  1. Not sure if I've posted this in the right place, so my apologies to the mods if it isn't. I've got a 52 plate TDi Sport Estate and you may recall recently that it left me stranded at work one day. I've noticed a bit of a pattern and was wondering if it was normal behaviour for a diesel or indeed the Passat. If I park my car facing down an incline and leave it overnight, it'll start no problem the next day or when I need it next. However if I park facing up the same slope, it won't start and I have to get it to face down the slope and wait of 5 mins then keep trying it till it starts!!!! Could it be something to do with either the fuel pump in the tank or the oil pump or something? Just a bit annoying because I forgot last night and put my car in the drive nose first (facing up the slope) and spent 15 mins trying to get it started and was late for work. Any ideas? Cheers, Grim
  2. I'd be taking up 2 spaces as well matey. Those panels are not cheap to repair or replace as they have to be shipped from the states IIRC. Also, probably parked like that because of the gullwing doors.
  3. I've got one of the "ugly" wheels in my attic doing nowt if you're interested.
  4. what a pipe and some sucking action costly    Sucky sucky, five dollar!
  5. On the face of it, the new Scirocco is a nice car IMHO. What it isn't, is a coupe! Far from it. It is most certainly not worthy of wearing the Scoricco badge and reviving a model cherished by a large number of enthusiasts. They (VW) could have come up with some other abysmal name for it (I mean, Tiguan ffs) and I think the enthusiasts would have been more happy because as a car it is quite nice IMHO. I personally don't like the badge on the bonnet but it at least gives you, the enthusiast (if anyone buys one) something to remove and smooth. Alot of the negativity towards the Scirocco I think is because 1 - It's called the Scirocco and 2 - It looks as much a coupe as a very un-coupe like car taking 'how not to look like a coupe lessons'! All IMHO 2p
  6. A bit like the A-Team van then Kev? 8)

My mother in law got me a driving day in a R8 for a xmas prezzie!! Soooo looking forward to going for that in the summer!!!!!
  10. I'm just glad I don't have my G60 anymore. Using it for work everyday now would completely empty my wallet! Just don't get me started on the price of diesel!!!
  11. Nobody else put off by the fact that it has possibly the biggest wing mirrors of all time on it? Looks like the stuck ones from the Q7 on it and thought, "you know what? That doesn't look too bad".
  12. Not really that much different to un-married life to be honest. Just a little wierd saying my wife as opposed to fiancee or girlfriend. Good luck with the swap over, it's worth the effort in the end. 8)
  13. Couple of hours mate. Unless you're also doing the headlining in which case I've no Idea. I've heard that the headlining is a 2 man job thougth to stop the shape getting fcuked. Good luck and get some pics up asap. Might be worth shampooing the carpets before you fit them. I did that with my black ones and it's so much easier.
  14. That was a quick pearoast of an already gash joke lol Glad you got it sorted in the end matey.
  15. A B5.5 Passat Estate TDI Sport. Oh wait, I've already done that!!!
  16. Found the pic I took 8) IMAGE_00170.jpg[/attachment:f2b40]
  17. I once managed to get 44mpg out of my G60 before I sold it. Was slow but constant m/way traffic
  18. It's an offence to not display a valid tax disc on your vehicle. I asked the DVLA when I ordered mine online if I could drive it on the road as technically the car is legally taxed and was told no. You could try to fight it, but I doubt you'd get anywhere unfortunately.
  19. I didn't think G60's supported VAG COM??? It's the earlier type blink diagnostics is it not? I could never get it work on mine.
  20. Good to hear matey. I've got some ramdom bits of trim, a pretty much complete early dash all in grey and some other odds and sods kicking around. Did you VR?
  21. If it breaks or has a hole in the glass, I've got a complete Ice Grey Violet Tailgate you can have. If you can collect that is. Get some pis up chief, or am I going to have to pop in to see you?
  22. When I bought my G60 in 2003 I vowed never to sell it because I totally loved it. Now, 4 and a half years on, she's gone and to be honest I really don't miss it at all. No more "if I pull the door handle will it break this time" and such worries and far better fuel consumption and comfort not to mention space. Ok, the Passat won't exactly set the world on fire in terms of performance, styling and handling but 170 ish bhp and a load of torque make is nice and lazy to drive. I can sit up straight in it and fit people in the back and also for the first time, I can fit my bass guitar in the boot out of sight. I'm already visiting the petrol station half as much as I used to so I'm happy. Maybe one day the novelty will wear off as it's still a relatively new car to me, maybe one day I'll want a Corrado again. If I do, I'll need to have deep pockets to keep the bugger in tip top condition. Sorry, rant over. At the end of the day you have a Storm, not an older G60, but remember the storm is only a storm because of the badges (effectively, don't want to start a flame war) and you could get better specced non storm VR's at the time. It comes down to personal circumstance and for me, selling the rado was the right thing to at the time. Good luck in making a decision as it's not easy.
  23. Deffo sounds like the maf matey. IIRC only about £45 from the stealer.
