They said it was a pain to change the wishbone bushes and to do the whole unit... ..and that came from 3 garages !

Where can I get these "poly" bushes please?

Ok guys, I have a contact to supply and custom fit Stainless Steel Exhausts. The exhausts will be 2 1/2 inch bore, from the CAT back, with a choice of tailpipes (max. 8 !) The exhausts will be owner transferable (£20 when the change takes place) i.e. the next owner can enjoy the lifetime warranty too. Price : £310 He will need the car on his ramps to fit the system (Cardiff). Last thing - if there is some interest, he is prepared to negotiate ( 5 cars or more ) Please respond if interested.

I am getting a price on genuine wishbones on Monday. I'll keep you posted.

I will probably go with them if no-one convinces me otherwise. I am not getting much advice on exhaust systems...I have been offered one (supplied and fitted) for £290 - Cat back SS. Worth it or should I get a Miltek? Why?

GSF have wishbones for £40+VAT each - they come with bushes on them (but not ball joint) total = £93 How big a job is it to fit them ?

Gonna have a look myself tomorrow morning. I must now change both front wishbones - any good advice here too? Cheers :)

No, the exhaust is not blowing, but apparently, it's condition may be considered insecure due to one of the brackets not holding properly. This would be an MOT failiure.

£633 is a lot of money to me - regardless of how much work was done. I must now change both wishbones and the "big" part of my exhaust (apparently) has a hole in it, and is not secured properly. SSteel one? Any recommendations where to get it? All of this will take the bill over £1K - "hefty". Any recommendations on SS exhaust systems welcome.

They charge £30/hr +VAT.. Parts cost: GMAX suspension kit - £235 All other parts involved - £195 Now you experienced guys should be able to tell me roughly what my total cost should have been. :roll:

I was warned that the bolts sometimes shears :(

My wishbone bolt sheared last year - how much did AmD charge you for all that work m8? (including fixing the sheared bolt) I will post my cost when I have had a few more estimates if that's ok :D

Ok guys - bear in mind I know VERY little about fitting things, what should this bill have been..? - Supply and fit GMAX suspension kit (kit cost about £240) - Supply and fit top suspension strut mounts (inc. bearings) front (both sides) - Supply and fit rear upper and lower shock mounts (both sides) - Supply and fit 6 NGK spark plugs - Supply and fit new front disks and pads - Full service All of the above work was carried out in VW Specialists. ...oh yes..they advised on changing both complete front wishbones as the bushes were shot in them (not worth just changing the bushes) - is this correct ?

I have had the whole thing out now - sod it !
