Many thanks Jim, was probably the bonded side trims then...but update now is...... ....had a voicemail from Autogalss saying they are now unable to fix the Corrado due to unavailable trims/glass - so a wasted couple of weeks with them. Had to now go to National Windscreens as a second supplier to the insurance co., so will see how that pans out. They just need to order the scuttle clips, glass and trims.

So have been unfortunate to have suffered from delamination in near side lower corner several weeks ago which has now developed into a crack (inner pane). Autoglass are required repairers through insurance. They say the glass has arrived but are now awaiting the 'trims' which are on order The outer push-in rubber trim (let's call A), a single piece is straightforwrad and can be pulled out and replaced from existing one (ie the A pillars and roof). Then there is a seal (B) which lips onto the top of the screen glass (pg 64.7 of workshop manual). Then there are the mouldings (2xC) that are bonded to the glass either side (A pillar locations). These, last time I had the screen replaced (6-7years ago), were already bonded. Other than spacers, I am not aware of any other trims that are required for a Corrado windscreen replacement. Autoglass have delayed fitting by two weeks now, even though the glass has arrived, having been specailly ordered - saying that trims now need to be ordered. These apparently and according to Autoglass need to be ordered by VW from Germany! Can anyone please shed some light on the 'trims' that Autogalss may be referring to. Unless they are the C parts and they are then bonded to each side in the UK. I have asked for their master technician to call me to explain, after requesting an explanation now for the third time/person. For information, as stated, went through a replacement several years ago, when three new screens were required. Two the broke while fitting (mobile fitters) with the third being done in branch. However I understand that they now only have mobile fitters and do not use branches - rather worrying. Thanks

Went for this this summer. Hopefully a keeper for life - been after it for twenty years. Right colour, right spec.

Thanks. I have two fairly modified ones, so yes, I dare say you'd get a very decent Corrado for the money :) Thanks- Though they are modified, the engines and gearing are nothing particularly special. 30.5cc and stock 26cc. Not two speed either so appx 40-50mph. With two-speed, anything 60-80mph. Record with twin cyls is appx 111mph.

Small cautionary tale - might have missed the memo or post when I was doing my searches, but this may help someone who's yet to do theirs. Heater matrix just completed - and part ordered from GSF, looking at the Hella one - went for the premium item Part No. 178VG0041 . Reg input etc ABV, £37 with discount, all great. Dash out and guess what - wrong part!! Matrix body etc slotted into the housing perfect but when offering up housing (with matrix) to the aperture in the bulkhead, it just clashes with the edge of the aperture and does not protrude far enough into the bay to get clips/hoses on, or space for the support/foam. The picture on the GSF website is correct (not that I knew the profile of the matrix prior) and they do not do another version, as far as they tell me for the VR6. They also admitted they were aware of the issue as returns are apparently commonplace - don't think they have any plans to change the website info either. Mate rang around and managed to get a Nissens one which was the only one that matched (ie a picture showing the curve) the original matrix's two curved connector pipes, see pic below. You will see the Hella one has straight connectors. Once you remove your hoses, you will need to look carefully at the connectors projecting from the matrix to check if they are curved - please don't assume the GSF part will fit. Anyone else encountered this - as I said I may have missed the thread with the info. Thanks

Hi - Looking for an ABS light- actually the inner plastic part only, into which the metal spring clips slide. Anyone have a spare lying around they no longer need and want to sell which has no broken parts/cracks, Thanks. If you have a complete unit that'll be great - will be ending in BA not AA please - it'll have the smooth cover, not the dimpled one which surrounds the 'ABS' on the front. Otherwise if you have an AA version and the inner plastic piece is intact will also be interested - assuming the inners (sleeve, not the connector part) are the same for the both AA and BA versions. Thanks

Renewed both door membranes a couple of weeks back and used eBay sourced clear 1000 Gauge polythene with black cloth reinforced tape. The window must have been replaced previously and the replaced membrane was not good to say the least (some sort of sealer - left a messy job).
