You've misunderstood me. What I meant was why do you suggest a 'standard' battery charger can't be used to charge the battery on the bench? How else do you charge a battery other than suply it with a regulated flow of current? My car seems to have quite the appetite for batteries. I'm hoping that an Optima will sort things out, but there's a strong chance it may end up flat at some point. i will find the info tonight but its to do with the way the currant is supplied. on a normal charger you get a high initial amps and lowish volts and the amps drop as the volts rise. with gel and spiral its the other way round, high volts to start with low amps and then the volts drop and the amps go high usally you needs at least 13.5 to 14 volts to charge spiral batteries as they have a sitting voltage of around 12.8 volts minimum whereas most chargers go to about 12.8 to 13 volts

the information is standard automotive electrics. no flat battery should be charged via the alternator. if you jump start your car from a donar you should leave the leads connected for at least 15 mins to stabilise the battery. this is for a flat battery ie 6 volts or less not just one that wont turn the engine over fast enough to start.

just a point to all. if these do go flat you can not use a standard battery charger to charge them, or charge them from flat with the alternater

guys who would be interested in a parking aid thats measured by laser. i have delved into this subject with great detail and have found the best in my opinion, product on the market. obviosly these have a side effect which i can guess you all realise, but as they measure distance with an audiable beep they are legal. check the website at http://www.comtechproducts.co.uk/laserpro these sell at £295 but i have arranged a discount on ten or more for £225 if interested please let me know by pm
-
well i can sell you one no probs but your miles from me if your in dorset

Gotta love that BlackJaxx is an anti car jacking system and its a bloody good system also, saved a few friends cars so well worth it. but thatham says that no alarm system should be able to disable a car whilst driving for driver safety...................... twats also all clifford g4/5 can have a basic turbo timer fitted if required
-
you can buy the module but you need a clifford alarm to run it. if you want a unit pm me and will sell you one
-
if you fit this module then yes it does invalidate the thatham cat1 technically, only in the sense that it hasnt been evaluated. also blackjax does the same. from a legal point of view your not allowed to leave your car running on a public highway if your not in full control of your vehicle. well you are in control as its locked and you can turn it off whenever you want and its still alarmed so if anyone opens the door then the car stops and the alarm sounds, perfectly legal, as checked by thames valley police for me when i used to fit them
-
does anyone have a installation wiring diagram for the above alarm please
