Thats a good idea mate, I was told to use newspaper when drying the car, it also could work inside too.... Aparently it contains some ingredient in the mulch which leaves a perfect shine & condensation free etc... cant be bothered tho
-
Hi there guys, Just a post to advise anyone who doesn't use their C much or suffers condensation issues I found the best way, and cheapest way to deal with this is using an internal dehumidifier bag... It is very easy, just put it in car and it works by roughly keeping the interiour at 60% relitive humidity.. and its reusuable! Keeps the car in good condition & i havent used the window rag in 2 months..

The kit I has got does it all. My mate is willing to supply HID kits at a good price...
-
Hi there, I know your feeling a bit like a fish old of cold water & there are alot of copy HID kits so you do need to get wise, check all the specs etc. I got mine through my mate who contacted a guy direct from China, tell you what they are BRILLIANT! If you are intrested in a genuine Bosch kit, that is really good by the way, i can put you in touch with my mate whos currently ordering a batch in as we speak... PM me any time. It takes no more than an hour to fit the kit & knowing that these are fitted to BMWs is a nice touch 8)

Forget your uprated looms (unless you wish to make then yourself) i have tried literally for years with the one hit wonders who claim to make them to order & then dissapear... trust me HID Bosch units are the way to go... 8)

I myself managed to fit a genuine Bosch unit to the car, its the best decision I have ever made! Easy to fit & is like daylight

Ive been told that a paint tin can be anything of the order of £70-120 depending on the type, plus any primer & filler coats, in your case a primary colour should be bit cheaper. If you can prepare the car first you may be able to get it done @ £600 (cash in hand) but get friendly with a mate of a mate first...

Any system you want will do the job, even hand made ones can be a nice custom touch, just remember these VWs we love need heat exchanger designed systems...

Hi dude, I am all familiar with the dreaded rust invasion... I saw a bit on my arches & saw sorrow & depression :( But rest assured the repair was superb, check the pic mate! The wheels are next in the refurb program... My mate Vince may be able to sort it for you, reasonable deals... hes a great vw & porsche modifyer - mechanic with hes own business in, essex, you can have hes number for a quote?

You will be able to get to the bits easier with the head off the car. Word to the wise, renew all the studs & gaskets, they are cheap enough anyway. Use bolt shifter like plus-gas before attempting removal of corroded ones. The head uses expansion/twist bolts which when torqued up lock the head down, they are not to be re-used! Worth getting the head re worked while your at it, a worn valve guide or two will make a rattly sound & effect power. Its not outside a reasonable budget to get sorted...

well iv'e just spoke to 2 local vw specialists and they want £180+ to fit my manifold   so me thinks i'm gonna do it my self :? any tips??? Right well here I can advise you, I rebuilt my G60 engine a while back, it depends how much experience you have with cars, it can be done in the engine bay its very tight & requires you bending to the very back of the engine with limited room you may have to modify your tools to fit. Ensure the gasket faces are clean! Alternatively you can drop the engine out completely as the VW manufactures would of built the engine before putting in the car. Its a big job but you can get on & sort out all the other problems you have been meaning to do. I would advise renewing the studs & nuts on the mating part of the block whilst doing that, try borrow a torque wrench if you can, its all fun to learn anyway... good luck Regards,

Yeah thanks mate, tell me about it, I just want to wrap it up in cotton wool! Best thing to do is let it get dirty then no one will notice...
-
Easy mate, yeah the corrosion was found to be a dodgy crash repair rear left, on the sill in front of the back wheel. Apparently it wasnt structual but when someone had a crash @ some point in the past it was filled with fibre glass  fortunately my mate did a superb job on the whole car it now rings true metal :thumbleft:

Hi there, I had my car sorted out for all its dents, knocks & scratches at long last... Upon starting the job it was discovered that there was a dodgy crash repair rear quarter so it had to be refabricated from scratch :( . My friend Vince, a self employed Porsche/VW custom mechanic, did the work for a very good price, to be honest for the money he did a huge amount of work to the car. If you would like to make enquirys as the the repairs on your car please PM me for details. 8) It had become a bit of a dog with all the years but underneath the engine is sweet as a nut, I rebuilt this a few years back. The suspension is sweet & the clutch last summer... The bushes around the same time. I have also fitted genuine Bosch HID headlight kit, the best money I has ever spent. Just got to sort the wheels out & were sorted. It drives like a dream now! I love it when a plan comes together! :)

Got myself some HID Bosch lights sorted out last week, its so incredible to be able to see in front of me that I broke down and wept  I highly recommend them to anyone!
-

-
Good luck with that mate, I know how you feel, I had mine off the road 18 months 18 months ago while I rebuilt the engine... Its currently in for respray this week... :D

Interesting, the kit I has ordered is an H4... H7 still always room for improvement...!
-
well theres a good idea lol
-
Sinister! There is one 'hidden' bolt hole if I recall you could of missed...? The underside of the Corrado is a bit like the inside of a rotting tree stump... you never know whats in there! lol
-
thats a tad worrying mate! Haha well if it goes who am I to argue lol best thing to guess its a mounting bracket bolt for an ancillery component like the PAS pump or something...
-
3coursemeal, I am agast that you took the sump off mate, that should never need to come off unless you need a new gasket or engine repairs! Glad you managed it in the end, but PM me any time if you are unsure about something if I can help I have 10 years professional experience as an engineer. regards

Thanks for the handy link mate, is it the same as a 'rado? Good luck with that!
