  1. Me too please Kev :norty: Ill cover postage if required. Do you still have my addy?
  2. god luck with the soldering, they look tiny! When ever I see "untested" I read that as "more than likely faulty" and stay away unless it's worth a punt. All the best with this project mate, looks tough.
  3. some details about SAI deletion here. http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?4948292-SAI-delete-questions-and-sugestions Im looking into this as it may be the reason for mine not adapting. how do you know if its not adapting as I was told by Vince so wanted to see if I've now fixed this issue or not. Send me the pin outs too please mate.

    Mkv r32 ecu

what happened to the ones I found you on ebay?
  5. I was in the audi bud (blue a4 avant with 19 inch black lm's), doubt you would have spotted me. You were just turning into St Peter's Drive.
  6. hows £20 inc delivery as the box will be quite large to protect it.
  7. good to see that the new engine has the ecu plug intact!
  8. i have one in grey, and may even have one in black
  9. Whilst out on a stag do this weekend in Bath I saw a white rado. Not sure if the driver saw a drunk lout dressed in old school golfing gear air thrusting in the direction of the car.
  10. Sorry. I was only thinking of using the dump sensor for oil temp, not for servicing.
  11. Kev, any idea of the wiring setup for the sump sensor? Been wanting to wire into this for some time now but cant find any details.
  12. all good now guys, definitely the crank sensor at fault. Kev, Ill get onto the sunroof soon. You'll have first refusal dont worry. You going to any shows as I can aim to have it ready and meet up to save costs. pm me Thanks again everyone.
  13. Dave, if the offer is still on then I would like to buy the sensor off you. Got back from the Czech Republic after meeting up with Honeywell/Garrett and decided to put the car back together so its back in the condition it was leading up to the missfire problem. :-) Just need to give it a good clean after the garage roof decided to pee on it.

    Modest

could be a bargain, buy and see if it is indeed the best one if its isnt take it back and claim money back for false advertising. Shame as he could get allot more for very little initial effort. No wonder its not sold on the many other different places. glws shops open.
  15. actual and dial speeds seem to always differ. You can tweak it as mentioned above but even out of the factory the dials (standard ones) always read faster.
  16. Cheers Dave, Im away all week so wont have chance to send the sensor back to you until I get back. Sorry about that. Damn, thats bad news! Why do you reckon that was then? Are you saying the crack is causing the plugs to fail under boost or thats a secondary failure Ive already got 312mm disks but the brake feel is naff. On the other Corrado I shall be fitting larger servo assists.
  17. been a while since Ive updated things but not much ben happening. Mostly been trying to problem solve this running issue but thanks to Kev and Dave I've found the problem and it was the crank sensor Just ordered a new one for around £80 to replace the borrowed sensor from Dave but I took the car out yesterday in the mean time and I must say there was a big grin on my face. Only issue is I forgot how pants the corrado brakes feel compared to modern Audi's lol. Im now confident that the lambdas, cam sensors are correctly plugged in so should all be running as it should (Kev and me found that the sensors werent right) so maybe Ill get a few more hp and mpg? time will tell. need to clean the car up again and sort a few things out to be able to say its all back together properly but at least I can start using it properly again.
  18. newb! Use the search feature theres loads of info on how to do the swap including a downloadable instruction guide. 6 speed swap is possible but more work and £££'s
  19. give me a chance to work out if I can sell it. I wanted to keep it incase the other one popped or something. If I did want to let it go I would want what I paid for it which I think was 250pounds (my pound sign isnt working on the forum for some reason). not sure what the going price of these are but like I said just want what I paid back. Having looked on ebay, there is one already for sale, you would have to check its the right one and I can look up my ecu number if that helps? http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-A3-8P-3-2-V6-Engine-Control-ECU-/130676211730?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item1e6ce8c012#ht_996wt_954 Anychance you could forward the pin outs when/if you get them? Might put the details on the guide too. Is DBW essential? I've seen some do throttle conversions but I decided to use the engine as it was supposed to. no idea of the pros cons for a retro conversion ---------- Post added at 6:07 PM ---------- Previous post was at 6:05 PM ---------- heres another one http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Audi-TT-Coupe-3-2-V6-Quattro-250PK-S-tronic-ECU-8j0-907-115N-/320901527586?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM&hash=item4ab738b822#ht_522wt_1140 looks like they are cheaper these days. :(
  20. sounds like the price has gone up, maybe due to all of these conversions lol. Looks like I got there in early enough. Maybe someone has links with VAG germany, they may be better priced?
  21. sheet, thats ramped up a bit. Although I do remember it depended on the model ordered for. however iirc the cheapest ie mine was 160 but the other was about 1300 so this price hike does see like "inflation" but worth trying and checking?
  22. looms are, or at least were affordable from the dealers, I bought a brand new engine loom from audi for 160 iirc pedals, arent too hard to get a hold of and I think they dont have to be r32 or audi 3.2 spec. I bought the the whole car body loom from ebay germany for around 200. all the best mate
  23. bump, more bits to come when I can get round to take pics and upload
  24. sorry to hear that, what mix of bits do you have then? I thought the mk4 used dbw throttle like the mk5 anyway. Which part of the loom do you need? I have a mk5 ecu (really wanted to keep it but if your desperate?) fyi, my cam sensors where plugged wrong way around and i never noticed any issues whilst driving! maybe your issue too?
  25. Thanks to David I have had chance to swap my sensor for his, was a little awkward to do and couldnt find the right allen key (found all the others but not the needed 5mm! why is that always the way!?) Anyway. started her up and rev'd very well, no misfire. couldnt take her out for a drive but im confident the issue is down to the crank sensor so well done Jay! Off to order a new one tomorrow but for the life of me I cant work out how the car started, idles and kinda ran with a duff crank sensor!? common knowledge suggest that the car needs a signal to know when to spark/inject etc and before someone sais it relies on the cam sensors, these were both disconnected at one point and it still ran. So maybe the sensor was partially working or a a poor earth (presume the fixing bolt acts as an earth through the sensor?) Will play around with my old one a little before fitting a brand new one but fingers crossed this was the issue. yipee!!! thanks again to all (esp Dave for the lend and Kev for coming up from Essex), if you dont hear anything further on this post it was definitely the sensor in some manner.
