  1. I ve seen that somewhere before was it the 'VW corrado dome site' you got that from! It is very true I think we can all relate to this in some form or other!
  2. Hi Guys My name is Anthony and I have been toying with this idea for a while now and thought I'd run it by you lot to see what you think. Right here it goes I would like to set up a general meet up maybe once a month at a pub, or something along those lines where we can have a chat, have a look at each others cars and see what everyone has done to improve the already stunning little 90's coupe. I live in West Sussex and was thinking of a meet somewhere in the middle so that it isn't too far away to get too for everyone. I used to go to a meet with other gti owners when I had a gti at a pub called the limeburners its on the B2133. I think We used to meet up every second tuesday of the month and I had a good time every time I went. It was run by a guy called John Wintle in those days but he had to give it up for personal reasons but I hear he is running a meet near chichester now where a few corrado owners meet up with gti owners so how about a meet at the Limeburners where we can all get together. If you are interested then add a reply on to this thread and I will sum up weather it is worth while doing. Many thanks for taking the time to read this thread. Also in future we could arrange convoy meet up points for events like GTI International and other big events of this type on this site what do you think???? --------------------- Unstickified....VR6
  3. The robert bentley manual only gives the co content for a catted corrado +-.2% which is impossible to get on a de catted corrado that would be far to lean and would make the car run like a bag'o'shite. I think it must be the same as a golf mk2 without a cat but with the pg engine in it what do you reckon got to tune it today for the MOT
  4. You dont have any 3 or 4 lane motorways though that you can go side by side with your mates and race each other ( I dont do this of course!!!!!!!!!!!!!! driving at high speeds is dangerous on public roads!!)
  5. Alright chap I know goodridge do the stainless hoses for the front but I have a feeling I've also seen them advertised for the rears as well you can try a mail order place like demon tweeks I'm sure they stock goodrige stuff.
  6. Hi guy's I was wondering if any one knows what the co content should be on my 91 G60 I've de catted it and it's running rich 3.8% at the moment and want to lean it a bit it's due for the MOT on monday so really have to sort this out tomorrow Iknow you have to disconnect the blue colant sensor and take the breather hose of the rocker cover to get a correct reading but that is as far as I know. Is it like the mk2 gti where it should 2% +-.5% or is the corrado different to this any info would be very gratefully accepted Cheers guys in advance
  7. Yeah maybe but we have better roads over here you maybe able to rag it round the tt race roads but we've got the M25 or M1 at 2 O' clock in the morning it's great fun @ 145mph
  8. i'm 22, now 23 in january my premium for the current year was going to be £1200tpft with 1 years ncb on my 91' G60 and thought that was really steep so I got it on a limited milage policy of 5000miles it got the premium down to £680 which was a bit more sensible but I am still pissed off with paying high premiums for insurance evry time i ring round for quotes there is a big variety of quotes from £1200 to £2000 its a bit of a joke really.

Alright mate nice looking mota you got there I had a good look at it at the south of england show at the aerodromea couple of months back it looks seriously phat with those 10's on it I'm supprised you dont get any rubbing on the arches.
  10. and here s a few pictures of it how it is after the spray job. It was just me being thiick before I had forgotten how to load up the pictures all the forums use different ways of loading up pictures onto their sites got it sorted now thanks
  11. Try the link it contains all the new legislations passed in every year to date click on 1993 and look at line five of january it says and I quote "All new petrol vehicles to be fitted with catalytic converters." so I guess that if your car was registered in 1992 then you have no worries with taking your cat off. The site I have gone to is the department of transports home page so if this is wrong then the government have f***ed up big time. Hope this clears a few doubts that anyone has about removing your catalytic converters if your car is registered before January 1993 you dont have to have it on there NICE!!!!!! http://www.transtat.dft.gov.uk/calendar ... l.htm#1993
  12. It'll probably be your alterenator belt slipping if it was your p/s belt your steering would be feeling a bit stiffer lock to lock, or if it was your charger belt you would be losing power so I would say that 9 times out of ten your alternator belt is the culprit making the noise it's an easy fix just need to tension up the belt with a spanner a bit.Or you can try http://www.gpcvwaudi.com/ they do some cheap parts for corrado's as well hope this helps
  13. For everyday pattern parts usually http://www.eurocarparts.com have parts for the corrado and they're alot cheaper than VAG prices or if they dont have them on the shelf they can order them in for instance door handle Vag price £95+vat eurocarparts £45+vat you see the difference is quite big
  14. looks sweet mate what have you done engine bay wise. I'm looking to get some bits under my bonnet chrome plated but haven't found anyone that'll do it yet, would you happen to know of anyone in the south east.
  15. Sorry but I'm going to nick pick now we were both wrong I ve just looked it up and they changed the law On the first of January !993 which states that any car registered after this date had to have a catalytic converter fitted to pass the MOT emmision test. So in other words we were both wrong
  16. I ve had a few cars in my time and the corrado is by far the best for handling, performance, reliability and individuality. As the corrado was produced for a limited time there were only 9000 corrado's made in total so it is a rare car which is why they hold they're value, they're german so you have great reliabiliy. If you need parts for it they are usually quite easy to get hold of and cheap because essentially it is the same as a mk2 golf and mk3 golfs just with a different shell on it. None of my other cars have come close to the corrado it handles like a dream and it will give alot of cars a run for their money too. G60's aren't as bad as people say the G60 charger is the only weakness but if you have it serviced every 40,000 miles you wont have any problems with it. I agree with TOO HOT because everywhere I go I get stared at you just don't see that many around. 0X
  17. She is a bit low, I ve gone through a couple of lower spoilers since I ve had it because it catches on everything I m hoping to change to an adjustable suspension setup soon so for evryday driving I can adjust the height to a more suitable setup for the pot holed british roads. Got it back from the bodyshop the other day it's been de badged,de stripped I've got the M3 sideskirts to go on it but haven't dared to put them on because it's got to go for an MOT this week and I think they would probably get damaged in the process of them trying to get it on the ramp.
  18. Really!! I wish people would stop modifying pictures and posting them as something different I got this picture from a genuine vw site so presumed it was real if someone has messed about with it then they've done a very good job of it.
  19. I installed a bee sting aerial to my old mk2 golf once and and I had 2 wires coming out of the actual aerial 1 red and 1 black the black one had to be earthed at a suitable point at the back of the car and the red wire connected to the black wire that runs along the aerial coax to the front of the car which I then fed off the swithched live on the back of the head unit and it worked fine I don't know if this is the same as the corrado aerial as I haven't taken out the head lining out of mine yet but I would have thought it was the same set up as it was a genuine VAG bee sting aerial I used on my mk2 golf hope this helps a little. :drinking:
  20. Alright chap you can bin your cat if your car is registered before august 93 or K reg as it only became the law to have one after august 93. I had my cat removed when I had a full custom powerflow system made to my own specs. The whole system including the cat removal pipe cost £410 but the difference it made was astounding the car actually sounds like a race car it is really deep and throaty as I had a smaller centre box made up to make it louder. Alot of people say that de catting the corrado doesn't make alot of difference to the performance and some even say you will lose power as there is less back pressure created but I dont agree with that at all because I had my car on the rollers a couple of weeks before I had the exhaust done and it was pushing out 167bhp@ flywheel and then straight after I had the exhaust fitted I went back and had it rolled again and it was putting out 176bhp@ flywheel which I was well pleased with as it was mostly standard apart from an induction kit. My car is now pushing 202bhp with afew extra mods like a new stg4 charger, 68mm pulley and chip, but that still aint enough next will be NOS, cam and charge cooler when cash is available. back to the point a s/s de cat pipe will cost around the £100 mark for one to be made by powerflow if it's an early VR6 you've got then you can buy one from Magnex off the shelf for around £90 and it will be a bolt on job so if in the future you want to stick your cat back on then you can. Hope this helps :eating:
  21. Thats where your wrong sunshine I ve got it on good authority that there is possibly a new corrado coming out sometime in the future it was supposed to be this year but I haven't heard anymore about it check out the picture below there's a picture of the new corrado prototype for all to see. As far as I can see this ha sgot great potential it looks a bit like the bora but you can see that it has derived from the original corrado some of the features are very similar!! What do ya reckon
  22. ok mate i'll try that this is all new to me!!
