True going by what he is listing it is consistent with that type of repair. Chains tensioners waterpump are all done more or less at the same time-----probably clutch too :) What you really need is proof that it all has been done------not just needing done :( Big bills if you end needing to do it yourself

Looking good a bit dark and the murdered engine is a nice change!!!! Are they leccy Recaros tucked inside ?
-
Good news mate and a cheap fix :)
-
Depends if you`re buying or selling
-
Yeah hurry up --------  Get on with it---------
-
I phone about this one and spoke to tha lady selling it. They have owned it from more or less new. It sounds as if it has been repaired as and when required rather than properly maintained. It has as you say done 155K but its cheap. :)

If you happen to be talking about the Storm on Ebay being sold by ----"Corrado specialists". You must ask yourself if they are "Corrado Specialists" why cant they fix it????? A £3000 Storm from a " Specialist Corrado" dealer seems to good to be true--------------- So it probably is

At least you know what needs doing, seems a bit much to me Whats the rest of it like interior and bodywork?
-
what is a reasonable price to advertise my corrado for?
too hot replied to okjc250's topic in General Car Chat
Not a lot nowadays :( £1000 - £1500 on a good day? :( Not a sellers market at the moment :( -
Difficult to say really depends on how bad the bodywork is. There have been a few really tidy looking VR`s turning up from £1000 upwards to £2000 Only thing with the scrappage scheme is I think you have to have owned the car for at leats 12 months(correct me if I`m wrong) The vehicle has to have MOT three months I think(might be wrong!!!) Worth considering if you can afford a new car. Might be cheaper to sell the Corrado and do a cash deal on something new :)

Yeah my mate has one with DSG gearbox great till you boot it or use launch control ----8mpg

1. the temp light was flashing - i believe this can be cured from topping up the resevoir as it was almost empty. It can be cured by topping up,but why is it nearly empty? it will be a good idea to have a good look round to see if there are any leaks. Check it before you take it out for a test drive and again when you come back :)

The early VR`s were K plates ,so really later ones are from late K onwards. However there are cars caught in the crossover period. Late K plates can be late specs. Likewise early L plates can be early specs. Confused you will be :) The easiest way to confirm is the later engines have coilpacks, later interiors have round heater controls-----easy!!!

This came up not too long ago I asked much the same. Here is a link I hope it answers some of your questions :) viewtopic.php?f=17&t=83789

  I was only being sarcastic with the "buy a TT comment"  That just isn`t going to happen. I`ve got a MKV GTI that does all the easy stuff that a TT can do :) I apprecate that the VR6 is a fairly complex and expensive piece of kit especially when it comes to replacing chains and tensioners etc. My point was there are very cheap VR`s out there its just a matter of getting a good cheap one. :)

Doesn`t sound the worst most of it is as you say is cosmetically challenged plastic trim in the interior. You should be able to do something with the seats, whether you repair or replace them. If you are happy make him an offer and take it from there. :) Happy days :)
-
Hey very nice daily you have there :) Saw it advertised on ED38 good price too :)
-
Or just buy a TT
-
Nah I changed the big end shells when the conrod bolt went on mine(sounds exactly the same ) Cheap enough even from Awesome change from £30. Took a morning under the car and that was taking my time :)
-
Yeah noted!!! You normally find VWSH means they are parts fitters   Take off faulty parts and replace------no repairing !!!!! :cuckoo:
-
That looks very nice ,cool colour 8) 8) Go on p/m me how much you paid for her   Just for future reference when I go to buy
-
grey16 The only advise I can give you is give it a good looking over! (the guys who had mine replace the front pads and forgot to do the calipers back up!!!!! Schoolboy error

Thats what I thought I fancy my chances of picking up something reasonable like that MIke. "and a hose and plastic housing spiltting 200 miles from my home." Typical never happens at the bottom of your street does it
-
No chance of that -----it`s a corrado we are talking about   So the chaep VR6 is really only cheap if you are looking for a car for parts   Its really like all car buying ----- buyer beware!!!!! There are numerous VR`s on Ebay just now all under £1000 ----- and some even look quite good  Looking around the £3000+ cars seem to be sticking and taking a lot longer to sell. I might start looking at the hgher priced Corrados and go in with a low offer all they can say is no ----or F*** Off   Depends on how keen people are to sell. :( Maybe I should just bit the bullet and go and buy the mintiest Storm I can find and cherish it
-
Thats what I thought. Course if it turns out to be that bad could always break it  Thres a few on Ebay just now well under £1000 ,long way to travel though for a plug
