This will never come into power, it will take waaaaay too much time and money to implement. Its like the black box idea for pay-per-mile tax, it would cost far too much money to fit one into every single car, and to then maintain the system. It makes me laugh though how the government keeps trying to tie us all down. They want to stop car modfication, stop binge drinking, drugs are illegal, hell what am i supposed to spend my money on?!?

What speaker enclosures do people have up front? I ask because i've got a load of Eton audio equipment in my garage that ive been trying to sell at 50% of the RRP for a while, but had no luck, so ive decided it had may aswel go in the Rado, but i need some door pods for the 6.5" comps. What do people suggest? Cheers

I know it's nothing like a GTi but a mate of mine has a 205 diesel as his runaround. Its done well over 200k and is still as strong as ever. It gets plenty of abuse, never gets washed, gets very little maintenance, and yet still kicks out 45-50mpg and is running strong.

Oil prices have fallen by 20% since July, but they are keeping the output the same in order to further reduce the price of petrol, which is jolly nice of them. My local is 89.9 for the usual stuff.

I have absolutely no idea, they were on the car when i purchased it :lol: I did plan to polish it up at E38, but never found a quiet time between the drinking. It was cleaned before the show, but not very well, and then drove 100 miles, so once i got there it didn't look as good as it should have done.

I've got a 1990 1.8 16V and i've gotta say i love driving it! Its so nice and comfy, yet sporting and commanding! Although, am i the only person who is slightly disappointed by the pace of it? I mean, the way people talk about them, and with the 130ish bhp on tap, i was expecting it to be alot faster than it is.

My raddo feels slower than my saxo vtr from some years back! I know it isn't, but i think the C is just better built. In the saxo it felt like the engine was trying to tear away from the rest of chassis, which is a sign of bad suspension setup, whereas when you put your foot down in the C it feels alot smoother and at car feels held together alot more. Then again, if i wanted to go fast i wouldnt have bought a valver!

Head gasket, excellent. Well its booked in the garage next week for a general tidy up, service, cambelt change, slight oil leak needs looking at, irrative revs on idle, tracking, and the hand brake needs tightening. So hopefully once all that is sorted i'll have a better idea of the condition of the engine. If its still bad news i might take the bull by the horns and get the engine rebuilt over the winter.

Its a 1.8 16V with a standard exhaust, although i couldnt tell you if the cat has been removed as the exhaust was replaced shortly before i purchased the car. The smoke is white and is at its worst when on tick over, in traffic etc.

In that case then i'll see how it goes once it's had its thorough service next week

my old insurance company wanted the installation certificate on my last car for the alarm, when i was third party only :? why the hell does it matter on a third party policy?!?

I'm getting rather alot of smoke coming from my exhaust recently. It has a new exhaust 4 weeks ago and has only done 200 miles since. Is it possible for a new exhaust to cause smoking? I ask because once i turn the engine off if i leave it 3/4 mins there is still a small about of smoke billowing from the backbox, as if its the heat inside the exhaust that is causing it? Or is the engine on its way out? It shouldnt be as its done 118k with full and thorough service history.

I lad i know down Burton has a yellow mini with a 1.3 MG turbo lump in it, and that thing is ridiculously fast! There is also a guy knocking about the web that is building a mini TT!! He widened the entire bodyshell in order to fit in a 3.2 V6, TT dash and 4WD system, now imagine how crazy that is going to be!!

I pay £800 tpft on my 1.8 16V C with 1yrs NCB, which i dont think is too bad considering im 20

Ok, before i pump any money into the Corrado i want to make sure the engine is sound. However, the car was left sitting for a few months before i purchased it and so i want to give it a thorough service, then monitor its performance for a few months to make sure its good and strong. So basically, what are the best bits and bobs to get? Best oil, best plugs, best filters etc? Ah yes, also what sort of temperature reading should i be getting for the oil from the MFA when on a steady journey ? Ta muchly. Chris.
