  1. Got mine in 2000 with 8500 (yip thats correct) 8) Now got 31500 :D Question is should the charger be done because of it age or wait for the 40\50 k mark Got 173 bhp on the rollers last year so I'm guessing or hoping she's good. PS one of the Scottish Region Boys just picked up a G60 with 15K on the clock this year so there are still a few low miliage examples kicking around.

    Tyre psi

A bit off the topic but has anyone tried putting air in the tyres at Sainsburys Petrol Stations you set the pressure on the pump and it will inflate\deflate to correct pressure. The one's I have used have been accurate as I have checked with my guage afterwards and its FREE!!!!!.
  3. Cheers Joe let me know how you get on. I'll be honest and say I've never heard good things about drivers when it comes to there alarms and stereo installs. But that was a good few years ago. They must be doing somehting right as they have moved to a bigger shop. l8trs
  4. I pre-booked a spot at Stirling and they said not this year DOH!!! Can't justufy the petrol just to go up to StarP so need to find somewhere local. This is my third year and its a top day out
  5. Is mileage the only thing in the equation? Or does age have an impact also. I know this seems obvious but are the consumables subject to a useful life span.
  6. Hi Roddy the geometry is not on this year but apparently they will do it at a discounted rate for club members at other times. see you there laters

    Fuel smell

I had exactly the same problem on my car (random smell of fuel) took it to my mechanic (only good with Lego myself) and he sorted it in two minutes but cutting the pipe going into the throttle body I think. It had started to perish at the join I had my car in for service at VW and they recommended I changed the fuel cap. So let’s see smell comes from engine change fuel cap YEAH right. If you still haven’t sorted it I will call him and get the technical low down for you. HTH
  11. Only room for one car on my street so not great at the best of times and if you give it to much run the risk of leaving the print of a C in the side of someones car. Second gear a lot of clutch :( and just let it run on idel not the most pleasent of experiances but job done.
  12. these guys sound alright and if anyone should know it would be the man in the trade
  13. Is that the correct url I get redirected to some domain registration site http://www.scl.co.uk/domains/ :? l8's
  14. I had my mechnic replace the whole thing new arial the lot and to be honest although it is better than before is still not great. Best Idea is to record the radio from the day before lol
  15. Cool glad to hear your back on the road again :fadein: laters
  16. My steering didn't work today something to do with the hill I was on and the snow and WAY to much torque
  17. I started to get tramlining when I moved from the original Pirelli's to avons. Not a lot but on the occasional road surface. The Avon's come a bit further over the alloy than the originals did and I would suspect they have more contact with the road hence the above. ker Plunk 2p in the bowl
  18. I've got the Avon's as well they are much better than my Pirelli’s but apparently the Uniroyal's are the dogs D's in the wet. That’s what my mate recommended I buy (works for a tyre distributor) But I had Avon’s on the front so thought I would keep them the same all round. My two mate with Vr's swear by the Michelin Pilots just my 2p worth
  19. Ive got my car going in there for my engine probs tommorow, will let you all know what I think, the guy does seem decent enough. Im in Clydebank which is only about 20 mins from there.[/quote:ded53] Dam I can't spell  Did you get it sorted?

    low mpg

Hi Guys I tried this on the way home from work. And although I got higher than 22mpg I still didn't get much more than 27 mpg no 99 on there with foot off the accelerator going down hill? How does the fuel cut off work. i.e. I have been told that when you are cruising in gear with your foot off the accelerator that you don't actually burn off any fuel because it cuts it off hence the 99 mpg. Could it be that mines is not working? Also I idle at between 815 and 825 is this right anyone with a standard G60 out there. It seems a little high but I don't know very much about this stuff. . Thanks for your help!! :D

    low mpg

Did you try this? Be dammed if I can find that issue kicking around. Will have a proper look later 8) Oh I just started working in Glasgow and have a four mile commute and I got 248 miles from a full tank lol  Think it may be cheaper to walk take bus or train. Must stop being a lazy bob strad . Thing is my parking spot cost 700 pounds a year so it would be rude not to take the car. BTW I'm not paying for the spot
  24. Fat Tony

    low mpg

I have never seen higher than 23 mpg on mine even when I reset it on the motorway at 56mph. But I did fill the car up once drove to Derby 1 tank and re-filled and work it out to around 32mpg so I reckon the reading is way out. Any ideas on how to adjust?
  25. It went for 37 quid plus postage I think you could make one for less than that  DOH I sold my extra one for a fiver lol  It went to Jon
