I drove past and spotted this car minus its plates......is it going for sale? ( nosey parker eh?)
-
I'm afraid the Corrado is away. I couldn't bear to have it sitting doing nothing when someone else could be getting the use of it, so after sailing an MOT its off to Glasgow somewhere. The chap who bought it was as happy as Larry (didn't know Larry had a corrado) when he left. I'll prob venture back to the VeeDub scene soon so I'll keep my toes wet on the forum. Hers a pic about 15mins before it left! and here is the replacement for the summer
-
Cheers people. In between the hi winds and lashing rain, I'll go and check these options out. :salute:
-
It just makes a sort of grinding noise then the brakes come on! The pedal goes solid when it does it and once the ABS light came on and stayed on. ??? Modern cars!

They're £60 quid Jamex things I got on Ebay. I was a bit scared to mess things up (should really change the whole lot at the same time) but the car handles perfect and theres no rubs/scrapes/exhaust clunkage. I saw your car in TESCO but it was p***in down wi rain so I never came over to say 'ello. Car wise I've bought my first love. I've purchased my 7th Ford Capri. Its in "storage" just now but I'm happy usin the Corrado anyway. If I can keep both, I will but come the summer I'll be updating my motorbike so unfortunately the Corrado will end up goin :( .....well thats the plan this week! Still want to have owned a Mk1 Golf at some point.....too much choice!! Might just buy a 307 diesel and blend in with the rest of the traffic

I've since sorted the springs and put 15" RA's on(with Toyo Proxes...ta Camskills) Here it is. I've just bought somethin else now so I'm maybe gonna put her on the market....dunno.....

Love it! nice and simple too. What did you do for an inlet manifold? -
I was offered FK Konigsports for £100 at the weekend...as I tightened the bolts on my newly fitted Koni Suspension!!!! They are from a friend who has broken a car up. Not sure of age/ condition but one needs an insert. The cheapskate in me tells me thats a bargain but tbh, the Mk1 Golf I almost bought in June had AVO stuff and handled amazingly!!! Suspension is a funny thing- finding a balance between looks and handling is difficult then you have the added problems of wheel clearance etc etc. Good Luck. I'm sure the car'll still look magic. 'MON THE WISHY CORRADOS

I'm changin from 17 back to 15". My last Corrado had 15s and handled like a go kart where as my present valver with 17's is a bit suspect. In this thread there are comments about acceleration etc. What basically happens is the bigger the wheel, the more inertia it will possess. Eh?? Oh, the bigger the rim the more resistance to turning there is( is that why F1 cars still run 13" wi spongey tyrewalls for traction?, he asked..... ) By dropping the sidewall size, you are effectively stiffening the suspension too so the car will get harsher ride-wise. To agree with the majority...16" is the optimum size for ride/looks. For a total drivers car go 15" and for looks 17/18" (oh dear look at those little brake discs!!!)

I use autosol for my motorbike rims. Amazin stuff. Be prepared to polish regularly but its worth it!!! 8) -
My car sometimes (only occasionally) makes a tiny grindy-type noise when coming to a halt. It only does it stopping at around the 5mph mark and the pedal goes solid too. Its done it a few times when turning RIGHT into a parking space. Before I start chasing my tail around the 4 corners of the car I thought I'd ask if anyone has had a similar problem. I know its not pads discs or anything like that..this is a sound/feeling I haven't come across before...... :? Oh yes, its a 95 2l 16v and other than this the brakes are top dog!

This was interesting folks. I'm just a nosey BA57 ARD and thought I'd test the opinions of like minded car enthusiasts, after all lets think about it...WE ALL HAVE REET GOOD TASTE COS WE HAVE CORRADOS :salute: . I didn't intend to upset anyone and could've easily put up "what makes a good corrado?" This could've been easily as offensive cos ones mans BMX is another mans mountain bike. Anyway, hope it all makes sense now. I'll get back to mindless small wee jobs now like sanding the criss-cross bits of my BBS wheels in order to paint em black(painstaking). Until the next time Catch ye later  Si PS I've been waitin on people gettin stuck into my own car in the gallery,....particularly the varying height suspension/different coloured front wings and oil leaks!! (did Karmann rip the 16v's rocker gaskets on the way out the factory???)

CLASS!!!!! 8) Brings out the jealousy tho! ha ha

Just had a peek in here about adaptors. Very interesting contacts people, thanks a bunch. If I have enough money left after christmas some bespoke adaptors will be getting made I think!!! Ta Simon
-
Gonna get the front end painted the right colour!!! The wings've been sprayed in the wrong shade which is really noticable to me! :( I'd like to go down to 16" or 15" wheels. I'm happy with the running of the car. Its got a whack of history up to 95000mls....i.e right now. There are printouts from Star Performance showing 151bhp but I'm not fussed abouit the speed etc. The motorbike's for going fast on!! If it wasn't a daily runner I'd love a set of porsche 968 wheels (edition 90's??)
-
Listen folks, as I said above there's no offence intended. Opinions are personal things and individuality is what sets us all apart. I'm just interested in what a bunch of people think!! Maybe at 27 years of age I've turned into an old fuddy duddy...Wheres my pipe and slippers?
-
This may be a touchy subject but if you had to envisage a bad Corrado what would it look like? This is mine...but maybe I'm a purist and I should point out that I'm a science teacher here so I'm leaving myself wide open to a ribbing anyway!!! 1. Subaru Blue or Ford Imperial Blue 2. Low at the front- High at the rear 3 Bodykits any...the more 90's the worse it gets 4 TSW Venoms...what the f**k were they all about? 5 Any more than two exhausts 6 Angel eyes/lexus lights 7 Rear wing a la Escort Cosworth 8 Jap style graphics...sorry GRAFIX in fact..this list is endless and I probably will open a can of worms. I hate doin that! :)

I'm a cheap skate. I need rear discs. I've had a quick look and it seems GSF are the ones to beat for rear discs and pads especially since we're talking Brembo stuff here. Its 4stud plain solid discs I'm looking for. Just wondered if anyone had any tips or contacts. Cheers Simon

Impressed! The wheels are very smart....so difficult to get the right look on a corrado I think. I have an idea up my sleeve for wheels but its gonna need some of my engineering prowess to get em on............So it'll prob never get past the photoshop stage then!

My current car is nicknamed the "Wes-mobile" it can be seen in the members area("Corrado number 2"). I almost bought another yesterday...a dragon green H reg that needs TLC but with my own blue one and the motorbike I have no room for it :( Dirt cheap it was too!!! My old car lives in Netherton now. White with 6 spokes on an H-reg. My friend bought it from me and incidentally his bro has a LHD VR6 german import which is very neat. Its funny when I go visit, the whole street looks out at the 3 corrado's parked up :) I'm gonna get some pics of the old car up too. I'll keep my eyes open for your car on the road. Cheers Simon

Here's a coupla pics o my 2.0 16v I bought in the summer. I had a white one before this which was ultra low and great fun to drive but I sold it when I got the chance of an RS Cosworth Sierra. It went in the summer and I swayed back to the VW scene. After lookin at a tidy but impractical MK1 Golf I had a look at this and parted with my cash. Its Standard except for : Koni suspension( new springs due to go on cos theres a height difference which annoys me!) 17" momo wheels. (90's things but i dunno their name) and...of course.. a debadged FK grille just to be different  I fancy gettin some new wheels sometime....Wonder if santa has an old renault clio 16v that he's breaking...or a 944S2.... 8)

Hi there, being a fellow Corrado owner from good ol' Wishaw I'd kinda wondered why I hadn't seen the car around. You'll be dying to get it back on the road.I'm sure the car will be lookin good when its done. Crackin wheel choice by the way! (does my memory serve me correct in that this car was in the Daily Record?)
