  1. Well nothings for cert at the moment..... I'm not to sure what to do. I may just put it up forsale and see what sort of interest it creates.... Mr Sands, Now come on Ed.. You know you want it
  2. True..... But I think the C just isn't practical enough for me anymore..... I suppose if it was standard then maybe, but I couldn't have it standard due to the "BUG" of modding..... Its in the blood  I love the C for how it looks but My mrs hates getting into it, and I won't let her drive it :?
  3. Well guys.... This is the 5th time i've washed the light dust off the C in nearly 6 months..... of non usage!!!! While I was washing it today... My mind was going round and round in circles... A part of me is still very much loving the C and its exaxctly how I would have ever wanted one/it... but the other part of me is saying "I don't use it so let someone else enjoy the benefits".... I keep telling myself that once the weather picks up I'll start using it, but tbh I just can't see that happening.... I may just get something like a nice convertible number, to use thats practical enough for the three of us to use on a nice sunny day  but again i'm not to sure what to do at the moment.. Seeing the Corrado go will break my heart.... :(
  4. Hmmmm.... So he's doing the chains for less £100 then, because Sachs Racing clutches are about £450 for a basic spec. So how can he make any profit doing heads for £200 and chains for £100? Labour is basically free. I'm calling BS on those prices, sorry. He actually charges £200-250 labour to do the chains and clutch. He gets his bits from Eurocarparts and uses the standard Sachs vr6 clutch so the cost is roughly £500 including parts. You can supply your own bits if you insist on genuine parts which increases the cost to about £750. Oh ok... But still, To do the Chains and cluth which he's supplying the parts £500... I'd say thats a bargain....
  5. Mate thats expensive isn't it???? I've got a chap in Stoke that will do the chains and replace all the bits n bobs including a sach racing clutch for £500. Also do the head for another £200 iirc.... Couple of people had their Golf Vr6's done and are very happy with the service...
  6. Mate... You need to hold onto it, if you've just threw that amount of money at it keep hold of it.... They are at a low price, but saying that this time of year is a buyer market, after xmas and all that  Should pick up once the spring time beggins... :)
  7. Ok well its not for my Corrado, its my Golf Gt Tdi. I've been getting some weird noises recently when underload and turning to the left... So had it diagnosed as CV Joints.... Gave Dealers a ring who quoted me £175 per side which included a sur charge of £50.00!!!!! I'm sorry but that is just robbery :x Anyhow, gave EuroCarParts a call who quoted £65.00 plus VAT!!! Surely they can't be that expensive??? Then to top it all off... 2.5 hrs of labour charge for each side  Anyhow.... I've been told its a common Mk4 issue especially with the tdi's due to the torqe.... Feckin Hell, yet another bill...
  8. 80k miles.... Well done.. How much did it set you back, if you don't mind me asking.... Just lets us know what they are still fetchin :) Oh yeah welcome to the gang ;)

  11. Live for today and enjoy yourself..... Get the loan and haggle for a bargain of a Vr from someone who is desperate to sell... Be carefull how you mod the car so if need be you can sell it and get your money back! If anything happens to the car, claim off your insurance and pay the loan off... I you can afford the monthly payments then why not!!! You only live once matey

  17. Once You've lined up all the clips to the holes.... Keep it very steady and instead of banging them in apply hard and firm presure. Thats should see you ok... If you dont align them all up properly you will encouter this problem and bend the clips

  21. Stan.... I know where your coing from!!! Now you've injected all that money into it for the Dream!!! engine change... Its pushed it to a financial limit that your thinking... "Man this is starting to cost me serious money" ????? These are the only reasons I haven't done it.... I'm happy with the Vr the way it is, don't get me wrong I'd love to do what you've done but hey!!! thats the way the cookie crumbles... If its the styling route ou want to go down..... p/x the C with someone whos still got a good example Vr and then with the spare change look at getting a daily mk4 Golf...... :)
