Is there a government regulator for insurance companies? like Oftel is for telephone companies?
-
Just what I was thinking, what is the point in those rear doors!? Perhaps it’s a 'transformer in disguise' :clown:
-
I also seem to have developed supercharged’s stainless steel bolt fetish
-
Right, i've got it. Just spent the whole afternoon cleaning it and i'll probably spend most of tomorrow as well. It looks fantastic, drives very well, all very very happy! Many thanks to all that helped me buy the car
-
yup, the cars 100% standard anyway

After half a day of calling loads of companies elephant have won it. Everone else's quotes came in usually at around £1400 for fully comp and TPFT is just under £1k Elephant did £693 for the year, £143.62 initial payment then 61.12 installments.

All pending our little adventure later today.

Cheers Mr urrrmm Charged! HPI checked out all fine but I’ll mail you the pics and stuff now. Yeah the wheels'll do for the minute, two of them have brand spanking new tyres on. PS. Whats with the edit of my posting, scared people will find out your real identity ;)

Agreed, I changed my job description on the quote from IT technician to IT engineer and it brought my quote down by £30!! why, i have no idea It's not all down to age but hitting those 21yr and 25yr benchmarks certainy makes a huge difference

Went on a "heavy track" driving day yesterday, I can highly recommend it! I drove a Saracen 6 wheel drive 4 wheel steer armoured people carrier, a 432 tracked armoured people carrier and a Chieftain tank. Here are a couple of pics

Urmmm are the furry dice really necessary ???

Just done an HPI check as suggested and all is fine, all i need now is the 'Charged roadtest (tent and stove packed and ready ;)) oh and the money!
-
yeah very well kept, full service history cam done at 55k oil looks very fresh as well. The guy actually wanted to keep it in a garage, just to be able to keep it. i think he's well gutted about selling it.

Here ya go!

OK cheers, i'll get some up. Well the thing that makes this car even more appealing is that the guy wants £1800! for a quick sale, keeps making me think "where's the catch"
-
Haha, yeah sounds about right! Yes i think it is! The advert turned out to not just be sales talk, the mileage actually was 2k under what was advertised. I'm still going through the "am i doing the right thing" stage though

Right i think buckled under the peer pressure from steve r(supercharged) and co'!! Went and looked at a 1995 2.0 16v on 74,000 miles in classic green (i think) with the corrado forum car buying "checklist" in hand, and absolutely loved it. Everything is still standard engine looks and runs nice and there doesn't seem to be a bit of rust anywhere , also all the electrics work! Spoiler, sunroof, mirrors, windows, etc. The only fault that is obvious is both headlights are cracked. Also the clutch pedal felt very very light and the gas pedal felt very very stiff as if i was missing the pedal and pushing on the floor, is this normal? The only 2 things to complete the decision are getting the cash through and it being passed by supercharged! PS how do i add pictures/whats the link to the page that tells me?? Cheers all

Got a TPFT quote back from greenlight, their premium charge is £897.75 just waiting on a fully Comp quote from them now. Elephant still in the lead
-
Just added my dad into the quote with elephant and brings the price down to £590, all looking very hopeful :) Going to look at the C on thurs, i've got 1st refusal on it, i've got a good feeling about it!
-
Lol oops, oh well i'm sure it'll get moved Humm Elephant comes in at £686 with 1 crash, looking promising! Just need to find the cash to be able to buy a car :)
-
I thought as much, but i just wanted to get a first post up ;)

Afternoon all, thought I might as well make my first post on here! I'm looking into buying a Corrado, and quite interested in a 2.0 16v. One thing I’m concerned about is how much its going to cost me to insure it being 21 with 2 years no claims. I've done a number of online quotes and getting replies of between £1100 and £1600 for TPFT. Fully comp comes in at £1400 +. Now there must be other 21 year olds on here in the same situation so recommendations would be very much appreciated! Cheers
