  4. I assume you've crawled around under the car to see if there are any leaks? If the pan is clean, then do a compression check. You're looking for a greater than 10% difference between cylinders more than the numbers themselves. There's only really two places the oil can go, either leaking onto the ground somewhere (any oil drops on your parking spot?) or getting past the valves or rings and being burnt up. Skye

  6. Yeah OK a week later... what about a month later? 100000km later? How does it affect bore wear? Valve wear? Bearings? etc etc etc etc Two dyno pulls over a week is not a "proper test". I don't trust any of that stuff. IF it works, the manufacturers will start using it. Skye

  8. Hey Henny! Yes its a G60, I thought I was on the "other" board where it lists your year/model in your info on the left. Thanks for the info. I measured a sensor a while back and it was reading something inbetween open and closed like 2kOhms so I'm pretty sure they are bad. I wouldn't drive around for any extended time with them disconnected, I was just curious for diagnostic purposes. I had the car sitting there idling, and disconnected both sensors, and it just kept on beeping at me. Strange eh? Maybe multiple problems (my favourite). Haven't tried grounding both sensor wires with the car running to see if it STARTS beeping though (didn't have a jumper wire handy) Will be easy enough to tell if the switches are NC or NO when I get the new ones Skye

  12. Ohhh thanks hadn't thought of that :lol: I've been putting oil in the washer fluid resevoir by mistake! Good point though, I forgot to mention recent oil change to 20W50 and new filter, so that's not it. I'll just change the damn sensors and hopefully be done with it. Skye
  13. There's no pattern at all to when it goes off, not in corners, not when I'm flogging it, uphill, downhill, speed, temp, it just seems to be completely random.... Skye
  14. The damned beeping is back, it wasn't doing it for quite a while after I refreshed the wiring. I'm going to just replace the sensors and see if that helps, but a few questions.... 1. The two oil pressure sensors are just switches right? Should be open circuit or closed circuit, no inbetween values. Are they normally open or closed with the car off? 2. If you disconnect both pressure sensors shouldn't the damn thing stop beeping??? 3. If you ground one or both sensor wires what should it do? 4. Do the sensor wires end up just going straight into the ECU? I'll go look at the wiring diagrams this weekend. Maybe there's a short in the loom or something :roll: Thanks Skye

I went down to the local fastener supply with one of the front disc retaining screws (which was so stripped I had to cut a slot in the head with a dremel to get it out) and got stainless steel replacements with big philips heads for about 30c each. And used copper anti-seize on the threads when I installed them. If you've got the time I think it will make future disc changes easier.

The purpose of coilovers in my mind is so you can crank the height up and down for track days, racing tires etc, so I agree you would be better off fitting some good quality shocks like Bilstein sport (HD might be too stiff) and refreshing the bushings, ball joints, wheel bearings etc if they need attention.     Loose spark plug!?

    You don't even need an expensive "clicker" type torque wrench, even a simple deflection type or "bar" torque wrench are accurate enough for spark plugs If you do get a clicker, always dial the setting to zero when you put it away. It's a good idea to get it calibrated every couple of years as well. Skye

    Yes, CV joints would defo be suspect for those symptoms. Haven't done the job myself so that's all I can say for now. Skye
