poorly put together too, spent a while on ebay with succesful bidders changing their minds when reality hit, i think it was relisted 3 times that i noticed :pukeleft:
-
that would be a result of all the bits i`ve had to buy recently
-
i think it would look better like this
-
..........shoot me down in flames by all means as this may not be the case, but i thought insurance companies had some sort of " dont have to pay " loophole because it was on private land, it`s one of those things that is in my head but insurance policies may have moved on a bit and now that is no longer the case - i remember this from sometime ago about a parking knock a "friend" had in a private carpark and had no recourse to claiming from the guy that crumpled his door because it didnt happen on a public road.
-
....is a garage forecourt private land, i dont suppose there is a loop hole there somewhere :?:
-
bookmarked, i`ll be giving them a try in the near future :thumb right:
-
i have a set of eibach springs on my vr and the whole car looks like it`s too low at the back, i opted to leave the eibach on the front and standard on the rear, what with the weight of the sound system presently going in i`m hoping it will even out, if not, it will have to be coilovers
-
i managed to pick this up off ebay for virtually no money....and it`s mint, i`ve been looking at others but the prices just seem to rocket out of any sensible price bracket
-
i`d be interested in a yellow top....
-
hello paddyg, pm sent

i couldnt sell my C, i`d probaly try and sort out a load of stuff to sell on ebay to cover it`s keep, you`d probaly resign yourself to thinking that you didn`t have much choice but to sell the old girl but i bet you will feel like someone has lopped a leg off a few months down the road, especially when a sorted C passes you as you walk down the road
-
probaly, but you would have to cast your net a bit wider and include other vw models, are you going to be selling via a website rather than a proper shop ? have you researched values of parts here and over there and the postage to make it viable, there may be a tax if shipping new stuff ? there are probaly a whole load of other questions that you havent realised that need asking yet, i run a small ltd company myself and that can be problematic enough in old blighty let alone in another country, that said, if it all pans out ok then you may have a nice little niche of desirable C stuff winging it`s way here :) i dont want to sound like i`m p*ssing on your fireworks but you have got to do some serious research - all the best to you mate

does wheel width have much effect handling/ traction??
gaz the geezer replied to adamukcorrado's topic in Drivetrain
the footprint width difference will be negliable as it`s the mounting lip that will be altered, i doubt that you will notice much of a difference -
i have a spare vacuum pump should you need one, it came out of my old gti 16v and it worked perfectly, it`s just one of those parts that hung around after i broke the car.

bad darts mate, if you had murdered someone in cold blood with a pickaxe handle you`d probaly have got a slap on the wrist :indiff:
-
....try NOT wearing size 9 divers boots, less fun tho :)
-
thats a well sorted engine bay, looks dead smooth

Any 1 know anything about diesel engines?
gaz the geezer replied to PoorMansPorsche's topic in Engine Bay
the transit has iirc a fuel enrichment device on the injection pump and a temp sensor ( depending on year ), another problem that can afflict these engines is the horrible hand priming pump that allows air to enter the system and the fuel in the line to drop back into the tank, replacement is the only cure i`m afraid and it isnt peanuts to buy either, if you can check with an iveco dealer that it uses the same hand primer as the transit then this will usually be your problem, that said, it would also be a good idea to replace the fuel filter and ensure the fuel lines are ok. -
....sounds basic but have you checked your wheel studs ? it`s something i experienced after going to one of those quick fit places, they usually wap them up so tight that even the arnie schwarzenegger couldnt get them off

i bought the missus a bora about 8 months ago and she loves it to bits :luvlove:

The "what I did to my Corrado today" thread...
gaz the geezer replied to Jim's topic in General Car Chat
...just picked up my freshly shotblasted and primed rear axle, looks good, now i`ve got to finish off making the puller so i can put a pair of brand new bushes in, i`m looking forward to putting this all back together :-P -
smacks of " bed head " to me, i`ve got a spare comb if you need one
-
i didn`t take it that way anyhow mate :) , that can be the trouble with text, it`s sometimes misinterpreted
-
thats why i said i may be wrong, one thing i have noticed is that fords etc can mysteriously rust in the middle of a panel despite having no damage to the paint, i`d say the materials are better on the vw stuff
-
....you have got an excellent sense of humour walesy
