Looks like the chap was right then :( Thanks for the assistance mate, much appreciated.

Can anyone check their late style grill for me please?
-
Yeah it looks to uniformed to be a snapped piece. Is it manufactured like this do you know? I don't have another 3 bar grill to see if they're all like this.

If you look at the second to bottom slat on the below picture and run your eye across the top, just to the left of the VW badge, the slat seems to have a bit 'missing' as it doesn't stay the same level all the way across. Best viewed if you zoom in. What I need to know is whether all the later type grills are the same, or has a bit been snapped off? Only reason is that I've sold it on eBay and the chap is now saying that his mechanic told him that piece is missing. I checked the grill thoroughly before packing it, and I didn't notice any damage, and that supposed missing piece didn't jump out at me.

Mk1 Audi TT Leather/Alcantara front heated seats
jonnyboyo replied to jonnyboyo's topic in Parts for Sale
Hi Meth. They're still on TT frames/runners. I've just taken them out of my TT. -
The passenger seat is in brilliant condition with no rips, burns or scuffs. The drivers seat has a 5p size mark in the base as can be seen in the photo. This didn't get any worse in the months I was using the seat due to it not being in a position you sit on. All the seats bolsters have their integrity, are in excellent condition and are nice and supportive. The heated seat elements are fully working in both seats and the airbags are present. Collection from Cardiff, South Wales, or I'm happy for you to arrange your own courier. They're already packaged up ready to ship. £80 ****SOLD**** 07584 771 011

Doe's anyone know much about this garage or used them? Or know of anyone who has?
-
Sneaky buggers  Thats just not sport. Akin to shooting fish in a barrel me thinks!
-
Glad i've only got 4 cylinders

If you can, carpet the garage even if it's some old dinosaur print from the 70's.This will help stop condensation forming on the underside of the car :)

Is you Corrado silly low or something? GT4's are still fairly low as standard mind.
-
OUCH :gag:
-
Did you have to book it in days in advance mate? What was wrong with your car as a matter on interest?
-
Cheers buddy :thumbleft:

Has anyone had experience with GSF's filters? Reason being i have on order the round black plastic cased filter that sits on top of the rocker cover on an 8v MK2 GTi. I think its a crank case breather. I mean, it wasn't cheap from GSF at £40, so i am hoping it is a German part or of good quality.

Are N&G VW specialists Walesy? I'm looking for someone in the know to diagnose my problem.

Checking of tyre pressure, oil and coolant.
jonnyboyo replied to Bojmobile's topic in General Car Chat
Tyres prob every 2wks as they never really lose pressure. But i'm really geeky with the oil/water though. I check it almost daily as with any old car (mines 17) with over 100k you never know when something will pop or split. -
Defo a Mk2 GTi. And get an 8v. Just picked one up myself and its way faster than the 1.8 valver C i replaced it with. 8)

Not a bad price that for what looks like a real good n'. Oh, and just remember that no matter how powerful a car maybe, it will only go as fast as to how much you depress the accelerator. Take it easy and you will be just fine.

Well, no more ragging it around Tescos roundabout for me...
jonnyboyo replied to Sonicriot13's topic in General Car Chat
I think i'll leave the car parked up today and go for a walk. -
Its going to be a mind field at that price to be honest, but them you prob new that already :) On the plus side (for buyers only) Rado's seem to have taken a tumble price wise so there may be a bargain to be had.

I would buy a basic car without a service history such as a Mk1/2 GTI. At least with those engines the worst that can happen is that it needs a rebuild, and how much would that be for a basic 8v 4 pot? £1500 tops? To have the chains done on a VR i think you're looking at £800-ish just for that job, let alone if the pistons, rings, bearings etc are on their way out. I agree with what has been said above. A healthy stack of bills and receipts for quality work done is more desirable than a fully stamped up service book with no receipts to back the servicing up. Anyone can get a service book stamped up on the side. If the car is a lot cheaper than one with history, is in VERY good nick and you take an experienced mechanic with you, then the car could prove to be a steal if given a clean bill of health. And then if you keep it for a good few years you will have built up history of you're own with more than likely a few big service jobs thrown in too.

I travel back up North regularly via the M4, M5 & M6, and at times i undertake. I know its not best practice and all that, but if i'm travelling at 70, 75 in the nearside lane, i would rather not then have to cross 2 lanes to overtake a 2nd lane hogger, to then cross back again over 2 lanes to where i was. Only to do the same again a few hundred yards down the road. I actually find sometimes that by undertaking the hogger they move into the nearside lane once you have gone past. Almost as though they had not realised they were hogging or travelling slower than the first lane.

According to the owners manual, G60's should run happily on 95RON. Its the 1.8 valvers that need the higher octane. Of course using 97 and above will be beneficial to a G60. Is yours modded at all? If you're running more boost then that would explain the poo running on 95.
