You've got no imagination do ya :D Excuse my hairyness.... Skye

Oh that was part of my oil pressure buzzer testing circuit. I disconnected the low pressure sensor wire and grounded the high pressure wire (yellow) all the time to simulate good pressure all the time. Beeper still went off so its either a break in the yellow wire somewhere or the warning circuit in the inst cluster is fuxored Skye

With the ignition on but the car not running I get ~ 7V on the blue/white wire that used to go into the stereo. That's all I've got to help sorry SKye

Looks a bit like a skull don't you think? Maybe I'm just a bit skull obsessed :D (I have a skull tat on my leg)

Sending the G60 off for rebuilding tomorrow. Removing AC this week and putting on new belts, water pump, oil cooler. Used a whole can of engine brite, the old leaky valve cover gasket made a real mess Whee! BEFORE: AFTER:

No modern car "needs" backpressure that is a myth http://www.uucmotorwerks.com/html_produ ... uemyth.htm mo' flow mo' bettah

Thanks! As long as I can get to the back of it, so I can put a tap in the HP oil pressure sensor wire where it leaves for the inst cluster, it's all good. That way I can test if my beep beep beep oil pressure warning buzzer is coming on because of a break in the wire, or a faulty circuit in the inst cluster (I've eliminated every other possibility) Skye

Am I crazy or is the fuse box supposed to be able to "unclip" and drop down so you can get at it easier? Are you supposed to just unclip the two white tabs on the side and then what? if anyone could describe the procedure, it would help a lot.. its a very small space so learning by experimenting isn't working very well for me ;) Thanks, Skye

The XR4Ti bodyshell is actually BETTER than the stock Cossie 3dr body shell - it came from the factory with the "stiffening kit" extra chassis reinforcements along the bottom of the shell which had to be fitted separately on the 3dr - unfortunately it also came with that horrible looking fake C-pillar so I had my bodyman chop it out :) Looks so much better. No V8 for me, real race cars have 4 cylinders and go around corners (both left AND right) ;) All the running gear from a MkV Escort Cossie bolts right up, I like that idea a lot. Honestly you can't really use more than 250-300hp on gravel anyway. Skye

Yeah its a Sierra.... Ford sold it as the "Merkur XR4Ti" over here in North America, and put in a pretty healthy 2.3L turbo engine. Not putting in a Cossie yet, maybe next year. The stock powerplant can make 250hp with very little work, and that should keep me entertained for quite a while especially with just RWD. Eventually I will get a Cossie AWD setup though, or a reasonable facimilie (the new "global I4" duratech block is actually a Cosworth design and can be had for cheap and the tuning potential may be incredibly good for the price - not sure if I can mate it to the MT75 trans though). Will be hooking up a monster intercooler, fuel cell, huge brakes, remote oil filter, etc etc Engine swaps will be dead easy, we fabricated some custom engine mounts off the chassis rails instead of resting on the crossmember (easier for rally service too) http://www.rallyrace.net/view/?2003-09- ... ne_bay.jpg Oh yeah and that's a Group A Sapphire Cosworth next to it :D Almost bought that. And a Saab 96 rally car behind that http://www.rallyrace.net/view/?2003-09- ... uarter.jpg Skye

Very nice :) Mostly tarmac events in the Netherlands I'm guessing? Here's some videos and pics of the Wild West rally we went to last month http://www.rallyrace.net/images/WildWest03/ Skye -
OK its not a Corrado but I'm getting a bit excited because its finally painted... can't wait to start putting it back together and get it out in the woods Skye

Here's the bit that's broken on the Jetta roof I have at the moment. :( Is that the part that you're talking about breaking?

What's the advantage of these wipers? I thought the Lupo stuff was for mono wiper conversion, but apparently I was wrong :D I'm quite happy with my stock wipers, after putting on some new blades, and doing a little grinding on the posts in the arms. No more unwiped spot right in front of the driver.... Skye

I'm making my oil cooler system from scratch using nomex covered hose with reusable AN-10 fittings, and a turbo volvo sandwich plate (thermostatic control of course) and volvo oil cooler. Should end up cheaper than an off the shelf kit and MUCH beefier :D The only tricky bit is I'm having a run of different length oil filter housing pipe studs made up, because the volvo sandwich plate is a bit shorter and the retaining nut is recessed, compared to the pathetic stock oil/water heat exchanger. I'll take pics.... Skye

Haven't replaced it yet myself, the windows are one of the few things that have worked flawlessly since I bought the car :D However when the metal units arrive, of course I'll have to replace my own in order to make up an installation instructions page Skye
-
Common problem. There's a perch for the window to sit on and that moves up and down on a vertical track. At the top and bottom of this track are plastic clips that act as a guide for the regulator cable. Well, since they're plastic, they break over time and then your window won't go up all the way, it'll leave like an inch or so gap. I'm working on making a run of replacement METAL regulator parts that will last forever and fix the problem. I believe the dealer only sells the entire regulator assembly which is around US$500  Keep your eye on http://www.corradomods.com/ I hope to have them for sale in the next couple of months Skye

Make sure you torque the knock sensor bolt down to the correct value as it is crucial for its proper operation. It is in essence just a microphone. Skye

The blue coolant temp sensor is for the ECU, the black sensor in front of the blue sensor is for the gauge. Skye

I was looking seriously at the Nissan 240SX S13 body with a SR20DET swap before I picked up the Corrado. Probably would have done it too. Ricey yeah, but fooookin fast Skye

Thanks... keep em coming :D Skye

Anyone have a TrueType font (TTF) that is or is close to the italicized "Corrado" emblem we all love so much? Skye

A3 Jetta B3 or B4 Passat Skye

Yes, shimming on the Jetta tracks with some washers, its dead easy. Instructions here http://www.geocities.com/corradomoonroof/ Skye
