mine has that too,cover was a right mess,so replaced it with good second hand one and cut the mesh neatly.

Had the Quantum ones fitted to my 16V for about eight years,took them off when I lowered it,thats when I discovered they had made the arch lip rust through,maybe something to keep an eye on if you have them?

could they be for the crankcase breather?

Perhaps we should get a thread going to see how many of us are musicians, and what music and instrument we all play, could be quite fun!!! spotted on the A413 between Amersham and Great Missenden at about half passed two today, Green VR6, black alloys and fantastic stance,sounded good too, was behind you in an AudiA4 avant with the Mrs,we turned off to great missenden,you carried on to Wendover. not seen you round before.

I did speak to the manager of my local post office but unfortunatley he did not hold out much hope after he had asked me to describe what was in the envelope and how it had been packaged! he implied it should have been in a more substantial package,maybe a jiffy bag. Sorry his words not mine. Why does this always seem to happen to me? By all means have a go from your end, I can't really afford to right off that amount and not have anything to show for it. I,m sorry to have to report that the envelope the rollers were sent in had split open when I received it from the postman this morning,he said that was how he got it and had tried to secure the contents with an elastic band and asked me if any contents were missing. unfortunately three of my four sets were missing,I guess had fallen out and were lost. sorry to have to report this,as the set I did reeive looked great. Hi. Have got two replacement front wings to 'replace' :) my damaged ones. does anybody know of a product i can get to replicate the mastic type sealant at the door end of the wing , under the wheel arch. Thanks. Vince.

Having to bash out wings and put my VR6 Ice Grey bumper on to keep roadworthy, only put car back on road last week to start new job! well p****d off . All, I have been told the cat on my 16v is rattling because the ceramic element has come away inside and I will need a new cat. got a qoute from VW and was told a new one would cost over £700 :( (as I have the later 9A) I can't justify this and was wondering if anybody had experiance of any of the cheaper options like Euro or E-bay or even if anybody has fixed this prob before? Yep. Thats what I just found out. My engine is the later type with 8mm stud, so wants 25nm!! where as my Bentley manual only quotes for the ten at 45nm and doesn't mention anything else!!! ahh well live and learn :) and at least I've got a new stud now!!! Just put belt back on, all tghtened up and the timing marks line up, Hurrah!!!! Have to get aux belts back on now,before the big start-up :) Thanks again for all your help. Vince.

Would you believe it!!!! reset belt,went to torque up the idler pulley nut and the stud sheard off :( . Picking new one up from stealers today!!! Thanks for asking, will let you know :) Vince.
