Hehehe, 3 sets, thats just greedy! I am almost tempted to get a set for winter wheels though... ;-)
-
Thanks Jim, I am really happy with them, especially as they 16s and the right PCD/Offset etc. I remember seeing a couple of Corrado's at VW Festival about 10 years ago with them on, in fact I stumbled across a picture I had taken at the time, I knew with careful tyre choice (for a little stretch) and some small amount of spacing it would look great. The wheels are a timeless classic, just the like 'rado!

Ah cool! If you want them at full res pm me your email addresses...

There's plenty of dents/chips/scratches on my car, believe me, the evening light makes it look alot nicer than it really is. But yes, the last time I polished it was over a year ago, just a quick wash and it comes up so nice, not bad for 18 year old paint. It does spend most of its life in the garage now though...

Cheers for the comments, they are BBS RC322 16x7.5 and I got them new from a guy in Holland so they are not refurbed and they have the lovely OE finish to them (it seems brighter than silver, but not quite polished if that makes sense). I fitted a 50mm front spoiler in preparation for these as the overall diameter is alot less than the standard 205x50x15 setup!

Ok, so its only been a year (and some) since my last post, but I have finally fitted my BBS RC's that I got from Holland last year. I have fitted them with 195x40 Conti 2's, slight amount stretch, I am really happy with them. Although the car now sits VERY low, but looks cool, which is the main thing right!? I have 5mm spacers on the rear currently, but they are going on the front, and I intend to go a little further out on the rear soon (~10-15mm). Car had its MOT last week and passed fine, no advisories either! :-) I took some nice pics last night in town, they came out rather well, I thought I would share them!

Cheers guys, I'll look at fuel filter/pump first and go from there...
-
This is not what I want to here at all! I do think my rings are on the way out though. I get some blue smoke on hard acceleration or when I suddenly come of the throttle - found that out at the 'ring last year.

Battery is fairly new, the engine turns over fine, so its not the battery, it just doesn't fire. Once it does fire it runs fine. Thanks.

Hi all, My C has started to play up when it starts. The engine has to turn over quite a few times before it finally fires into life. Once started it runs fine, idle is fine, accelerates fine etc. It seems that the longer it sits around, the longer it takes to start, it sounds like a fuelling issue to me, could it be the pump? Surely if it was the pump then it wouldn't run properly? Any ideas on what to check first? This week there was an intermittent 'squeak' coming from the engine bay when running from cold, but soon stops once warmed up, maybe its related...I dont think I have mice in the garage! Thanks in advance

I'll take 4 please, ta! -
Thanks for the wheel comments, if I get it right it should look good! I used the speedlines as the car drives way better than the RH's, which are much heavier. I also fitted a 50mm front spoiler for more clearance on the Ferry, as well as more clearance for the BBS wheels, as the car will sit another 1" lower, and the front was already scraping on the driveway with the 90mm! I cant recommend the 'ring enough, such an awesome experience, dont even think about it, do it!! I hope to go back next year, fingers crossed.

Well last week myself and 5 others (3 cars in total) went to the Nurburgring for my mate's stag do who is getting married in September. We travelled down to Dover early Monday morning, over to Dunkerque and then to the 'Ring. Well actually, I took a slight (worked about 2 hours more in the end) detour to Holland to pic up some new rims that I had found a month earlier, so lets talk about that first! I've been looking for a set of these for a long time now, and couldn't believe it when I found a guy was selling a brand new (yes, in the box) set, although he was in Holland and wouldn't post them. But fate was on my side, and I collected them on the Monday we travelled down. They are BBS RC322's, nothing new I know, but they are 7.5"x16" 5x100 ET35 so perfect for the 'rado!! I am chuffed to bits about actually getting them, not least because of the road trip to get them! Whats more I paid a damn good price for them (there is one on ebay.de for 240 euros, I paid nowhere near that, in fact just over £100 a wheel). Just need to get the tyres and some spacers to get the stance/poke right, but I cant wait!! stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfDSC_0504s.jpg[/attachment:1sge3xsf] Ok so on to the 'ring. We spent two days at the track, which only opens late afternoon for public use (for those that didn't know), but what an awesome 2 days we had. We spent the days visiting the new complex thats still not finished - the new museam is awesome, and we ended up seeing how fast we could change an F1 wheel, in two teams of three, we managed to get it down to 5.8 seconds, the record there was apparently 5.6, so we did well! The track opened up around 6 ish each day, and I did a couple of laps on both days. Such a fantastic buzz driving round there, I didn't thrash the car (as learning the corners take alot of laps - even after spending countless evenings on the xbox!) but just went as hard as I thought I could and only got into 'trouble' a couple of times, thankfully. I thought the track seemed shorter than driving it on Forza3, but what you really dont get the idea of is the gradient changes all the way round, there are lots of dips/hills, completely blind corners etc, but that just adds to the fun! I found the hardest part was actually keeping an eye on cars coming from behind, as ze local germans with zer porkers really could fly round there! Ok here are some pics from the few days over there:- Driving to Dover (the VR sounded awesome in the tunnel just outside Dover, 4th gear, foot to the floor, what a noise!!) stromlaufplan_gamma4.pdfDSC03020.JPG[/attachment:1sge3xsf] Waiting for the ferry... Looks amazing!! Good work! I must admit I'm going for some different 16's now because I didn't want 9's up front (and didnt think 7.5's would cut it), but urs look way cool with 7.5's!
-
Cheers buddy! All you need is some adjustable coilies!? If you REALLY wanna set I'll send you the ground-to-arch measurements :D I did toy with the idea of getting rid of them - hopefully have some new rimmage soon, but as I said, the money I'd get compared to what they are new is ridiculous, may have to refurb them...
-
Thats me!! (thanks swiftkid) and here's a pic.. x2uwplm8w8hioszm7g81.jpg[/attachment:2pakr4uo] They are great looking wheels, but yes, a tad on the heavy side. Mine also are in need of a refurb, no point in selling them as I wont get much for them, and when they cost ~£400 a wheel new, there's just no point.

StueyBs '95 VR6: Thread resurrection circa 2011...

Dood, that poor rim  I am keeping a look out! -
ah thought you were wanting 4 x 100 to 5 x 100 Yeah me too.. I do have a housing complete with bearing and 5x100 hub, if you can find another then'll that will make the job easier.
-
The rear should be the easy bit, although you'll need to check the 4x100 discs are the same size as the 5x100 (I am not sure). If they are then cool, if not then you'll need new carriers & calipers I would assume. The fronts are going to be harder as you will have to remove the hubs from the housings, which is not easy without a press. While you are there I would advise changing the bearings if they haven't been changed recently, use VAG ones, they are not cheap, but you get what you pay for. You will obviously need new discs/pads for the front to suit, again check the sizes compared to your 4x100, otherwise you will need new calipers/carriers also. Good luck!

Definately disconnect the battery! I did a little welding on my wife's tailpipe (ooo-er! ) and had no probs with the electrics afterwards. I am surprised they welded it before as the same thing happened to mine and I was told they couldn't do it because the heat would damage it.
