  1. Morning all. As I have the C in bits, I figured it would be a good time to add some sound deadening to the old girl. The roof lining is out (thanks sh!tty sun roof) so was going to do the roof panel around the same sh!tty sun roof along with the boot and as the doors are all stripped down them as well. Last time I did any sound proofing, there was really only Dynamat on the market but now there are loads with lots of different prices thickness etc. Does anyone have any experience with any sound damping materials these days? My big concern is making sure it stays stuck to the roof panel and does not pull down my freshly reupholstered roof lining. It also needs to be thin enough to allow the sun roof to slid freely as there is not a great deal of clearance by the looks of things. The doors i can see being a big ole pain in the ass. My audioscape pods arrived today :-)) so I don't know if i should line the back of the door skin, the framework or the back of the door card itself? Any suggestions?
  2. Is there a space on the site where it would be suitable to post parts that I have no idea of the value of before making listings? Thanks
  3. Its 4th of May. I live in Aylesham so only down the road. Only issue is the C is not looking like its going to be ready to break cover just yet. Are you local?
  4. We have all done it! I did the crack pipe Bolt for the fuel tank strap - enjoyed that one Half the mounts for the rear parcel shelf support The list goes on
  5. Awesome, thanks gents. I was going to do this today, but it turned out that what I really wanted to do was build half of Ikea on my one day off this week. I'm not bitter or anything, just saying. I will have a look see for the points you say one night in the week and hopfully might take another step to getting the bloody thing on the road some time soon
  6. Morning all. I'm just installing my Schrick inlet manifold, I have everything mounted, but wondered where people have taken the Vac feed from that goes to the collector? I have the T just not sure where to break in Thanks
  7. If you need more numbers, I'm planning to splash the cash next month for suspension.
  8. Is anyone planning on attending this year? After last years epic cock up with the traffic, things should be better this year as they have gone back to the traffic plan from the year previous. I'm thinking of attending and wondered if anyone else is up for it. It would be a good place for a first outing of my C

    9" Rears??

Yeah, mine is a VR so yeah it will poke more but the arches have been extended but i have heard it said that I will need spacers on the front??

    9" Rears??

That's the look I'm after. Guessing 7.5 front and 9 rear.] Do you have any issues with caliper clearance at the front? My plan is to run 312mm breaks at the front as well

    9" Rears??

Do you guys know of anyone running Borbet A's? Been looking into these and wondering if i will need spacers on the front to clear the calipers as the et is only 20
  12. Nice looking build fella. Wish mine was moving along quite as quick!! Tonight, I almost got some parts closer to maybe almost be ready to possibly go to paint some time soon ish

    9" Rears??

Sounds like i should be ok then. I do have a bit of stretch in my arches

    9" Rears??

Is anyone running 9" rear wheels? I'm looking at Borbet A's in a staggered set of 16x7.5 and 16x9. I'm not going for a big drop, just a little, I have widened the arches. is anyone running similar with or without issues it would be good to have an idea if these are going to be grief if i ever find a set
  15. Bank Holiday quick update. Got the rear bumper fitted and lose fit on the exhaust. Also cheeky little polish of the tail lights for good measure. Bit of stretch on the bumper makes it look good but may need a bit of adjustment to get it just right but we will see. Tail pipe is a really nice fit and shape without being too in your face. Really wanted to get a bit more done but spent a lot of time trying to find bolt sizes and get gaskets cut and brackets sorted.
  16. I feel your pain I really do. We had a fell set of suspension go missing for 2 weeks when we ordered from PSI and delivery by UPS. Eventually turned up, no apology from UPS and no compensation for having the car off the road. I really hope you have better luck
  17. Oh OK. I thought you needed to take the vent back to the inlet, just without the oil? Thought it had something to do with pressure balancing the inlet?
  18. Thanks, I have a set of Forge hoses and to be honest, I keep trying to get them to fit and I'm not convinced that they will fit at all. If they do they must be routed in a different way. I'm not sure at this time if I have a hose with the second connection for the top of the TB cooler. I did try twisting and turning the PCV but can not get it all to reach, I assume with a catch can you have gone out from the PCV and returned from the can to the inlet? I was thinking the same with the carbon, in my Rallye i just ditched it and vented to ambient however you do get fumes at times and the C has valve that the Rallye didnt
  19. Hi guys I'm struggling to get everything reconnected in the engine bay since the old man pulled the engine out without marking anything up! I have most of it sorted but have a few issues that I'm looking for some help on so here goes: Should one of the nipples on the TB cooler have a non-return valve: I only ask as the bit of pipe removed (but cut) had a small NR valve fitted so wondered if it is required and if so is it directional? What secures the plastic HT lead guides? The hose with the UFO fitted for the breather that feeds back into the inlet wont reach: I was thinking of doing away with this and using a catch can what do people recomend? £20 from ebay or £300 from black forest industries? If I do go down the route of a catch can, can i remove all the vacuum connections or do i need one that goes onto the inlet still? Also at the same time can i remove the carbon filter and associated? I have no idea what this is for but it appears to be part of the breathing system so can it be removed? Thanks
  20. Do you have a rough cost for postage? May be interested if postage is right??
  21. Does anyone know where I can lay my hands on a solenoid for a Schrick inlet manifold. I'm after the one that connects to the controller electrically. I have everything else, but the solenoid appears to be missing and I have only just realized. Thanks
  22. Had a quick half hour down the unit tonight and got the bonnet on, all good in the hood. Fits a treat with no contact so happy about that. I did however forget to look at the cam pack for the numbers so ill have to look that out for you tomorrow.
  23. to be honest, it could be 268, I'm typing on the fly and didn't look up the actual numbers, your numbers sound closer to right. I just didn't want it to aggressive or to peak to much. I'm building with road trips in mind. I will look up actual numbers tonight
