a suspension kits before going the front strut route, you may find there's not much difference! Nice tidy Strom in one of my two favorite Storm colours! And good price too! Enjoy!
  3. And can be made to look soo good! Seriously need a good slapping to the ground though, just how Ford sell a car whose tyre/arch clearance is twice the sidewall profile defies me! Makes a late VR look like a mexican low-rider! TBH the stilts and the "uber-hair-dresser" image kept me from looking too hard at them. The 1.7 isn't that quick either, my 16v beats all bar the FRP every time, think I'd be quite dissapointed. If image isn't your concern I'm sure there are cars that are as capable and quicker for the money. Standard Focii are shocking good handling cars, and cheap, and generally not owned by Charvers if you pick the right model! (Can't believe I praised a F**D!!!! I'm off to find some Carbollic soap to wash out my mouth!)
  4. Lisa, Gutted for you! Did it go to some-one local? Didn't know you were near Wendover? Come over to the next Nomads meet in Hemel next week (5th June) there's generally 3-4 of us Rado heads there and I'm sure if you ask us nicely we'll take you out for a blast too! (try a 16v 9a/G60 and VR all in the same night)
  5. Cripes! Lee, Do you have a set of white kidd gloves and a clean-room suit to drive that! :norty: Brave interior choice, no fixing the car and jumping in to check it then! :notworthy:
  6. Decisions decisions.. :confused4: Your thoughts... Will be for my Estos for the winter..
  7. on my "late/early" 92 9a valver too...
  8. G/Luck with the repairs... nice to see some-one go out on a limb, world would be a duller place otherwise! :norty:
  9. Not a coupe Not a Giugiaro penned design Not built by hand by Karmann at Onnasbruk So why call it a Scirocco? IROC would have been more suitable? Still nice to see the are keeping the our Sport-coupe is a parts-bin Mongrel theme going, suspension by Passat CC, dash by Eos, Engine by who knows what (like the 9a).... So will be dead easy to get bits for further down the line... NOT! And an affordable Sports Coupe at £20K+ Who are they kidding? I hate to sound cynical but I give it a 5 year life-span... max. We'll see so many outside branches of Tony and Guy too! :camp: :fondle: Unless they go the BMW route and turn it into a "wacky 4x4 cross coupe"! :gag: :pukeright:
  10. Yup somewhere in Downtown Atlanta, near the University I think... one of 3 roundabout I came across in Georgia (One was in the entrance to my apartment block). These confuse the living bejesus out of non-locals, seen a couple from Florida just sit at one for 2-3 minutes trying to figure it, then turn round!
  11. Rubbish there's the N/S Circular, great road to sit in a traffic jam! The A1020 opposite City Airport is not bad, bit "Milton Keynes" in that it's about 3/4 mile of dual cariidgeway linked with big roundabouts, but nice flat surface. Good little Test track in the evenings. Also the B4011 between Thame and Bicester used to be pretty good, but the surface has been chewed up by trucks using it as a rat-run from the M40. :( Also not recommended to blast down there when it's cold as gets very icy in places (shown by holes in the hedges!)
  12. I always find this a soothing thing to think about when anything squeeks in the car..
  13. Time for some-one to do a you-tube instructional video then!
  14. And for any-one over 5'8? I have the wheel at it's higest setting and the seat a long way back still a PITA getting in/out esp when some dick-wad parks aganst you in the tiny supermarket spaces. Tend to end up using the wheel to balance myself, been thinking a Drivers Grab-handle (from a left hooker) would help? But yeah I have yet to see a passenger (including a couple Corrado owners) get in without slamming the bolster. Some just sling themsevles in Arse first! :gag:
  15. Probably been done before but here's an insight into my twisted mind! Or Porsche 914 Limiteds Also did an Ivory/Green (above is Ivory/Red) of which no pics exit! :( And: 72 swb 3.0 Carrera RS, the MOST lethal porsche ever! In Signal Green though! And A Veyron Pur Sang just to be more Scene than the rest of you! And just for nipping up the hills: An S1 Pikes Peaks... For Sunny Clasic days: or Still can't believe Puppy at T3D bought this! And for daily duties a Corrado Campaign (can't find any pics) So lets see your dream garage!
  16. Wheel Whore! :notworthy:
  17. yup which is what Mine's doing think it's NS.. one of them needed a new boot last MOT... Easy to do? Specialist tools?
  18. How do I tell if its the inner our outer CV clicking? Silly question but I've not had to replace a CV joint on any of my old cars! In fact all my Aircooled's didn't have CV joints! :norty:
  19. Any-one? Are there no vw specialist Garages in East London?
  20. Thanks Bill, had a few confusing moments fitting it, seems I had an extra "Bezel" left over, was easy once I had figured out the way it all went together, the keystone of that was accidently finding the BBS horn-push plate unscrews!
  21. Oooh A nice "to have" for the air-cooled boys. Have a quick search round Volkzone to see what they fetch... Personally unless you have everything restored to Concourse condition you'd be better of selling with the "patina" of age on it. In the air-cooled scene it's all about originallity and patina! Rat-look* still rocks big-time! * Rat-look as in proper Rat-look using OG paint but as solid as you can get vehicles, slammed to the floor on good rims and nice period accessories as opposed to Watercooled Shat-look which just involves jumping on the bonnet and throwing primer about!
  22. BILL sent an Involante (sp?) mk2 boss which fitted nicely, and the socket was a 24mm (double checeked first with a 23mm wheel-brace socket though!). May go and sling the wood one on when it stops raining (only 6 nuts to swop all accessable in situ) just to see...
  23. BBS Steering wheel all fitted now... again many thanks to BILLCOR Top guy to deal with! Leather just needs a good feeding but couldn't wait to get it into the car (yeah like a big kid!) Still have to make my mind up between Carbon... And the Wood-effect (which looks a bit too orange in my eyes)
  24. BILLCOR A star! Quick mailing of my BBS wheel (even with a liquid weekend between). Included eveything, well wrapped, so absolutely no issues, and even a set of instructions ! All fitted and looking spiffy now... Slight struggle with the meaning of the instructions, and the fact I had what appered to be an extra part! :confused4: Cheers Bill... Great service! Smiling everytime I get into the car now, be it Wooden or Carbon view! 8)
