it's when places lie about what needs doing that gets me my gf's mums golf is a 1.9tdi on an 02 plate with 45k on it...... when it went to winchester motor company (now skoda but was a vw franchise), they said her rear shocks were weeping and she needed new bushes all round........ the car is only just 4 years old and has done a pretty low mileage for a diesel...... so took it elsewhere and it turned out they were not telling the truth???? And this is vw lying to it's own customers, it makes me sick.... But tbh vw has lost the plot with the cr@p cars it makes nowadays,,,,, all too french.....

Winchester motor company charged my girlfriends mum £490 for an inspection service and rear discs on her mk golf........ after that she let me start sorting out where to get work done..... Even some of 'speciaists' think that they can charge dealer prices.... i think we should do a survey and everyone gets their missus to go to a garage to get a quote and then we go.... i bet they try to rip the women off..... seems to be a regular occurance, shameful!!

sorted now. Got the bosch jobbies, seem pretty good to me!

I am looking for some decent spark pluugs for my 2.0 8v git :) I have seen gkn;s from the stealers for £18 inc vat or euro have got some bosch super plus for £2.68 each.... anybody used either or have nay other suggestions!!!!!!!

hi guys, serviced the golf with Tom (Toad) and changed the cv boot, what a nightmare!!!! it all managed to go wrong, but Tom did a mint job. A BIG BIG thanks to Tom for all your help :brickwall:

in my 2.0 8v golf, i have a flat spot when accelerating hard changing from third to fourth and then to fifth, it lasts a couple of seconds and then it picks up again!!!! any ideas, i have changed the dizzy cap and leads!! :? :? :?

i have been out that way before, but wouldn't know the road names. My mate has just asked if i would like to go see saints play on sat, and i seeing if he can wangle me a ticket..... but i would like to get the car done too..... decisions! i will let you know tomorrow for sure what my plans are,, but thanks so much for the offer of help, i don't think there are many other forums that would be like this one!!! i changed the ht leads when i changed the dizzy cap... i haven't got a haynes, but i could pick one up from gsf...... matt

how much bhp/torque do the chips give? Do they make the fuel economy worse?
