  6. Pete, thank you for the detailed explanation can anyone come out with the part numbers for the Passat Pedal as well as the master pump. Thanks in adavance. I am sure some of you have encountered the issue of getting replacement for this.

  8. Hi guys, help needed as VW has discontinue production of the clutch master pump for the early 93 clutch master pump, and I live in malaysia where there are only 2 manual VR6 Corrado in the country! Where can i buy them in the UK any help would be great. Thanks a bundle!
  9. Guys I hope its ok to run my car eventhough its rattly, will put in headlight etc aand give it a run... I am just worried that I might ruin the engine...
  10. I really hope so, as I have been running a AAA engine ever since I got my corrado and only late last year I manage to find this ABV engine! Decided to renew all gasket,Port head etc. But why its quiet on start up  then becomes rattly when the oil warm up!!! Will put back my bumper lights etc and take it for a drive I guess...
  11. Just Rebuilt my VR with new chain guides and tensoners, cam followers, ported the head and oil pump, it starts up fine but when the oil temp hits 74+ C degrees the engine becomes rattly, if I rev it to about 3000RPM or so the rattly sound disappears! When i drops to idle the rattly noise appears again! Sound like the cam followers but they are new! Any help on this appreciated as i am really sad after spending all the dosh and time on it!
  12. I have stripped down my VR6 2.9 engine and cant get the piston rings for it? Can you guys point me to the right company in the UK that could help me. Thanks in advance,
  13. I live in a Hot and Humid country and afternoons will get upto 34-36deg. and my Rado use to read 100 before the fans kick in and oil temps read 112-116 constantly in mix and city driving and I run a mocal oil cooler sanvich plate with a 5 row 6inch long oil cooler!! I have checked the the temps on the hoses using a laser temp gauge and the fans does kic in at 93deg and shuts at 88deg. I conclude that the gauge is out or the yellow temp is out....so do not really now... I have gotten fed up of this and got my garage to remove the thermostat for both the Rad and oil cooler and replaced the fan switch with a transporter TDi one that kick on at 83 or 84 deg. result---oil temp will be at 80+deg within 10mins from start up in the morning and water temps will reach 80+deg within 12-15min. I still see 91-92 deg on the gauge but suspect this is closer to 85deg! I ahd a spare yellow swith in my parts bin which I replace with.Oil temps are still pretty high at 104-110deg depending on outside temps and 112-116deg if I give it the welly!!I am not sure on the oil temps which sender is this? Any help on this will be appreciated. I could feel that the entire engine bay is now a lot cooler, in past it would be burning hot even to touch the bonnet stay rod! In my the climate I lived in I had no choice but to take the above drastic action before i blow either the rad or engine at some point. I felt the engine warm has not change much with and without the thermostats owing to the hot climate that I live in.
  14. yep the blower part could fit a Corrado, thats what I have in mine (VR6)from a Passat but the compressor mountings etc is different on the engine side from 16V to 8V, so ideally you will need the MKII(KR) or passat (9A)16V engine compressor mounting, alternator mounting etc.. As tone def says your glove box will be smaller but the plus point is in the AC itself. so its doable with the right combination of parts.
  15. Since C&R service is crap where can I buy the Goodrich hoses for this and MKV ally caliper conversion from? Vince of Stealth racing? any help appreciated.
  16. Hi guys have another question can we use mk2/mk3 corrado pads for this conversion, can remeber from where but some thread were saying that we need mk4 pads for this conversion.
  17. Can we use the gearbox from the ABF 2.0 16V engine by just transferring the Corrado VR6 gearbox bellhousing into the ABF gbox? I understand that it has lower final drive. I do some track days and autocross and just find that the standard ratios too high for track/autocross work. Or is it easier to just transfer the final drive over? Your help on this will be appreciated.
  18. Hi Just wanted to know if the VR manual and auto starter is the same and interchangeble? Any help appreciated.
  19. Man the C is like a micro car besides the new Rocco!! I have not seen the new rocco in the flesh will do so in a few weeks time when I get to the uK. Will leave my comments till then!
  20. Guys its easier to fit a Passat sytem in the VR, my VR came with a Diavia sytem as well I basically junk out the entire wiring and cooling coil, a Passat blower/heater unit will fit under the Corrado dash properly and its original, the only downside is that you will need to shorten the glove box to clear the larger cooling coil/Box. This unit is made by Valeo and the fan unit is the same with MK3 Golfs and also Audi A4(B5). So parts are available. The air from this system is far more efficient than the Davia crap, I know as I leave in the tropics. My suggestion go an look for a Passat of MK3 golf VR6, the system will go in fine except the condenser unit might be needed as I am not sure the passat of the MK3 Golf will fit? Ask if you need further help...
  21. Most of the temp sender( the yellow one! in the thermo housing) is not accurate after all the years sitting in there they getting tired! My mechanic has a very hight tech laser temp. reader gun and the fan kicks in at 92-94degrees when I point the gun on the rad hose! The temp in the car shows 98-100!! and I thought the fan only kicks in at 100 when I know the thermo swith in the rad should kick in at 92 and shut at 88. Another mates VR6 always shows a low reading of only 85 when the fan kicks in and he also discovered it was 92 when change to new Yellow sender!!I have not got around to change the sender so I bet its the yellow sender that is giving us all false readings... BTW my oil temp is about 105-116 on the move on idle in traffic its below a hundred as I have an oil cooler fitted as well, b4 the Oil cooler days it was between 8-10degrees higher. Also our ambient temp during the days are 33-36 degrees and night 25-30!
  22. Its a black round box below the shift lingakge with two wires sticking to it!
  23. Have anyone transfered the internals of MK3 Recaro's into the the Rado's seat base? If its possible how difficult it is? I have a MK3 set which i planning to transfer. Your help appreciated.
