  1. check the plastic connector between the door latch and the rods. it should have the end bit on the outside of the door skin between the door and the latch mechanism to allow it to swivel to unlock and lock.
  2. Cheers for the replies, I've been told not to go for clifford cat2 as its no longer begin made... What to do? _________________ yep they have stopped the virtual key as the market place for immobilisers is dyeing out as most cars have factory ones.
  3. GRINGOG60, Cliffords alarms never seem to get instailed by decent caring installers from what i've read. I think other alarm companies insist on higher standards of install. wouldnt agrree with that i hold certifacates to fit clifford, gt alarms, scorpian, toad and cobra. a clifford fitted properly is a good reliable alarm with one of the best back ups out there, and there warrenty is any dealer if in trouble, not just the one that fitted it. out of 300 cliffords i have fitted only 2 have gone wrong and none have failed totally. usual probs are owners not the alarm. i have clifford on all my vehicles and i can get other makes cheaper but always would fit clifford. my 2 pence and what a 2 pence worth
  4. your alarm unit is in the passengers footwell panel :D
  5. me i would have a clifford and the duel zone if a clifford one wont invalidate your thatcham, or have it upgraded after and you then have your original certificate. what area you from as im in high wycombe and might be able to help. if a dual zone goes to many times in a short space, ie the prats are not going away and still trying the alarm wil sound. dont like air pressure sensors as can be set off by air vents left open, a fly a................. lots i know, stick to microwave. also consider a pager for your alarm, about £60 but can be wired to your prewarn or alarm sounding with a 1/2 mile range, ideal at night when the car is outside the flat and if on prewarn gives you a chance to go out and say hello to the f********
  6. have used raceland products on a lot of golfs and they are superb for the money, just get the sports shocks and springs for £130 ish and enjoy, plus a 5 yr guarantee
  7. its not that simple, a setup on a car is about 20 mins and this includes a quick check on timing and a few warm up run ups to check all is okay and to set up and calibrate the machine. then he runs the car up on a power run , and then repeats it to get a comparison. last time i was there with the golf 16v group they did one car 5 times as they couldnt get a even figure to compare to. guess this means no to a single run for a tenner. dont be tight you will love it.
  8. personal opion....... nooooooo
  9. if we get short of a few places my mate is coming to watch and will bring his mk3 vr6 golf if numbers need to be made up
  10. right the door pin lifts half way then goes back down again. i have got the door card forward so i have a little more access and the plastic bit the solonoid lifts to unlock the mechanism isnt lifting up enough. tried pulling it up but still not happening, any ideas how to get open so i can unbolt the catch?
  11. i only get 12 -13 on my g60and was told this was normal, so your not that far down. could be a ign timing prob or an air leak. try all vacuum hoses as the end rubber bits perish. whilst running spray on carb cleaner and if leaking the gauge will go up momenterally. good luck
  12. got them brand new ... pics to follow

  20. okay i connected up my af gauge yesterday, its a race x one but is the same as the summit one. it has ten led's and at idle it goes up and down like a yoyo. under load and hard acceleration i get 4-5 leds, and once 6. this seems a little low to me. at 100 mph cruising only the first led is on and it flickers so only just working. any ideas. at idle the voltage at the o2 sensor is betweem .1-.7 volt but dont know under load
  21. yep black smoke on hard acceleration full tank milometer and divide litres of fuel to refill divided by miles driven af gauge is only any good if your lambna sensor is good, as it uses this as a reader so what should the co reading be under load at say 4000 rpm
  22. any one got figures? my g60 is doing 19.2 to the gallon, tested over 3 full tanks to nearly empty cheers guys
  23. having come from a turbo escort with 183 bhp at the wheels i can honestly say that at the mo i niss the turbo kick. which is best is a real choice as both are so differant to drive if you want to have both on the same car then speak to chris todd at power engineering, he has a mk1 fiesta witha 1.9 cvh lump running a charger and a turbo, mental stuff. i like me charger but its gonna take a lot to make it as quick as me turbo. at least its bootable in the wet as power is smooth, a escort turbo on a wet road is spining everywhere. at donnington i couldnt keep up with a mk2 golf with a standard 2.0 in my escort, they were a lot quicker out of the corners. power up to 90, a charger, more then 90 a turbo everytime
