  1. Design wise I went for the easy option :), edges are sealed using a high temp seal, figured this would help with any vibration as well. Fams are also mounted on rubber washers. left some gaps at the bottom of the fans though for drainage and debris etc.
  2. Appears to have stopped leaking, rechecked the sump bolts corener ones were not torqed 100% not optmoisitc...time will tell
  3. Some small progress...oil cooler fitted, engine has oil in it for the first time - already has a slight weap from the sump 😞, disappointed as all the gasket/seal changes were farmed out. Try some quick fixes first as I dont fancy draining brand new oil. Hoping to turn the eningne over for the first time as well. Coolant sysytem to take care of next, new rad, shroud and fans built up ready to go in after wiring sorted.
  4. get the car scanned first, if you cant wait check wiring, my idle control valve wiring was shot so casued me similar issues
  5. Cheers, traced the wire back goes to the multiplug, the old loom did have a few cracks and the wire was corroded, so assume there was a bad earth at some point which led to this fix.
  6. Green/White - Throttle Position Sensor Signal? Black/Gray - Throttle Position Sensor Power? Brown/Green - earth Plan to trace the Brown/Green wire to see where it goes to originally as well - can only assume root cause was bad earth but id like to be sure. Dont plan to emulate on my newer loom
  7. Hello all, Whilst sorting my replacement engine harness (95 VR6) i noticed on my old loom that the wiring for my Throttle position Sensor had been altered, in particular the brown/green wire had been earthed....just wondered why this would need to be done? as the wiring looked OK, assume the the other end is earthed somewhere
  8. Quality work mate! hats off to you
  9. Wow that is rusty, not seen that before, you may have picked up a bad batch of contaminated fuel (containing water) remember reading up on a few incidents
  10. Power delivery was very linear with this car with this setup on the old engine, prob is with the charger and the Schrick on its hard to tell what makes the diff. I had a stock vr6 at the same time and the difference between the two cars was night and day, stock vr as was a very refined cruiser with power at the top of the rev range. With the charger and the schrick the VR is quick right from the start, with very linear power delivery and continues to pull hard well over 100mph
  11. Supercharger came with Bosch red injectprs just had them cleaned and rebuilt by http://www.injectortune.co.uk/ came back like new with flow report, very reasonable price as well.
  12. Been off the road for so long I have almost forgotten what it used to sound like lol
  13. Cheers, rpm controller located in the scuttle area, near the ecu, will all be covered with swg panel. for the box I used 2 x RED LINE Synthetic Manual Transmission 90 MT90 75W-90 GL4 - 1 US Quart (0.946 litre)
  14. looking good 8)...though those were the stock rims for a late valver?
  15. Also got hold of some panels (scuttle ar ea and bottom of A posts) courtesy of Corrado Graveyard (James Darby)..if you need some bits he is the guy 😎
  16. No major updates...just fitted some new tower linkage arms, and trail fitted a few bits.....any tips on adjusting appreciated as I have now lost 2nd gear 😞
  17. MIne just has one of those white clips over it
  18. Cheers guys, helps massively....sounds about right looking at the bolts and how they are secured
  19. Cheers all, I have seen some threads saying 60Nm, but tbh the yellow one is holding up the rad support, and the blue is tiny and just appears to bolt into a captive not onthe rad support, again not doing much
  20. OK welding will have to wait, to cheer mself up and after much messing arround engine finally in, happy as I have space in my garage and can chuck in loads more bits as well. Also started wrapping the loom and swapping out bolts and clips for stainless items.
  21. Cant find torque settings in Bentley, I know I had it written somewhere just can find where....seem to find conflicting settings when I search, does anyone know what the correct torque settings is for bolts pictured in yellow and blue? 25Nm?
  22. πŸ™‚ Coming along nicely
  23. Once sorted just going to paint, there is already sound deadening inside, so might just add another layer internally
  24. Yep the bitumen looked slightly different. the rest peeled off easily enough as well, guess after 25 years its given a good service
  25. ** Rust Warning ** Was on the verge of putting the engine back in, thought I would clean the scuttle area.... gutted to find rust lurking in the scuttle area under the bitumen sound deadening.... looks like it’s a dash out repair 😞. Was very P'd off yesterday, however new day and all that...will give me a chance to tidy wiring and replace the heater matrix I would recommend all owners check the condition of their cars scuttle area, or check fro under the dash area. The damage appears to be localised to low points/contours where water appears to have collected/become trapped and reacted over time.
