Hey, after i fixed my rad fan switch temporarily by using the one from my audi, i drove the car for the first time after about 2 weeks, and the car seems to be idling really high, it goes up to around 1.6 rpm and then comes back down and keeps on doing this and another thing when i shift it into reverse the car make a loud klunking noise, its like the gears are crashing in,, any suggestion could it maybe be that the liquid is low?? Thanks

No help as of yet mm I joined the vwvortex forum and got some help but i still like this forum much better lol anyways some one there said it definetly is the radiator fan switch or i should say thermoswitch (thats what it says in the repair manual) if its the switch how come when i unplug the connector it still goes on? I dont really understand how the swithc works becuase it has 3 prongs on one side and a flat part on the other, how does it work. Please help anyone i need to fix my car. lol Could it be the switch or maybe somthing else. Advise me Thanks

Hey, this dam radiator fan is pissing me off. It doesnt shut off until it kills the battery. Any idea why the fan doesnt shut and solutions. In another post of mine i sad that the fan had cut up some wires next to it going into the temp sensor and all that junk, i fixed all that but it doesnt shut. What can i do please help Thanks

I guess thats my only choice, i hate soldering though, o well gotta do what you gotta do has this happend to anyone though?? Thanks

Well, another problem arose today, my cars battery died so when i went to jump it the fan came on, i took the jumper cabels off and it went off, the car had been sitting all night so it couldnt not have been hot. I did it agian and same thing happend. So then i started to look around in the engine when i discovered that the freakin wires that are next to the fan had fallen in to it while it was on and the f***** fan cut them up. about 5 are cut and another 4 are semi cut/split. That is probably the main problem as to why the fan stays on all the time. I guess it happend last night when i was driving and didnt really noticed the fan on because is usually does that and i guess it stayed on all night ultimately draining the battery. Do you think the problem will be fixed once i strip the wires and re connect them?? Sould i weld them or can i just tape them up? and any suggestion on how i can prevent this from happening. This car cant go without problems for more than a week or so. Still love it lol Thanks

Okay, the turn signal from a 91 G60 should be the same as the turn Signal from a 92 Vr6, yes no

So all i need to replace is the thing all the way at the back of the lock barrel with the small screw. So i should unscrew it, and it should come out and just go out and buy the same thing correct??? and one more question can the driver side turn signal froma VR6 be used for a 91 G60, u said u had a US G60 so i though i would ask, person i know who has one is asking. Thanks By the way u wouldnt happen to have a picture of the switch or the thing i need to replace? One more thing is this what i need http://www.autohausaz.com/search/produc ... 0@Ignition Switch or this http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/VW-Corra ... enameZWDVW

Sorry to sound stupid but i thought the electrical portion was the switch?? the whole unit has two parts correct? the lock itself and the electrical portion. I feel so stupid i dont know what the switch looks like. Yesterday i opend up the whole steering wheel, took off the leg brace at the bottom then the enclosure to the ignition and turn signal and then i took off the steering wheel to see if i could maybe tighten the screw but theres little working space. When i replace the switch which i still dont know what it looks like do i have to replace the electrical portion and when i replace the switch does it come with a new key or can i use my old key?? If you dont mind can you show me what the switch itself looks like with a picture or 2, hope its not too much trouble Thanks
-
do u think the ignition problem could be a loose electrical portion of the switch like with the screw in the back?? and can i use this if i need to replace it?? clicky Thanks

How thick is the manifold? I dont want to sand too much off and any idea how long is it going to take me? To sum it up, you take different grit sand paper and sand the manifold untill its smooth, then take the white or best polishing rouge and apply it on the manifold and rub it in until it becomes shiny? Is that the gist of it. This will be the first major thing (if you can call it that) i do to my Corrado Thanks (wish me luck lol)

This is an old post but i had a question similar to bv, but not quite the same. The fuses for the fan are located near the coolant tank correct, theres a metal piece that connect the two screws and then their two regular fuses, what amps should they be?? Thanks
