Very very much appreciated mate - pm send. Thank you!

As above, if anyone has replaced their alarm, and by any chance still has the old Conlog alarm fob sitting in a box somewhere (and that isn't needed any more) - would greatly appreciate it as the case of mine has broke (where the keyring goes). Does not matter about the internals, just after a good condition case. Please drop me a pm and lmk what you need. Many thanks.

Yep, the actual rubber o-ring. Down to luck then. Good to know.

Thanks - I've been after mine for a while, but stopped looking after repairing it with a blob of JB weld (directly onto the pinhole leak) - Been great for the past few months. Gave Heritage a call on Weds, they had it - and it came in today. Will use it if ever my repair job fails. Note their are two prices, make sure you request the 7.04 one, not the 15 quid one for anyone ordering! This one came with the o-ring.

Ordered a SS battery clamp late this summer - at that time they were already ceasing the business, and had very little stock. I did get what I was after but that was down to luck. Pretty sure they have now ceased.

VR6 Battery recommendations - search not playing nicely...

Again, Bosch S4, type 75 from Eurocarparts, back in August, 63.54 inc vat. -
Not a good combo - plastic nut housing, metal nut and locktite + 16+ years. Both my brackets split, and I had to (carefully) drill off one bolt head. Used a longer s/s M6 hex button head to replace the stock one, with a washer and locknut on the original repaired bracket. If you cant get hold of a replacement, JB (Marine) Weld is excellent stuff for repairs like these.

question for those that run headlight loom /relays
Storm Guy replied to steveo29's topic in Engine Bay
Didn't go down the bath testing route either..lol. Good IP rated box (even though penetrations made without proper grommets! - 'cause wiring all pre-assembled) should be good enough to provide some decent protection, with boxes corretly orientated. Good choice available at http://uk.rs-online.com/web/c/enclosures-fans/electronic-instrumentation/plastic-boxes/...either plastic or alu of your choice. Endless choice, easiest to take your loom down and see what fits best or takes your fancy. Both boxes, one with fuses, the other with relays are located side by side in front of battery. -
^ A BIG +1! Thanks Dave

Arrived this morning Matt - many thanks, excellent. -
Happend on my Blackberry VR6 many years ago, cant recall what we did back then. More recently though (2006) my Storm also did the same thing. Is frustarting and can be dangerous to say the least. VW diagnostic resulted in replacement of damper part # 021133429A, appx £20 odd at the time. Never stalled or missed a beat since. Worth a shot for small money.

Thank you Jim. Yes, seems to be a fairly common problem, just at that tiny point at the top where the moulding seems to have been snapped off during production. Thanks, really appreciate the efforts anyway. They do seem good guys whenever I have contacted them via email, with good prices too. That ZW1 offer sounds good...lol, thanks, but something else looks like it may have come up to satisfy my desires:) Thanks again guys. If you think there may be interest in the combined order from Classic VW, then of course I'd certainly be interested in being a part of it.

Any joy? Thanks

Sounds good - any chance of some detailed pics of the edge curves and underside please - and also look forward to the installed pics. Thanks Looks top notch - particularly like the dark option. -
Wow- Excellent - thanks again!!
-
Very much appreciated - that would be great, thank you. By classic parts do you mean VWHeritage? I ordered another part from them recently but had to wait over 3 weeks for it to arrive (from Germany, from classicvw.de) so was hesitant in ordering again from them again Thanks

Looking for (preferably a new) rad elbow. New options seem to be classicvw.de but cant seem to get anyone to pick up the phone (just a German voicemessage), or US. Gruvenparts also do an expensive billet replacement but would like to use stock part - does anyone please know of any other relatively quicker UK sources. Many thanks

My bad - missed the signature 1993 C! Thanks

Your symptoms sound exactly the same as mine were last week - on fact over the past few weeks. Changed the battery et al but the simple solution turned out to be the plug from the immobiliser coil around the ignition barrel, into the immobiliser box under the dash ( under the headlight switch). Unplug, spray with wd40 (or in my case electrical cleaner fluid) and reinsert. Now starts instantly.
