I have 312s, painted in 3 coats of red smooth Hammerite, the finish is excellent. Always come back to clean and clear red after each wash. Good Tip: Paint them outside in a shed or somthing and leave them in a cool place to dry as Hammerite drys quicker in the cool than warm for some reason.

I had heard the screen wash comment before, but after looking at another forum apparently Holts screen wash no longer contains Methanol, something to do with the fumes being toxic, and its only in there if it clearly says on the tin! Reason I asked about the difference between the race suppliers and model shops is:- Race Supplier = £12 a gallon + P&P Model shop = £6 a gallon and I can collect Surely there must be a difference in the grade or something?

Looking for a supplier of Methanol for an Aquamist system.... I've found race suppliers doing it for silly money and model shops (for RC cars) doing it at quite sensible prices.... Question is whats the difference between each? What should I be looking for in the Methanol, grade etc?? Anyone know a good supplier?

Only problem with the shortened final drive, say 3.68 like mine, is it would be wheel spin city without an LSD in there!! I still get a little wheel spin if I'm not carefull pulling off in the wet.

I know I can source a "kit" which will provide a new VR6 sized bell housing, R32 gear box mounting frame, hydraulic clutch conversion plus some CNC machined bits and bobs. Just wondering if anyone had proved this a viable setup.............

Mine dropped of a few weeks ago..... Apply a little pressure to one of the edges of the knob and it should pop off. Underneath there is a small bolt, which seems to work loose, give it a light tighten, not too much or you'll strip the threads on the seat side of the assembly, as I managed to do a little!!

Bit of an out there one...... I've been looking into a 6 speed gear box of late, obviously there are the usual options, quaiffe or Gemini......much cost involved. I've found some information suggesting that it is possible to fit an R32 6 speed gear box to a corrado with the correct adaptors and a few other bits and bobs. Has anyone done this, know of anyone who has?

Sorry no real details just noticed them while picking through their For Sale section..........

Pulling to the right under braking and aceleration

Check your track rods as well, recently had mine changed due to a bit of light collision damage thanks to an idiotic Royal Mail driver! Tightened up the handling quite a bit. -
There are quite a few sets of 312s on VR6OC for some very reasonable prices just now, if thats any help...

j16jrf Any mechanic should be able to do the cams alone for a few hours labour max. Only mess with the chains if they are noisey or the signs are that the top tensioner is worn when the rocker cover comes off!

Ahh all makes sense now... I found a set (front and rear) on E Bay about 2 months ago going for about £1k, try find a part they have contacts with lots of breakers yards etc....
-
For that price, 312mm of a TT or Audi are about the only option.........just noticed you said 4 stud?? On a VR??? Try Brembos off a Seat Leon, I think they fit on the 4 stud with the right adaptors......

Stunning looking wheels!!! Anyone know if they've got a UK supplier??

Yeap, Fidanza Flywheel.... Got one fitted when I got the gear box with the diff and shortened final drive fitted. Instantly noticable differance in rev up out off gear. Can't really say about the in gear acceleration/rev up as the gear box makes a stunning difference to it all!! Does seem to thrash through the rev range though.
-
Fire a Fidanza in there while your at it, well worth it for the faster rev up!! nice and cheap from US E-Bay..........

Someone told me about them, randomly looked up the web site, gave them a call......before I had read up on them.....

Hi all, I've read all the posts regarding TSR Performance's demise and fall from glory....... The problem I've got is I spoke to a very helpful guy called Ross about two days regarding a rebuilt 2.9 VR6 Le Mans pack engine (comes ported etc etc, they claim 220BHP at the flywheel) fitted for about £3200, prior to reading all the posts about their demise....... Does anyone know the guys running this place now? Anyone used them since re-opening? Anyone heard good or bad things?

GSF do the track rod and end for £25 each...........

Thats what I was hoping, such a mare as the handling was sweet before this! Thanks for the referal to Imperial as well Yandards

Hi all, I've given the search ago but not really had much luck... Jist of what happened is a muppet in a Royal Mail van tried to squeeze by me as I was turning out to reverse into a parking space, never noticed at the time he had clipped my Passenger Side front wheel (Royal Mail red gave that away later). He's left a small kerb type mark on the wheel, so not too harsh a blow. Even worse I never got his details because I thought he had missed me!!! Since then my steering is pulling quite a bit to the left, I get vibration at the steering wheel from 30-40mph and beyond, it pulls when cruising and accelerating. Doesn't have the same steering accuracy on the curves. Had it checked for alignment today at ATS, its in alignment still, the guy doing work had a nose about under the car and has said my passenger track rod is bent. Question is what do I need to replace and is anything else likely to be bent/buckled as well?

Save up for some good suspension, cr@p in = cr@p out! Nothing with the C is ever cheap! but always fun... 8)

Thanks for the help, what threw me was when I checked out Arz Tuning they have my switch listed as an old style switch for cars with sliding heater controls, deffinately not what I have! Its now decided it wants to work again, think I will pull it out and dismantle it at the weekend, see if I can't assist it with its thinking!!

Recently I've installed a gear box with shortened final drive, since doing so my VR is running at higher revs much more often, as would be expected. As such I have been getting oil tempratures of around 130 Deg C when cruising on the motorway at round 80 - 90 mph and about 110 Deg C when around town and moving up and down the gears, my water temps are staying around 100 Deg C fairly constantly. Does this seem normal, could one of my sensors be faulty? I've been thinking about going down the Mocal Oil Cooler route to combat this problem, question is how easy are these to fit? Even better does anyone have or know of an idiots guide to doing this?
