start vehicle, switch mfa to position 2, holding in the select button turn the engine off and restart. the mfa should change display to C10, press button once and you now have the boost reading. as far as i know 1880 is 1 bar/14.5 psi. mine reads 1970 but a boost gauge reads 15 psi, so about right. the book says 1400 is 5.8, and 1600 is 8.7. this is for up to august 1990. the chart for 91-92 stops at 1100 for some reason. but on that chart, 1100 is 1.5 psi, so looks like the same thing. since you have the motometer, it is easier for you to figure out. 1000 is atmospheric pressure at sea level (not sure where you live) or 0 psi. every 100 over that is 1.47 psi. thats about right for mine

There is no Big fine issued- i took my cat off along time ago (post 92 car) and have been pulled by the filth many times (damm them!) and had my car inspected and they have never questioned me for having removed the cat- and in ay case even if they were to winge about it, you are given seven days to rectify any fault with your car- So dont worry! 8) but were you stopped for a roadside emissions test? thats the one im on about not a general pull up " is this your car sir" and the fines are up to £ 1000 i believe. but hey who wants a cat anyway, mines gone.

top man henny .... cheers :D :D :D

removed my ISV the other day and hanging off the bracket below, was a small sensor with a brown and white wire going to it. it just sits mid air above the fuel rail, any ideas someone please
-
but it sounds tinny as hell, and sounds like its blowing all the time, did this friday
-
all cars from 'L reg' need to have a cat fitted and not just for emissions, they must be fitted ( visual ) and working ( emissions ) take off at your peril as if you get stopped for a police roadside emissions test, its a big fine if not fitted

3000 on the boost meter at 3000 rpm? do you mean the reading on the mfa? if so mines 1980at 5800. didnt fit the end cap as didnt want to cut the tensioner but will try it tomorrow, thanks

ive got one on my G60 and didnt notice any differance, but hopefully will last longer. all my mates use them on there golfs and jetta's that they use on track days and they seem to last forever. the jetta would do a standard mount in 6 months where as the vibratech has lasted 3 years. good value

im up for it now i got me charger rebuilt. wanna know how many bhp. want to try and better my old escort turbo  (183bhp @wheels  )

why is a charge cooler more efficient on a supercharged car then a intercooler. A charge cooler relys on a rad to cool the water so far the same as a intercooler(rad) . ow you also have to rely on a pump, water supply, and air temps to mke it work, where as, an intercooler just rely's on the air so less o go wrong. i agree there is a shorter pipe work on a chargecooler so should be a lower boost drop but i would still go intercooler for simplicity and reliability, after all most manufacturers use inter over charge
-
using a aircon system to cool intake charges is not a new idea. If your car is CHARGED the temp rises on a hot day, if cooled to a 20degree or less would produce more power then what the compresser drains, plus would stop detting and piston meltdown. stll cold air helps all as if there is an enrichment device and a cooling device then together more power.

as far as i am aware the FK's use Koni dampers built to there spec, and then use there own springs. Had koni's on my Escrt turbo and thought they were good, but, when they went soft after 16 months it was £65 for a strut rebuild. My mates run AVO coilovers on there golfs and jetta's and just had a front strut rebuit as it was leaky, avo got it tuesday he got it back thursday, £20 plus postage and vat, superb service no-one can beat. As for me i want FK konigsport but need £800 first.

so got any prices on the front mounted cooler as a kit or fitted please sir

i fitted a se of the raceland coil overs to my missus's golf 16v mk2 at christmas and they are superb. no harshness and the handling is spot on so will be getting a set for my c as well happy. the way the golf handles on them is one reason i changed from ford to VW. i'd say buy them
