  1. Hi mate of mine has kindly helped me get my car fixed, but intakin the bottom cover off the engine, he took the crank bolt out. this is cool cos i dont want this to come undone as has been known to happen. Gonna replace it with mk1 bolt and washer and Threadlock! My question is that my mates pulley comes off and then the camshaft pully is behind that but they are 2 seperate pieces, when he took the bolt out of mine, both the camshaft pulley and the other one came away as 1 piece. His has a hole thru the centre for the outer pulley to slip over the camshaft one, but mine seems like its one unit. any help would be appreciated. thanks
  2. i have measured the ports on both pb and pg g60 head and there aint much difference between exhaust, but the inlets on the pb head are smaller by a lot, so flow wouldnt be as good. also the pb head i had didnt have the 2 tapped holes on the front of the block like the PG and it was slightly different inthis respect. Maybe the later ones were different as i have only access to this one. I did think about doin this and puttin the PB head on after snapping 3 exhaust studs in my PG head. Hope this helps, apart from these things i have mentioned i cant see any other differences. Cheers

    exhaust studs

so could u put the valves from a g60 into a pb head and run it in a g60 with the g60 cam

    exhaust studs

2 questions one is have they modified the exhaust stud sizes for the G60 as the ones that VW sell are only 35mm long, whereas im sure the ones i took out were 45mm long. Maybe they use these new studs without the washers? 2nd one is, are the heads for the digifant PB engine the same as the G60 except for the addition of a feed for the charger and different cam? Cheers ps any tips for gettin the old ones off? one has snapped in the head, the others are being a pain, gonna replace all 8 need to get 3 more out! :D
  5. cheers 4 the response guys.
  6. right , the small belt was changed( thanks to Rob at Gwerks for the speedy delivery) and it gave me chance to take the pulley off. Measured as best as i could and it is an aluminium pulley and measures 70mm from crest to crest on the ribs. I saw a post somewhere that said that a guy had a 70mm pulley with a standard belt, which makes sense to me now as the shorter belt is a different number. The tensioner is the same length too . Soooo does that mean that my car will be chipped too? Just curious as to what the standard pulley size is too. will check for boost leaks as it only shows about 8psi on my gauge, but i suppose the gauge could be wrong.
  7. the tensioner is standard length too! just cant understand it! it does however go very very well so maybe the reading from the boost gauge may be wrong? its tapped into where the pipes go to the carbon canister( which was binned) front of inlet manifold near isv small 8mm(?) pipe that comes out the front.i put a boost gauge pipe to take boost from there.
  8. Hi Just wanted to know if I could possibly pick your brains about 2 matters. The 1st one is , do standard chargers have a steel pulley or did they have Aluminium ones? reason Im asking is that i noticed after removing the belt from my charger that it was an Ali pulley, tried measuring it and it was round the 68mm diameter, but as space was limited, i couldnt tell properly to get an accurate measurement. The 2nd one is the belt number, IF it was a smaller pulley then it would have a smaller belt, the one that was on my car had this number on it 68417. It was a Gates belt. Can anyone let me know if this would suggest that I have a smaller pulley and therefore if it is so, then would this also mean that I would have a chip inside the ECU. Sorry if this is a long post but I just wanted to know as my charger makes about 8 psi and if it has a smaller pulley, this would suggest that it needs a rebuild (Gwerks) Thanks
  9. hi there m8 of mine wants to turbo his 16v audi engined mk2 its a 2 litre engine what bits does he need? problems he may encounter he is running k-jet with metering head on top of airbox. cheers in advance guys
  10. thanks got a message off dubforce for 3000 miles, was not sure if that was relating to the spray that some companies sell or a special coating, just heard from people that the oil vented from the crankcase lubes the seals, so need to lube it with ptfe.
  11. How often do u guys who have deleted the boost return pipe, lubricate your charger using that ptfe spray? how much do u use of the stuff in one application, thanks
